    clustersolutions got a reaction from JcMagpie in Laravel Ecommerce System
    Yeah, I ran a few Magento stores on an AWS micro or Digital Ocean $10 instances. Yeah, you want something more powerful during the development, but once it goes production with cache configured you can run them in micro instances. In a sense it is no more difficult than any carts. But should you need to run them in a cluster, it is a whole different ball game especially in terms of costs. Also, hiring a "good" Magento engineer/developer most likely will cost more than other carts. And as much as Magento has an awesome upgrade feature, but there are a few changes between V2 and V1 that are not making it easy on V1 with lots of customized features when it comes time to upgrade. So enter Shopify...running an eCommerce site is just that, and it should not be about "builiding software"...and let's pay someone else to worry about keeping my cart running in the cloud....

    Hmm...true, clean code is important...
    I don't know if this banaid is better than the previous one,  but they both offer a similar solution.
    I would really do a var_dump($text_array) or print_r($text_array) just before the foreach statement to get a stack trace of the argument. You really need to know why PHP was complaining. In fact, the foreach statement wasn't just looking for an array, and it was expecting an associative array.
    FWR is a smart dude, I would definitely understood why before deciding on a fix. That would be my approach...some upstream setting may just fix the warning.

    @Portman  This is where you can make it happen...it was a simple module.
    https://github.com/clustersolutions/osc-price-display-members-only/blob/9f3970e9e8dbf8deabe2100dbb5ff69a5db5e9c4/catalog/includes/modules/bootstrap/bt_price_display.php#L67
    You will need to make sure that the $customers_group_id was already registered as a session variable  before this module. Modify the if conditional statement to validate $customers_group_id per your requirements..
    if (tep_session_is_registered('customer_id') && tep_session_is_registered('customers_group_id') && $customers_group_id > 0 && defined(MODULE_BOOTSTRAP_PRICE_DISPLAY_STATUS) && MODULE_BOOTSTRAP_PRICE_DISPLAY_STATUS == 'True') { . . . I hope this make sense...but you need to test it to be sure.

    Hi All..
    The forum software has just been updated to the latest software version, and there are heavy duty tasks still running in the background that will probably take until tomorrow to complete. This includes reindexing all topics and postings (searching will not work until this is complete), reindexing status updates and activities, recounting statistics, and merging the German forum postings into the new German Community club.
    The user accounts from the German forum have successfully been merged into this community. This is a start to adding international support to this forum using the Clubs feature of the forum software to separate foreign communities from the main English content.
    As the forum software update included changes to the user account integration with our main websites, logins and new signups were disabled during the downtime (preventing App Marketplace downloads, sorry) and are now fully functional again.
    Please post here any quirks you may experience regarding the forum software update or user account issues from our main websites.
    Thanks!
    PS, I'm fine. Thanks to those who contacted me in the past. Announcements will be published soon.

    Not entirely true, it can still be merged, but may be with a little more work...
    From Ben Parker: "with power also comes great responsibility..."
    It's time for unity...I doubt there'll be much income generating possibility until a more sounded user base.

    I think I would keep uncoupling html and php in my mind, but if it is easy peasy I would say go for it.
    Remember, V3 ended with the attempt to uncouple html and php, and 2.4 I think had an attempt to do that also. You don't want to continue diving into the deep end. You know you can borrow from existing framework's MVC?
    Oh, for now, again...you probably have a full plate.

    The oscTemplate is already MV
    The C(ontroller) is missing couse of the lack of decent classes.
    And yes could use routes.

    Still, using the oscTemplate like we use it now.
    Comes closest to an MVC.
    Backporting to an MVC with only MV is much more easier.

    The only thing is I am indifferent with $oscTemplate...I don't know if I am ready to put effort into it except for whatever's avail. Don't ask me why, it's just a gut thing for now...

    Trying footer scripts in admin dashboard modules:
        $oscTemplate->addBlock($_js . PHP_EOL, 'footer_scripts'); Calling footer scripts in admin template_bottom.php:
    <?php echo $oscTemplate->getBlocks('footer_scripts'); ?> Working perfectly!

    Good catch, changed it back to BOOTSTRAP_CONTENT (it is unused at the moment).

    I haven't make any changes in the .sql.
    This error should go away assoon you visit:
    https://yourdomain.com/admin/modules_admin_content.php

    $check_query = tep_db_query("select configuration_value from " . TABLE_CONFIGURATION . " where configuration_key = 'MODULE_ADMIN_CONTENT_INSTALLED' limit 1"); if (tep_db_num_rows($check_query) < 1) { tep_db_query("insert into " . TABLE_CONFIGURATION . " (configuration_title, configuration_key, configuration_value, configuration_description, configuration_group_id, sort_order, date_added) values ('Installed Modules', 'MODULE_ADMIN_CONTENT_INSTALLED', '', 'This is automatically updated. No need to edit.', '6', '0', now())"); define('MODULE_ADMIN_CONTENT_INSTALLED', ''); } Same for modules_admin.php?set=XXXXX

    I hv not looked at the internals of BS since 2014...
    So to check it out I have just merged the latest and greatest...frozen and this admin...

    No doubt! Admin is very important. Reporting, machine learning, marketing like email campaign, integration with Sendgrid/MailChimp and etc. That stuffs are important for conversions. How many of you actually use the products_view data? And how many of you know products_view indiscriminately tracks robot clicks (at least the last time I checked it) too? Just imagine if the "admin" would collect all the clicks and etc of a user session and gaining insight on visitor habits...it's gonna be in admin.
