Hi Guys, I have a question. I downloaded and installed this last week, but I have resisted modifying my site in any way as I wasn't sure how stable or final this contribution is? In reading this thread i got the impression that there was going to be an updated version soon? Is this still the case, or am I safe to start building my site? I'm very grateful for this contribution and I look forward to using it. I had been building a site using STS 4, but I found it very difficult to make quite a few other contibutions work with it (especially adding new boxes). I'm hoping this will be slightly easier? One other thing; when I uploaded this contribution over a fresh osc install, I noticed that there is no faqs.php? I have a link in my information box to an faq page but don't seem to have the php file for one? Also, I haven't had a good look yet, so this may be a stupid question, but in terms of moving items in my site (like infoboxes) how do I do this? In STS it was done through an html page. I understand how to use CSS on a basic level. I'm just wondering how I set which boxes are in the left and right columns for example? Thanks in advance for your help. My very best wishes, Tom

Hi Bill, I'm hoping you can help me? I want to have 'Use template for infoboxes' set to 'true' (because it looks better), but when I do, the infobox header for the main new items box towards the bottom of the page (the bit that says 'new items for september' etc) disappears. The infobox headers for the infoboxes in the columns remain. I know that this must be because of a setting in my template, but I don't know what it is? I presume it's something in the sts_template.html file, but when I open it and look at the code I can't see what it might be? As always, I really appreciate any help you can offer. Many thanks and my very best wishes, Tom P.S. My website is here

Simple Multi Image Add-on (Un-Limited) with FancyBox Popups
discobob83 replied to spooks's topic in General Add-Ons Support
Hi All, I installed this contribution a couple of weeks ago (It worked perfectly and I love it!) but I just installed the comodo 'corner of trust' logo on my site and it appears to have stopped the popup images from working correctly. (They now open in a new standard browser window.) I know that the 'corner of trust' logo uses javascript, and I'm guessing there's some kind of conflict, but I'm way over my head with stuff like this and don't know what the problem is or how to remedy it? So please, if you're someone who may be able to help, I would be incredibly grateful for any help at all. My very best wishes, Tom P.S. My site is here: http://www.obtds.co.uk -

repeating background images relative to page length?
discobob83 replied to discobob83's topic in Templates and Images
I've found a (clumsy) workaround for this, so no longer need help thanks. -
Hi All, I'm using a template and I'm having a problem aligning a couple of elements. Here is my site: http://www.obtds.co.uk As you can see, I have repeated two images down the vertical axis to give an outer glow effect. For some reason these images start beneath the banner at the top of the page (even though they are set to "top: 0px;") When I set them to " top: -250px;", they then start from the top of the page but they don't repeat all the way to the bottom (they stop 250 px short.) You can see here: How do I fix this? Thanks in advance, Tom

repeating background images relative to page length?
discobob83 replied to discobob83's topic in Templates and Images
Hi All, Ok I've made some progress and discovered that I just needed to set the image height to 100% instead of a pixel number. I now have a new problem. For some reason the right_shadow and left_shadow images start beneath the banner at the top of the page (even though they are set to "top: 0px;") When I set them to " top: -250px;", they then start from the top of the page but they don't repeat all the way to the bottom (they stop 250 px short.) You can see here: http://www.obtds.co.uk How do I fix this? Thanks in advance, Tom -
Hi, I'm a newbie here, but I can answer this question as I had the same dilemma. Yes, public_html is your catalog folder. Someone more experienced should be able to help with any other questions. Best Wishes, Tom

repeating background images relative to page length?
discobob83 posted a topic in Templates and Images
Hi All, I've just added an image to my website that creates the effect of glowing outer edges when the site is aligned in the center. I think it looks good, but I have a problem. Obviously different pages in the site are different lengths and the lengths of all pages vary frequently based on content, so I wondered whether it is possible to somehow set the properties of the image so that the 'height' is relative to the page length? So that the glowing edge is the same length as the various boxes that make up the page? This is my site: http://www.obtds.co.uk and this is my stylesheet below (the glowing edge effect files are 'left_shadow.jpg' ad 'right_shadow.jpg') I am hugely appreciative of any and all help; I think you guys are amazing! :) Best Wishes, Tom -
Hi Sijo, Thanks so much! That's worked perfectly. The flyout is working and the boxes are positioned correctly. I don't know how you solved this problem, but I'm incredibly thankful that you did. I am extremely grateful for all your help - You're a legend! :) Many, many thanks and my very best wishes, Tom

Hi Sijo, Whoah! Progress!! Ok I removed the </div> and now when I hover over the menu the subcategory boxes appear but they are floating out in the middle of the page. Is this something I can remedy in the styleshhet or in dm_categories.php? I am just so happy to have made some progress. You are awesome!! How did you know to remove the </div> tag and why did that work? Thanks so, so much!!!! My very best wishes, Tom

Hi Sijo, Cool thanks! I just downloaded the grep program and that worked. I found this line in my sts_template.html file: and this in my template stylesheet: Should I remove the </div> from the end of: Thanks aain, Tom

It did look like that, but I'd only just done that (I have tried coipying and pasting a number of variations of the code) It now looks like this: (Is this still wrong?) This is my dm_categories file: I couldn't find this line in my index.php file and the template folder doesn't have an index file. My includes/modules/sts folder has a file called sts_index.php but that doesn't have that line either (I tried using the edit/find... function to be sure but could find no reference to the website name at all.) I know I'm doing something wrong and probably being iincredibly stupid, but I'm not worries about my pride, I just want to figure out how to make it work. Thanks again for taking the time to help. It means a lot. Best Wishes, Tom

Hi Sijo, Thanks so much for replying! I do have that code at the bottom of both of those files, but is it possible I've placed it wrongly or something? I really can't tell you how much I appreciate you trying to help me. :) This is what the files look like at the moment: footer.php: application_bottom.php (entire file): Best Wishes, Tom

Hi All, I'm not sure if this is the right section for this (I have sts installed, but I'm not sure if it's relevant?) but was just wondering whether it's possible to align the arrows at the top of the infoboxes so that they are exactly aligned within the columns? (i.e. all the way to the right, so that they are ligned up vertically?) Would really appreciate any advice. Many thanks in advance and my very best wishes, Tom P.S. I also asked a question in the 'dynamenu' thread as I'm really struggling to get the flyout menu working with STS (Despite trying my hardest to follow all instructions and reading the entire forum thread. I'm doing something wrong. I just don't know what.)
