  1. I guess you can delete this thread. I seem to have solved the problem. First, you can increase the field size of the configuration table's configuration_value field, from 255 characters to, say, 2500 characters. but in this case I found a better solution. I installed the MultiGeoZone MultiTable mod, and one of the 'mods' to THAT mod that people released has a way where you list your shipping table with 1 or 2 weights/prices, and then you set one more that will increase the price by a certain amount for every X weight / price. So I no longer needed a huge list for my shipping table.
  2. I guess you can delete this thread cos I found the issue... I *think* it was to do with the Admin -> Configuration -> Shipping / Packaging settings... Setting your maximum package size to 0 thinking that this means 'unlimited' is a bad idea - I have put 99999999. As for the 'Package Tare Weight', this must be 0 and the "large package surcharge thingy" I've set to 0.
  3. The Zone Rates module is working okay except it is giving the shipping price as the handling fee only. Example: The customer's order weighs 400g, the shipping table is: 100:3.45,200:6.9,300:10.35,400:13.8,500:17.25,600:20.7,700:24.15,800:27.6,900:31.05,1000:34.5,1100:37.95,1200:41.4,1300:44.85,1400:48.3,1500:51.75,1600:55.2,1700:58.65,1800:62.1,1900:65.55,2000:69,2100:72.45,2200:75.9,2300:79.35,2400:82.8,2500:86.25,2600: the handling fee is: 44 when the customer checks out it say: Zone Rates: R44.00 it should be: 44 + 13.8 = R57.8
  4. How do you delete a thread with no posts? I figured out how to make more than one 'shipping option' by installing a mod I think it's called "additional shipping options for zone module plus percentage" by Deryk Wenaus I tried to solve the space limitation by increasing the field size of the configuration_value field from 255 to 2500 -- which in theory will work but it's a terrible solution --I have started a new thread for this issue Now I have a new problem: The shipping module is not incorporation the WEIGHT into its calculation at all - it puts only the handling fee. For example if I have a list like this 100:8.50,200:10.50,300:20.00 with a handling fee of 44, it will say the shipping cost is 44, even though the weight is 150 or whatever.
  5. For my zone it must simply charge 3.45 per 100g, but here's what that looks like and there's not enough space: 100:3.45,200:6.9,300:10.35,400:13.8,500:17.25,600:20.7,700:24.15,800:27.6,900:31.05,1000:34.5,1100:37.95,1200:41.4,1300:44.85,1400:48.3,1500:51.75,1600:55.2,1700:58.65,1800:62.1,1900:65.55,2000:69,2100:72.45,2200:75.9,2300:79.35,2400:82.8,2500:86.25,2600:89.7,2700:93.15,2800:96.6,2900:100.05,3000:103.5,3100:106.95,3200:110.4,3300:113.85,3400:117.3,3500:120.75,3600:124.2,3700:127.65,3800:131.1,3900:134.55,4000:138,4100:141.45,4200:144.9,4300:148.35,4400:151.8,4500:155.25,4600:158.7,4700:162.15,4800:165.6,4900:169.05,5000:172.5,5100:175.95,5200:179.4,5300:182.85,5400:186.3,5500:189.75,5600:193.2,5700:196.65,5800:200.1,5900:203.55,6000:207,6100:210.45,6200:213.9,6300:217.35,6400:220.8,6500:224.25,6600:227.7,6700:231.15,6800:234.6,6900:238.05,7000:241.5,7100:244.95,7200:248.4,7300:251.85,7400:255.3,7500:258.75,7600:262.2,7700:265.65,7800:269.1,7900:272.55,8000:276,8100:279.45,8200:282.9,8300:286.35,8400:289.8,8500:293.25,8600:296.7,8700:300.15,8800:303.6,8900:307.05,9000:310.5,9100:313.95,9200:317.4,9300:320.85,9400:324.3,9500:327.75,9600:331.2,9700:334.65,9800:338.1,9900:341.55,10000:345,10100:348.45,10200:351.9,10300:355.35,10400:358.8,10500:362.25,10600:365.7,10700:369.15,10800:372.6,10900:376.05,11000:379.5,11100:382.95,11200:386.4,11300:389.85,11400:393.3,11500:396.75,11600:400.2,11700:403.65,11800:407.1,11900:410.55,12000:414,12100:417.45,12200:420.9,12300:424.35,12400:427.8,12500:431.25,12600:434.7,12700:438.15,12800:441.6,12900:445.05,13000:448.5,13100:451.95,13200:455.4,13300:458.85,13400:462.3,13500:465.75,13600:469.2,13700:472.65,13800:476.1,13900:479.55,14000:483,14100:486.45,14200:489.9,14300:493.35,14400:496.8,14500:500.25,14600:503.7,14700:507.15,14800:510.6,14900:514.05,15000:517.5,15100:520.95,15200:524.4,15300:527.85,15400:531.3,15500:534.75,15600:538.2,15700:541.65,15800:545.1,15900:548.55,16000:552,16100:555.45,16200:558.9,16300:562.35,16400:565.8,16500:569.25,16600:572.7,16700:576.15,16800:579.6,16900:583.05,17000:586.5,17100:589.95,17200:593.4,17300:596.85,17400:600.3,17500:603.75,17600:607.2,17700:610.65,17800:614.1,17900:617.55,18000:621,18100:624.45,18200:627.9,18300:631.35,18400:634.8,18500:638.25,18600:641.7,18700:645.15,18800:648.6,18900:652.05,19000:655.5,19100:658.95,19200:662.4,19300:665.85,19400:669.3,19500:672.75,19600:676.2,19700:679.65,19800:683.1,19900:686.55,20000:690 Any advice??? Also I need to have a way to "duplicate" the zone shipping module so that there's one for Airmail and one for Surface Mail (ships). Any advice on that?
  6. I need some advice or a point in the right direction... My shipping cost is calculated by destination country, by putting a base rate, and then adding a rate per 100g. So for example if the total order weighs 500g: for the uk... for airmail... The base rate is 137.55 and the price per 100g is 11.35 Total = 137.55 + (5 * 11.35) = 194.30 To make matters worse, I also want to offer surface mail, which is the same concept: for the uk... The base rate is 129.95 and 2.45 per 100g Total = 129.95 + (5 * 2.45) = 141.15 So I look at the pre-installed shipping module "Zone Rates" which seems to be the closest match that comes with OS, and for each zone it wants the shipping prices listed like this: "3:8.50,7:10.50,99:20.00" So for me I'd have to type out each 100g as follows: 100:11.35, 200:22.70, 300:34.05 .. all the way up to 20kg .. 20000:2270 that makes 200 calculations Then I need a "duplicate" of the "Zone Rates" module for Surface Mail -- any idea how to do duplicates? I could consider writing my own module -- but I'd need advice on what should go where and how to integrate it into the OS system.
