    ECHO INC PAYMENT MOD

Hmmm... assuming you're running the latest version of the mod, I'm at a loss... Have you tried emailing the contribution authors?

It sounds from the errors that your hosting plan does not support SLL. You should be able to check with your hosting provider to see...

Quick look at the Features section of Contributions has what you want and more, I think. For example: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1174

    ECHO INC PAYMENT MOD

Thanks for posting as a contribution. Are you aware of any conflicts with the CVS version of OSC?
  6. Ian, Any guess on when a version compatible with the New Account (post 5/18) might be complete? Thanks.
  7. Ian, Well, I'll trust you then. After all, you're an accountant! ;)
  8. Please forgive my ignorance Ian, but will the GV code be integrated into the new My Account part of OSC. I'm guessing that's what you meant by having to consider updating to the current CVS. Related to this and based on the recently revised workboard, I'm guessing that we're not far from seeing MS2 being released. Seeing the Weight Conversion Class being moved to MS3 leaves only two items left: an update of the Payment/Shipping Status Icons and a Security Audit of the new changes to the code. Here's hoping for a June 1st surprise!
  9. Constant updates to the code base is like trying to hit a moving target. It can be entirely too frustrating and I definitely empathise with your pain. I thought the MS releases were supposed to be the officially supported releases, but it looks like many contributors seem to try to keep up with the CVS code base. It's a catch 22... But, if you've got a store that's working, I say go live with it! When MS2 rolls around, make the decision to update or not. If your store's still working well and generating income then be happy and pass. MS3 may just finally hit many people's desire to really start seeing some true seperation of data, presentation and business logic. When and if that finally happens, things will start getting very interesting, indeed! :D
  10. Do you mean the Linda's (Ajeh) Shoppe Enhancement Controller? If so, I'm interested, too, to know if anyone's been successful in integrating this with Ian's wonderful GV Contribution.

Echo has a pretty good deal. Their account application, though, seriously needs to be revised in the manner in which it is handled. Everything is done via the mail... An online application for most of the basic stuff would be a tremendous start.

FWIW, our box is a Plesk 5 server on a RH 7.3 install. We've updated to PHP 4.3, too...

I've been testing (successfully) the cart as well on Ian's Loaded 5 snapshot. Make sure they have you listed in the system for being able to do test transactions. Like USPS shipping, a quick call could save some strife. Also, you might remove the ">" symbol. It's an unneeded leftover from the old way they handled their accounts, and removing it won't negatively affect anything.
  15. Any work happening on encrypting the order ID for security purposes? This is a great replacement for the last step in the checkout process. Now, if someone would just combine the payment and shipping pages... (Still wishing I was remotely competent at creating code...)

    New theme contibution

I noticed this contribution won't work on the Loaded 4 snapshot from www.phesis.co.uk, and therefore am guessing it won't work on the current CVS release... Is this in fact the case? Thanks!

    New theme contibution

May be too late based on Paul's October post and his subsequent taking down of the install instructions... 1) Does anyone have a copy of the install procedure that's no longer available from his website? 2) How would one go about updating from the original Thema contribution to Paul's improved version? Thanks!

    Repeat order function

That sounds like an excellent addition! Would be great to accomodate both hard goods (repeat orders only when specified by the user) and periodic services (subscription billing).
  19. Sorry for the confusion... I'd focus on what you need. I'll probably order the stock forms with the 4.5x7 label at the bottom. Hopfully I'll be able to get them microperf'd and in 8.5x14. A4 paper size isn't really all that common in the states. Thanks for your help!
  20. Whatever works for printing out a web-generated UPS/FedEx shipping label. I think that means a 4.5"x5" for FedEx (wide) and 4.5"x6" (tall) for UPS. I'd say order 4.5x6 and rotate graphics on form if needed for FedEx. (That's roughly 115mmx153mm for those viewing this from across the pond :) ) The 4.5x6 size on the right side of an invoice/shipping sheet is a pretty big chunk of real estate. Paul might have a stock die to manufacture the integrated label forms so there won't have to be any custom die setup charge. I've found several places with 4.5x2" labels on 8.5x11" paper at the top for under $100 per 1500 forms. My gut feeling tells me that they're all reselling the same forms from the same supplier. In fact, I think there is a standard 4.5x7" label across the bottom of the page that would work out of the box, although that eats a lot of form real estate. Maybe that's why the original scan of the label/form at the top of this page was on legal (8.5x14 paper)... BTW, what company is Paul from any way?
  21. Here's a few more alternatives. No direct experiece, but thought it was worth a shot... http://www.relyco.com/integrated_labels.htm http://www.chicagotag.com/labeltag.htm Hope this helps.

    OSC-Affiliate

Im working on a great reports system for another project im working on and may be able to modify it to suit. As for a referrerID well i dont think you want to be paying an affiliate comissions 12 months later just for him bringing the customer to your site once.....I think the adjustable cookie is enough for this. An alternative is to use Ian's module where an offercode can be created, but ill have to have a look into that. Thinking about this from an MLM Affiliate perspective, though, it is important to be able to determine the original source of the referral. (Whether or not something is paid on it is another issue entirely! The rules to determine if they qualify for a commission payment and/or bonuses can be very complicated and tricky. Commissions calculation, therefore, is another module that would need to be developed, but that's another issue entirely...) Further, in many MLM/Affiliate programs, people are paid commissions on the sales of people that were referred by people that they referred. In fact, this can go 3, 4, 5 or more levels deep so that the person is in fact getting commissions on people she may have never even met! Therefore, I think being able to pull a periodic report for each person that sumarizes personal purchases, and includes that person's parent ID would be a way to facilitate getting the appropriate information to a commission payment module. Maybe throw in new referrals for that period as well just for grins. This could be dumped to a CSV or Excel file (or whatever), for processing externally, I guess. Does this make sense?

    OSC-Affiliate

I may be inserting my foot into my mouth for not studying features a lot, but two things that I think would be very important are: 1) Adding a "referrerID" to customer accounts. This would allow for calculating commissions on all sales even if the person later comes back for repeat purchases at a later date directly to the site, and not via an affiliate's link. Along with this, need to be able to export daily/weekly/monthly reports of all sales including the customer, referrer ID, products/dollars, etc. 2) (And from the sourceforge dept...) Allow for automatic and recurring billing at a customer specified interval. This would first check to see if the credit card could be automatically billed, bill the card if so, etc. Good items that get used up every month like inkjet cartridges, nutritional products, hosting fees, monthly memberships, etc. I believe Steve is working on #2 but has a way to go due to changing checkout code in the CVS. I'm not sure about #1.

    Subscription billing module

Any update on subscription-billing so people can autoship products. This would be good for sites selling things like vitamins, beauty products, hosting services, etc. If it is done, could you kindly point us in the right direction? (And I hope it doesn't require PayPal's service, but will work with it as an option...)
