  1. I'm in the process of adding a Dashboard module to monitor the results of my coupon efforts.  In working on that I realized that coupons were being handled in different ways....they seem to be recorded correctly when entered online (ie when a customers uses a coupon code) but in the backend...when taking an order over the phone or in store we use Order Editor and we are basically adding a nominal product (called DISCOUNT) to subtract the coupon amount from the order.  That works but in order to develop a Dashboard module I need to have the coupons handled in a consistent way. That lead me to investigating whether anyone had modified Order Editor to handle coupon codes and I couldn't but notice that the Order Editor add-on says...

Seeing that I'm wondering if there is some thing amiss with our install of Order Editor but before I delve into that I thought I would ask if anyone is using Order Editor with Coupons and are able to enter coupons without having to fudge the order like we have been doing.... I see that Sam @@Sam-AUST in a post above seems to say that Discounts coupons aren't working properly in Order Editor either.

Could someone please let me know whether Order Editor does actually handle Discount Coupons correctly. As I said maybe our install is a bit messed up.

    Dan

Hi Dan, when you edit an order that has a coupon, I've never found any way to actually get it to calculate correctly, it doesn't minus the discounted amount off the order.

  2. Hi guys, are there new lines in the Pay Pal express checkout logs or is it just me? Along the lines of this type of thing:

I do have weights on my products.. don't have heights and things.. but I honestly don't recall seeing it like this before - has Pay Pal been fiddling?

  3. Hi Samantha,

Thank you for your interest in Afterpay!

Upon reviewing your inquiry, it seems your business is on an eCommerce platform we don't support right now. We currently have a verified plugin with:

(List of current shopping carts, no oscommerce on list)

    -

If you believe this is an error or you plan on switching to one of the supported platforms, please reply directly to this email.

Otherwise, we have your details saved and will contact you when we support your preferred eCommerce platform.

    Continued Success,

    The Afterpay Team

  4. G'day Doug, although there are modules for other carts, apparently Afterpay is not really offering any help with at the moment with developing modules as they are already over-committed in other areas. I am so keen to use it, I have heard it increases sales like you wouldn't believe. It might help if Australian merchants on here were expressing an interest so we could show demand.

  5. Hi Harald, I am fairly sure I already had an admin/ folder but it serves no purpose other than being a "red herring" for hackers, it is directory protected but no username and pass will get you into it.

That's why I asked if I could just delete the PayPal.php out of it rather than delete the directory itself.

By the way, I tested it out front and the latest version works perfectly when you change addresses at PayPal, the shipping rates weren't updating to a new countries rate but now updates perfectly.

  6. Harald, I just did the last Paypal App updates you did and it says to delete the /admin folder if you have a custom named admin folder. Is that accurate or can we just delete the PayPal.php file out of it that your earlier update put in there?

  7. @@Harald Ponce de Leon it appears to be with Pay Pal standard only that they are removing commas for the thousands point. I attempted to check your demo.. but for the life me of I cannot remember the pass I used on that site and the pass forgotten email never came LOL

This is what Pay Pal said when I queried the change coming on 29th of March.

Please double check if there will appear the comma (,) in between the amount which is more than 1000. Like the sample I gave you. 1234.50" is correct, but "$1,234.50" is not allowed.

Now in your screenshot, 24.20 is correct, and it is true this amount is passing . But what will happen if the amount is more than two thousand (2420)? Whether or not 2420 will be passed like 2,420?

If you are creating payment button from your PayPal account, there is no such problem occurred. But if you are using third party shopping cart system like Zencart, Magneto, Prestashop, etc., such amount comma problem may happened.

Unless I'm mistaken, this would only affect sales where the amount is greater than $999.00 - they are rare as hen's teeth these days so I am not sure the change would affect my older shop..

  8. @@greasemonkey thanks for the help though, much appreciated.

I'm waiting to hear back from the host if they can find they are blocking anything from Pay Pal. It's hard because Pay Pal won't give you the IP addresses they use anymore, the tech support will only say "it's dynamic, you'll have to work it out from your logs". A really poor response from Pay Pal if you ask me.

  9. I'm sorry if this is a newbie question, but I find with the Pay Pal app that an entry called "Callbackresponse" with a Pay Pal IP such as 173.0.81.65 or 173.0.81.33 ONLY seems to appear in the log when the order is unsuccessful or doesn't go through for some reason. Is that how it's meant to be?

All of our successfully processed orders do not have a callbackresponse appear in the logs at all.

  10. I wasn't able to recreate her situation, even by emulating her order on a couple of different browsers.

When I was running these tests though, that's when I noticed the rates were not updating when I changed from an Australian to a foreign delivery address in Pay Pal.

  11. How would a customer then change the method? If say they wanted express instead of regular post. Edit the shipping method?

I've only recently seen callbackresponses showing up so I wonder if my host had been blocking or something. I'm still not sure how my 4 item customer kept being given 1 item shipping rates though.

I will upgrade the PayPal app as soon as the shiptostreet2 change is in the version released.

  12. I'm keen to update to the newest version of the app, but cannot until the SHIPTOSTREET2 is there with Express Checkout specifically as it would mess up a lot of our customers addresses.

In the version prior to Paypal 5.000 we have experienced the shipping rates NOT changing to the correct ones when the delivery address is changed ON the Pay Pal site, for example they stayed at the Australian zone rates when the country was changed to the USA. It does refresh like it is updating, but it doesn't truly update and just keeps the same Australian zone rates in the drop down on Pay Pal.

On return to the checkout_confirmation page they THEN changed to the default correct rate for the USA. At this stage we don't have a lot of customers buying from Australia to send to other countries, but it isn't a good look for the shipping rates to show inaccurately and change only on the checkout_confirmation page.

Is it possible the instant update is being blocked or not happening for some reason?
