  1. My wife and business partner, she does the ordering and order updating, I do the web site maintenance and roast the coffee. Anyway, we have a couple of vendors who want the customers phone number, for shipping reasons. Has anyone looked into adding this to the email sent to the vendor? I did a quick search and didn't find anything.

     

    BTW:

     

    We have had the MVS running live for about 2 months and have had very few problems. A few minor Contrib bugs with combining Easypopulate and MVS, but minor ones. We are extremely Happy!

     

    I honestly believe it is ready for release, with a note, that it is an advanced contrib.

    The "Default Vendor" should be kept because we had to "pre-set" the "$vendors_id" in ALL scripts to deal with various issues from php and posted variables. This also insures that all products have a Vendor assigned to them as the default id is 1 when altering the database. This Vendor should be edited to be your shop, with some default shipping module installed to deal with the case of a product being missed during creation and not getting a proper vendor assigned to them.

     

    Coffebarn:

    It sounds like you missed some edits in admin/orders.php and may have misssed something in catalog/checkout_process.php(there is code here to add data about the order, particular to the vendor and the products from that particular vendor). Double check your db as well, "orders_shipping" should be populated if your using MVS, if it isn't, you definitely missed something in "checkout_process.php".

    I found the line I missed in checkout_proccess merged it and IT WORKS!

     

    Winmerge is fast and maybe too easy thats the one I used and missed it. Beyond Compare is a little more methodical and I was able to find it fast and merge the line for a quick fix.


  3. I am a bit stumped.

     

    I have MVS working well enough to use it on my live store, just a few small glitches that I can live with but would like to get fixed soon.

     

    My biggest complaint is the products are not even showing up on the order page, invoice or packing slip. This is happening on a random basis, different vendors, different products. I found and fixed the bug for attributes not showing up correctly on the order and packing slip. I did the updated packingslip contrib.

     

    I just downloaded my orders_products from my database and all the info is there, it just isn't getting to the order page all the time.

     

    My second biggest bug is that, again on a seeming random basis the shipping is being skipped completely.

     

    I can live with these problems for a while but I hope that someone else has already fixed them.


  4. I have Easy Populate working OK with a few minor exceptions.

     

    1: When I download the froogle file it gets hosed up, some prices missing and other image urls, it's basically missing all columns after the description column. but not for all items. I think it is just on new or edited items.

     

    I get a lot of my sales from froogle so I want to get this fixed ASAP. My old listings seem to be active on froogle yet.

     

     

    2: Almost all of my images in my desriptions get commented out too. I had to set the configure files to replace escape quotes, to get it to work at all. Not all descriptions are in a html format. Could that be the problem?


  5. I have seen this with a number of different shipping modules. Make sure each shipping module has a different sort order assigned to it. If two modules have the same sort order, only one of them will show up on checkout_shipping.php.

     

    Also, try using just USPS- maybe that module just isn't working. Many people have had problems with it.

     

     

    I did try just the USPS module and it didn't work as a stand alone module either.

     

    Any ideas on how to correct this? I will search this thread some more trying to find it myself too.


  6. I had this issue also, and Craig was going to look into it. See post here at post #1121

     

    I haven't been able to locate the problem yet, and I don't know if Craig has had a chance to dig into it yet. Did you recently install the Milestone update? I wonder if that is causing issues. Perhaps someone who hasn't installed the update yet could test this and see if they can duplicate it. That might narrow it down to the changes from that update.

    I'm not so worried about the Email.

     

    It is the lack of being able to offer 2 shipping methods, i.e. UPS as well as USPS that bothers me.


  7. I have the MVS installed and working. Just a couple small problems.

     

    1: When I set the Send Order Email to Don't Send Order Emails the vendor still gets the Email.

     

    2: I can't get two shipping modules to work with one vendor.

    I would be this Vendor, all other vendors only need one shipping choice.

    I sell coffee and coffee equipment, some cleaning products are very light and easy to ship via USPS 1st Class mail. I also have some customers that choose USPS priority mail for the convenience of getting their order in their mail box or just their preference over UPS.

     

    I set up both UPS XML and United States Postal Service in the Manage Vendor page, with all of my proper info but during checkout only the UPS options are given.

     

    Can I easily fix this?


  8. I have EP working great with the exception of not uploading an attribute with a negative value correctly. I have a special internet price on some of my items of varying $'s off, they all show up as an addition when added to the shopping cart. for example:

     

    Special internet price: -100 adds 100 to the item instead of subtracting it.

     

    I had all of them working perfectly before I started using EP and now I took the option off completly but my descriptions still state to "see the special internet price in the options below". I want to try to fix the problem before I edit all of the descriptions and go with a coupon code. I did a search on this thread and found some attempts at a fix but I want to see if anyone has found a better one.


