Mixed Content Error after installing SSL on site

RATS !!! I went ahead and made the change to the 3 lines to false to try it out and it did not work !!! I got an osCisd on the third or forth try and it still kicked back- log in does not work. Deleted ?osCsid=fm91ttmh8git8453e2kb3c0rl5 from after the index.php in the title bar and it will let me in. Why is this happening? How can I stop that id from coming in at the top?

Mixed Content Error after installing SSL on site

the above settings are my production admin session settings which are different from my test shop admin session settings below: BTW My test site works, Production has the glitch of not being able to get in: Sessions /tmp force cookie use false check ssl session id false check user agent false check ip address false recreate session true I thought there was something that the host was doing to reset cache every now and then because sometimes I could get in and sometimes not. The other night while I had them on the phone again, it started working before they touched anything. Probably a combination of closing my browser or trying another one, or using a different login id or whatever. So I was stumped again as to the cause. Them or me.... Now what I am noticing is I have the same exact problem and Branson Bean.... When I reread what he said I think we had the same issue to a T. At first I did not understand he talked about the osCsid. Now I see. When the osCsid is present in the address bar (I finally saw what he was talking about) Production side will not let me log in. If it is NOT there I can get in. If I remove it I CAN log in. So I am not sure what causes osCsid to pop up occasionally but if it happens on the test side it still lets me log in. I am still testing and trying to see what makes it show up, using chrome, explorer, etc. to see if this holds true each time. So there are 3 statements set to false on test which works vs production which occasionally fails....it has been virtually years since I worked with my files and I have no clue what these settings mean or how they changed. Should I make the change to have the production side match the test side and just keep testing? If this works my site may be completely fixed without any other changes. Basically only thing I changed was changing the first line in config for http_server from HTTP://www.... to HTTPS://www.... and removing the .htaccess that my host added to my main directory. Also many thanks to you all for your patience I hope this takes care of it...

Mixed Content Error after installing SSL on site

The latest thing I have is I can only get into the store now to log in if I have the host clear or purge the cache on the server at their end. Also an annoyance is that when I go to type the password in I would like it to be blank, not prefilled with other attempted passwords that have nothing to do with my login. Any way to clear that? Any idea why the server has to be cleared and log in only works a couple of times and then quits working? So close to fixing this....

Sadly, I dont know what I dont know, and that is sending me in an endless loop of learning, crashing my store and getting back to where I am still stuck with "Not being able to add to cart". Thank you again for helping. The latest thing I have is I can only get into the store now to log in if I have the host clear or purge the cache on the server at their end. Mixed Content Error after installing SSL on site

Hello. I am having the exact same problem with Hostmonster !!! Help... I already had an ssl certificate in my store on Hostmonster and ebay said the images that were hosted on hostmonster were not secure when called in on google chrome. My site images are ok on ebay thru chrome now after hostmonster supposedly cleared the cache on my site, and made them all secure, which is what started all this. That is the best answer I can get from them about what they did. They are at a loss as to why my images have the endpoint error as well and my shopping cart or login will not work. Initially those were the only two pages that the ssl was set up for. Now the cart stays empty and a person cannot log in anymore.

    Upgrading to the latest version

Is there a way to convert the databases from 2.2 to the new bootstrap version? I know there are references to using Myphpadmin but I am not familiar with the process. Are there scripts or help on this topic?
  10. I have an old oscommerce site with v2.2 RC2, yeah I know its old but I need to create all new site based on the old one quick. php v2 is too old for my server host. Tried 2.3.4 but it wont even start to load for the set up. WSOD. I don't have time for this nonsense. Last thing I can find is you all talk about a BS version and a BS Gold. Are there plenty of updates for it? From what you all are saying I don't understand any of it. Anyone speak English here? What's up with this? Which is newest? I don't want to do a total new set up and find there is something else right around the corner it won't work with. Anyway - who can point me in the right direction to hit the ground running? I thought I had the latest version, and I am finding out now no it is not. I liked the look and feel of it cause it reminded me of the 2.2 when I first did it. Why is the latest not on the normal oscommerce download page? I am seeing samples of it and it is a white space and weird. Not what I am used to. Will it be hard for me to make my store look like the old store? Don't tell me this is the new trend - I hate it. Help....
  11. Ok then I am at square one again. I did everything I possibly can see to do with the base install except the h1 tags. That would not be practical for me as they got lost in the traslation of the files I had in another database that I copied from. I guess to get rid of the fields I want, model and manufacturer I will have to drastically make some changes to where they may be called in and try to understand what the code is doing if I want them gone. Hard to do for a non programmer or developer. I consider myself an ameteur there but I might figure it out thru trial and error. Yeah, I know it is in the documentation. Still this should not be causing a lack of google listings. So why is the cache file so slow to fill up and why isn't google picking up everything? I have had this in place for about 6 months and tweeked things one time and deleted the cache so it could build up again (refresh?). It does a few records a day. Some still aren't done. Is this something that google checks and uses? Doesn't really say. All I know to do if I make major changes to my items or store is to delete the cache file and let it build up again. What makes it fill up? How does that work? What does it mean? To someone who doesn't understand cache or this program at all has no idea about its function. That is not in the documentation. I have signed up for google, given them my link etc. Done everything I know to do. Is it possible for someone to check my site and see if I have the basics correct? I can give the name of the store. I am super frustrated because a competitor of mine has ALL of his stuff in google and keeps beating me out in the searches. I don't know what he is doing differently. I feel like I missed a boat somewhere. Can you help?
  12. Aha !!! Then I may have found the one thing that was stopping me from doing the database install. I thought I was ok without it until now. Perhaps this will heip my other problems as well. Thanks so much. Back to the grind.
  13. I love how this support thread points to the documentation all the time but the answer is not that clear always. I still don't understand how the cache really works and so forth. Another topic after I fix this problem. I have a very large store Over 6000 items of basically catalog items and google is simply not seeing all of my items and it takes weeks to build the cache files but anyway.... Lets try to take care of this first. Ok, I looked at that documentation you mentioned and noticed that in the last 2 parameters of the documentation it contains this: ..... •KISSMT_CANONICAL_ON - string true/false - output canonical tags to remove duplicate search engine index entries and osCsid sessions •KISSMT_DESCRIPTIONS_EXTENSION_ENABLE - string true/false - Enable Categories/Manufacturers descriptions extension. However my code in includes/modules/kiss_meta_tags/includes/init.php does not have the definition KISSMT_DESCRIPTIONS_EXTENSION_ENABLE included. Mine ends with this: /** * Show the canonical tag for relevant pages - string true / false */ defined( 'KISSMT_CANONICAL_ON' ) || define( 'KISSMT_CANONICAL_ON', 'true' ); ?> so I added this at the end: /** KISSMT_DESCRIPTIONS_EXTENSION_ENABLE - string true/false - Enable Categories/Manufacturers descriptions extension. */ defined( 'KISSMT_DESCRIPTIONS_EXTENSION_ENABLE' ) || define( 'KISSMT_DESCRIPTIONS_EXTENSION_ENABLE', 'false' ); ?> Still my model and manufacturer description are included in my view source code. I do not want model # (uneccessary info taking up space) or manufacturer description included (as I have used that field as a condition statement). So what else is required to make the parameter stop model and manufacturer description? Thank you for a great simple process so far.
