So first off, I want to say thank you to the community for keeping up with this module.
Second, I want to say thank you to the developer for keeping my original idea alive for weight thresholds for shipping services since my work on v3 API
Good job and this is much better than I could have done so kudos!  Love the idea to use the store owner email.  I posted an update once and left my email in the module code.  OOPS!  With this change it will never happen again :)
Lastly, I want to apologize for ditching the community after changing to v3 and never finishing the module.  But I'm glad someone took over and they did a good job.

Standard Post has changed. According to USPS, Standard Post is "Available for Zones 5-9, up to 70 lbs. Prices in Zones 1-4, up to 70 lbs, are only for the mailing of hazardous materials, live animals, or other items required to be shipped by ground/surface transportation." Additional fine print reads that it's only available at retail, so if you opt for online prices using this module you won't get rates anyways. Could probably override this restriction in a future update, or make it its own unique shipping module, but it seems USPS is passively persuading everything to jump to Priority Mail.

Parcel Select is a domestic business service, in the sense that it isn't a regular service you can find at your post office. On the USPS website, it would be classified under Business Solutions along with the Every Door Direct Mail and other crazy business shipping options like Critical Mail, Periodicals, Priority Mail Open & Distribute, etc. Most of these services, while cheaper, don't apply to the average person unless you have some sort of permit or agreement with the post office and ship a certain required volume per day/week/month. It also has its own Business Price Calculator, which I don't want to learn at all.

tl;dr -- No, switch to Priority Mail or other shipper instead of using Standard Post.

The email link issue has been around for some time if I recall. I don't remember if I ever looked at it properly since customers could just type in the code to redeem the amount during checkout. This isn't a text message issue, and is definitely something with the coding.

The settings for new customer GV is found in Configuration -> My Store

I'm working on this because I also use CCGV, but the much older one from osC v2.2 RC2a. I had installed its adapted 2012 version on a test osC 2.3.4 (which seemed to be working). But then deleted that test site in lieu of a test osC 2.3.3.4. I thought this module, being re-coded for this version, would come working out-of-the-box. Therefore, I installed this module for my osC 2.3.3.4 run. However, I haven't done much testing with my busy schedule. Your posts have made me realize just how much work needs to happen on this module to make it functional. And while I can post "quick" fixes for your individual needs, I'd much rather patch a majority of the necessary changes in one go (because there are more issues I found). Keep reporting and I'll keep a record of what needs to change.

I'm by no means a PHP coder (I mean, all I found were spelling errors), but I can figure things out. So with some patience, hopefully I can figure out how to make this add-on work later this month.

    Alan,

I noticed that 5 minutes after I uploaded the beta. That's why it's a beta. Again, use at your own risk.

It's been reworded and I'm just about to test it. The fields for handling correspond to the quantity of methods checkmarked. For example, if for Domestic Shipping Methods you checkmarked

    Method 1 - First-Class Mail® Letter
    Method 5 - Standard Post®
Method 7 - Priority Mail™ Flat Rate Envelope

Then for Domestic Flat Handling Fees, use only the first 3 lines (currently worded as First-Class regimark Letter, First-Class regimark Large Envelope, First-Class regimark Parcel).

Kudos to @@FlyingKites for providing a working usps.php file. I've fixed the file so that custom handling for USPS domestic services properly adds. After some testing, I'll attach the file in a new thread (or on the old USPS Methods thread). I've tried fixing this USPS Rate V4, Intl Rate V2 contribution to no avail.

We've upgraded our version to be php V5.3 compatible.

To recap, this is based on 5.2.1. It is current to 28 July 2013 changes. It works on 2.2, rc2a and 2.3. We've re-tested all options and services and believe they all work.

Please note the server is still set to staging. Go to lines 821-823 to reset to production.

You need to upload the file to modules/shipping. You need to uninstall then reinstall in Admin. Don't forget to make note of your settings before you uninstall.

Please don't email me directly asking for help on this. This forum is the only place I can giving free help. Keep your questions here so everyone can benefit.

I changed the server from "production.shippingapis.com" to "56.0.34.43" in two places in my UPSP.php and it works now!