  9. I have a working store with around 400 products in it and I am wanting to add about 400 more. I have the latest Easy populate installed and I am just trying to get a correct file downloaded to edit and add more products to. I set the file to download as a tab delimited file too. My descriptions are quite long and full of html code too. Some of my products are not allowing any rows past the description row. When I shorten up the descriptions with and without html code they seem to seperate into the proper rows just fine. When I leave the code out and the same length of description it doesn't work. I did a quick edit with dreamweaver to get rid of all " and ' marks. Still didn't work right. I am using Microsoft spreadsheet to edit the file, if that would make a difference.

     

    I want to make sure I have a proper file before I attempt any upload since I am a running fully operational store.

     

    Does any body have any idea if there is a limit on the description length? Or any help would be Great!


  10. We are having a similar problem with Innovative. We hadn't had a single problem for over a year and a half. Yesterday at noon we lost contact with IMS. Now when our customers checkout they get an error message stating, can not conect with gateway try again. I did a few with the virtual terminal of IMS and I now am just using the default credit card method that came with Osc. We do have a dedicated SSL server too.

     

    I have just tried the latest version from IMS I think it was 2.4 for OSC 2.2 and newer and still no luck.

     

    Is anyone else having trouble with Innovative?


  11. I have two sets of customers, personal use and a growing business to business group.

    I would like them to be able to choose between UPS Res or Com. I trust that most people would choose the proper one and my business customers could save a few dollars.

     

    I am using the UPS XML contrib, and it works GREAT except for this one thing.

     

    I have looked in the contribs section and found nothing. Does anyone know how to do this?


  12. Hello everyone!

     

    I have this set up correctly I believe. I just have one problem. My higher priced items have some long descriptions written in a very simple html code. They are written to my .txt file with only the product url, product name and description, part of the description is missing and no price, image url, category or offer id.

     

    All of my other items with shorter, or no html descriptions, write to my .txt file fine.

     

    This is frustrating because its the high $ items I want to make sure are right. I am still uploading my manually written .txt file to froogle. It sure would be nice to get this working so I don't have a few hours after every price change. And I have a price hike coming tomorrow for one of my lines of equipment.

     

    Can anyone help?

    I had a need to be able to send small sample packages to potential customers and charge them a fixed charge which included shipping. (for example I would offer them a sample for $3, have them process it online, bypass the shipping charges, and send it to them through regular mail)

     

    I accomplished this by setting the weight of the product to "0". Then made minor changes to two files as follows:

     

    In catalog/includes/languages/english/modules/order_total/ot_shipping

    Changed this:

    define('FREE_SHIPPING_DESCRIPTION', 'Free shipping for orders over %s');

    To:

    define('FREE_SHIPPING_DESCRIPTION', 'No shipping charge for this order');

     

    In catalog/checkout_shipping.php

    Just before the following line (around line 99):

    // process the selected shipping method

    if (isset($_POST['action']) && ($_POST['action'] == 'process')) {

     

    Add the following if statement (remember, just prior to it):

    if ($total_weight == 0) {

    $free_shipping = true;

    include(DIR_WS_LANGUAGES . $osC_Session->value('language') . '/modules/order_total/ot_shipping.php');

    }

     

    You will need to set the tare weight to zero or set the number in the IF statement to equal your tare weight.

  14. I sell a few items that drop ship for me but I take that out of my profit. What I did was set the items weight to 0 and they just get charged my tare weight for shipping. I would like to give them free shipping but this works for now.


  15. Your shipping charges are set in the shipping modules section of your admin page. If you are using UPS just enable the UPS module andset the variables in the module to your own settings and set the product weight in the product description. Remember to set your tare weight and shipping zipcode in the configuration/shipping/packaging part of your admin section.

     

    If you are using a flat rate just set that up in the shipping module.

    I hope this was some help, I am kind of new also but my shipping works OK.


  16. Are the UPS surcharges being charged to you by UPS but not being figured in your store correctly? I have this problem with rural addresses, I know when this happens because it is usually $1.75 higher when I process the shipment with UPS. I am just telling myself that its still a sale, better than no sale.

  18. I am trying to uninstall all of the IPN version 2.3 I could not get into my admin area or customers could not log on to their accounts. I have most things working again, except I can not get onto my admin payment module I get the following warning

    Ther is no or was there ever the above file why does it seem to need it to work? Where do I fix this? I go to what I think is line 128 and I can't see anything that is obvious.

  19. I have installed the master password found in the how to pages here MASTER PASSWORD It worked great on my first try. I logged into my customers account and there was his shopping cart, still full so I proccessed it to get it into my system and I am so HAPPY that it WORKS!!!!


  20. This seems to be a problem with Paypal. I have the same problem. I fixed it for most orders by going to my paypal account and setting the auto return feature to this page in my catalog/checkout_success.php It still doesn't work every time, some people are to quick to close their browser before they return to my site and I still don't get the order.


  21. Which Paypal IPN Contrib have you installed to get your store working fine? I see a few out there. I set my Paypal account on Paypal to auto return and it works MOST of the time. I think that people don't want to wait the 10 seconds that it takes to auto return and close their browser to soon. So I want to install IPN but I want the version that works best.
