  1. I am using STS no problem but I was wondering if there is a way to add a template for the front index page only. Index.php.html unfortunately loads the template anytime index.php is used. I know I could use a static page but I would like to keep the page as part of the store.
  2. thebert you are on the right track with making individual pages for each PHP script. So for product_info.php you would make a template called product_info.php.html and put it into your template directory. The variables that you saw are the key to STS, as you can use them to put osCommerce info anywhere on a page. So by using $myaccount you can put the My Account information where ever you desire on your template pages.
  3. Oh yeah, I also had to create a php.ini file with register_globals = 1; in it, to my root directory to get osCommerce to work. ;)
  4. I was getting the problem of only the default template loading for every page. I read that if you: // $scriptname = getenv('SCRIPT_NAME'); this worked but also this worked: $scriptname = getenv('PATH_INFO'); I kept the latter as it seemed better. The original code was pasing : Is there an explanation of why this happens? Will it effect STS any? The server is using: Either way hopefully this will help somebody else. <_<
  5. Basically in the stantard osCommerce anything that is in <head></head> does not get added to the top of my site's generated pages. The click to enlarge is a javascript generated popup window for a larger picture of your product. Here it is in product_info.php (with hard returns so it wraps): <script language="javascript"><!-- function popupWindow(url) { window.open(url,'popupWindow','toolbar=no,location=no,directories=no,status=no, menubar=no,scrollbars=no,resizable=yes,copyhistory=no,width=100, height=100,screenX=150,screenY=150,top=150,left=150') } //--></script> As a matter of fact none of the code in the <head></head> of product_info.php is used. I added the code to my sts_user_code.php so I can get the dynamic title and meta tags to be generated. Almost all of the problems have been fixed with work arounds I have devised but like I said it is peculiar. Also the HTC doesnot work for me at all once I add meta information to a product (product page becomes blank). All I get when using view source of the page is the meta tags and meta tag description is the full product description instead of what I put. This whole HTC thing is starting to look like more of a headache than it is worth, and by using what product_info.php was originally supposed to do, not really needed. Later
  6. If only it were that easy. Not only have I tried that and <!--$headcontent--> and <!-- $headcontent --> and about every combination in between. I even tried searching for every reference of headcontent in the STS files to see if I can find where it is being added and still no dice. It's not such a big deal because manually adding it to the STS template files (xxxx.php.html) works but it's still peculiar. Later
  7. Was that in the STS documentation? I don't remember seeing not to put it only that you don't have to modify the /catalog directory files. Well it's a good thing I test everything with Mozilla also or else I would have been pounding my head against the monitor for a while. And if it helped you also Jeff then my pain was not all a waste. Also Jack since you know STS I am having a problem with the information at the top the page not being added. I noticed this because the click to enlarge was not working. In view source the proper javascript was not being added to the top of the generated pages. I got around this by adding it manually and it works now. Have you ever heard of this or seen a fix? Later
  8. I sort of fixed the problem (enough that it now seems to work) by commenting out the application_top part in the instructions. I decided to do this because Mozilla complained that the header_tags.php and clean_html_comments.php were being declared twice. Anyway it seems to work properly now but has anybody else had the problem mentioned above with STS. This hack doesn't seem like a fix but it does work. Here is the code section of application_top (if you were confused about my explanation): // BOF: WebMakers.com Added: Header Tags Controller v1.0 // require(DIR_WS_FUNCTIONS . 'header_tags.php'); // Clean out HTML comments from ALT tags etc. // require(DIR_WS_FUNCTIONS . 'clean_html_comments.php'); Later
  9. I installed Header Tags Controller v2.2 and for some reason it is not working. In admin for the products the fields show up but when I try to view my website it is a blank page. Viewing source only shows <!-- Page layout by Simple Template System (STS) - http://www.diamondsea.com/sts/ --> I thought STS integrated HTC automagically but it seems there is an issue with me or STS. My website works fine now only because I removed /includes/header_tags.php so it reverts back to normal titles. Anyway if anybody could help that would be great.

    PDF Catalogs V1.4

Oh well I guess nobody cares. I guess I will try and figure it out how to parse the gifs myself (the FPDF site is pretty useful).

I think that is your PHP configuration file that the code is supposed to be added to. I don't know alot about Zend but php.ini is the configuration file for PHP (on my windows test machine it is in the WINNT folder). If you are hosted I think you would have to ask to have it added to the php.ini file but I am no expert on how to configure PHP. The PHP Website would probably be very useful and Zend's Website.
  12. I don't know if this should be a contribution or not but when using PDF Catalogs V1.4 you cannot use GIF images. While researching why it seems that the fpdf.php file is main reason as it creates the PDF. I edited it to use a default.jpg file instead and it seems to work fine now (of course all GIF images are replaced by the one JPG). I tried the gif update for FPDF but still it didnot parse gifs (apparently you can only use gifs that are in the base directory unless you modify gif.php). If anybody has had luck modifying the gif.php to use remote GIFs that would be fantastic. The website for FPDF is here for those of you who know more about PHP than me (which is next to nothing) and can get it to work with GIFs. Anyway I like this contribution a lot so I would like to make as useful as possible. To see how the default.jpg works you can check out a working version on my Website. It's Ninja Gaiden
