  1. Great Contribution, one question. I was muddling through your code in hopes of adding debug_print_backtrace to help chase down the source of my errors. Given the multi-layered setup of osCommerce (or most apps in general) having just the top level "hey this is failing" isn't always that helpful. Is this even possible?
  2. In general, when creating add-ons or new classes, should you save an instance of the class object as a Session variable if the class instance is user specific? Is that considered a best practice?

    authorize.net problems

Kudos to Jeff Wigal's error messaging code, that has helped me out immensely, the information about Payment Form Fields were essential as well. Also wanted to note that AVS and CVV are not validated when you are in "Test Mode". "Test Mode" being Transaction Server "Live", Transaction Mode "Test".

    [Contribution] STS v4

I want to create a template for the review pages (product_reviews.php, product_reviews_info.php) but I am unsure on how to go about this and I've searched and found some info but not 100% clear on what I need to do. What I want to be able to do is to create a content template for the two above files. I like the layout I have in the sts_template.html and I just want to create content templates much like you create a content template for product_info.php.html. I thought all you had to do was to create the product_reviews.php.html and product_reviews_info.php.html files and put them into the sts_templates/mytemplate/content/ directory. But this doesn't work. Can it be done this way? What am I missing? Thanks

Store checks out to PayPal WITH NO ORDER DETAILS

sservat, I believe the IPN Notification URL setting in Paypal for your site should be: http://www.janecurrypublishing.com.au/catalog/checkout_process.php

    Paypal IPN for V2.2 RC2

ah, ok, so I am using it then. Looking at other threads on the board asking a similar question the answers implied that Paypal Standard and Paypal IPN where two different things. Just to verify (I have catalog in root of site): Paypal Website Payment Preferences Return URL = http://<your site>/checkout_success.php Instant Payment Notification Notification URL = http://<your site>/checkout_process.php and the Notification URL in IPN has nothing to do with: http://<my site>/ext/modules/payment/paypal/standard_ipn.php

    Paypal IPN for V2.2 RC2

I'd like to have more feedback on this as well. I'm currently trying to use the Web Standard contribution and running into issues. I read the one listed above is "the way to go". But I agree with Denkster that it is a mess at this moment. I hesitate to use it given the fact that it appears that it's not being maintained well.

    Website Payment Standard module modification

which PayPal IPN?, only one I could find was: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/2679 and the last full english update seems to be from March 4, 2009, all the more recent versions are either in german or one page bug fixes. so please, enlighten us as to which one you are referring to.

Bkellum, thank you for your assistance! What I found frustrating (seeing your code in action) is I figured out the what and where, it just didn't appear to work for me. What I mean by this is I added my own tag code to sts_user_code.php to test if it had access to the $cart object and it told me it didn't, so I didn't pursue that solution anymore. What I did was a simple: $sts->start_capture(); echo testme(); $sts->stop_capture('scart'); function testme() { $test = "Fail"; if (isset($cart)) { $test = "Success!"; } return $test; } and it returned as "Fail"

Hello, I'm a newb with oscommerce and STS (though I do have php and coding experience) and I'm in the process of figuring out how it all works together. I think I have a good enough handle on the basics. What I am trying to do (that I need help with) has to do with displaying shopping cart info. I'm trying to modify my template so it can show a shopping cart link with output showing the number of items in the shopping cart. I've already found posts that show how to do this and I've been able to generate what I want with one issue. The code that is generated is preceded and followed by: <img width="100%" height="1" border="0" alt="" src="images/pixel_trans.gif"> I don't want this. How do I go about doing this? I first tried putting the code I wrote in shopping_cart.php directly into the template file with no luck. So this leads me to believe that I either have to write a function that generates this code (and put the function where?) or there is a way to create the code in shopping_cart.php and suppress the pixel_trans.gif output.
