  1. Looked up the virtual product but it is an install and recommends that it is tested on another setup before deploying to the live site. I don't have the time or resources to build another cart like this one to test. Anyone have any idea why the table rate is a charging with the weight of 0? Is there something that tells it to charge the base amount for any product and if so how can I designate for it not to charge for products that weigh 0?
  2. Thanks very much for all the great input. Sorry I wasn't more forthcoming with info. I'm using the table rate and I have the weight set to zero. That was kind of the no brainer approach I thought would work. But it adds shipping equal to one. Reason I went with that was because we are selling commemorative watches and for defined quantities there is a given shipping charge. It seems to work great. I have the tare weight set to 0 and each watch set to 1. I thought setting the donation weight to 0 would prevent it from charging shipping but that isn't the case. The suggestion about the virtual product sounds good. I'm going to look that up but any suggestions where to look would be appreciated.
  3. Hello, I have a cart that is working good for the most part but it has 2 classes of items. One is a material product that is bought and shipped and I'm using the table for that and it is working OK. However, we are a charity and there is a donation in the cart and we don't want it to be charged shipping as it is just a donation. But the cart charges the minimum amt for shipping. How can I designate the donations to not get charged shipping?
  4. Hi all, I'm having a problem with the Authorize.net module. Everything works fine including the transaction however, when the purchase is made rather than go back to the website I end up at an error page that says "An error occurred while trying to report this transaction to the merchant. An e-mail has been sent to the merchant informing them of the error. The following is the result of the attempt to charge your credit card. This transaction has been approved. It is advisable for you to contact the merchant to verify that you will receive the product or service." The URL is https://secure.authorize.net/gateway/transact.dll Any thoughts please would be welcome.
  5. That was it!!! :-) thanks so very much!
  6. Hi all, I posted back on the 14th with no response yet. I'm trying to use the table rate shipping. I gave each product a weight of 1. When I order 1 product it charges me the second tier of shipping price. I have it set up as follows. 3:6.00,10:14.00,20:24.00,40:28.00,60:34.00,80:36.00,100:42.00 Thinking that up to 3 would be charged $6 4- 10 would be $14 and so on.
  7. Hi and thanks for reading. I'm relatively new to OScommerces as far as adding new modules. I've been plinking around in it for a year or so but never needed to add anything as what I needed was already there. Now I have a site that needs the linkpoint API installed and it seems to me it isn't that hard but I think I wore out the developers as they stopped responding to my emails. Here is what I understand and please correct me if I'm wrong. I download the mod from here http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/4255 Now according to what I've read I have to have an SSL, the PEM file placed on the server and port 1129 open for this to work. I then take the files in the zip and upload them to the server in their respective places and I should then be able to go in the admin of OScommerce and see the newly added mod. However; I tried that once before and didn't see it so I loaded up the 'linkpoint connect' one that is for html transactions and that seemed to work. So I went in and deleted just the linkpoint items and when I went back into the admin almost everything was gone. Paypal and a bunch of other things were not showing up anymore. So since I don't have a lot of items we deleted that install of OScommerce and the associated DB and reinstalled and everythign was back. Now before I go in and try this again I want to make sure I understand what I'm doing better. Is the process I laid out correct?
  8. Hello, I've spent some time in the forum reading but am just not clear on something. I'm trying to set up the shipping so that 1-3 items cost X, 4-10 cost Y and 11-20 cost Z... I set it up using the table rate and giving each item a weight of 1 thinking that would work. So I put in "3:6.00,10:18.00,20:24.00,40:28.00,60:34.00,80:36.00,100:42.00" thinking it would charge $6.00 for up to 3, $18.00 for up to 10 but it isn't working like that. If I order 1 item it charges $18.00 for shipping. If i order 10 it charges $24. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
