Automatically send data feed to Froogle

Hello, I am looking for some guidance for GoogleBase v2.3 ~ I think I posted in the wrong area earlier :-P 1. I made the appropriate changes in googlefeeder.php; 2. I uploaded feeders.php and googlefeeder.php to my top-most file in File Manager (where the Admin folder is at the top, opened): /home/*myusername*/public_html/OSCommerce/ Regarding #1 above, is this indeed where I upload the files? I do not have a file or folder named "Catalog", but this is the area where my stylesheet and product info are... Regarding #2 above, should I have entered my FTP Username & Password, or my Google Base username & password (they are different though both in GoogleBase) ? Also, am I missing any other steps/instructions? Will this automatically upload my products to Google?? I feel like there was more I was supposed to do, make changes/set-up in my GoogleBase Account? Remove old feeds that never worked? :-P Thanks!
  2. Okay, I'll do that, thanks so much :-)
  3. Step 1. The .htaccess file that needs to be modified is the one that's at the highest level of your website (in httpdocs, not in your Catalog folder). But the RewriteBase statement must point to the Catalog folder, where googlebase.php is located, not httpdocs. If the very highest level of my website is in fact my Catalog folder (where the .htaccess file is), then how can I modify the .htaccess file and have it point to itself, where googlebase.php is located, in same Catalog folder? So confused. I also do not see anything named httpdocs. Where is that? Thanks yet again. I'm not sure I'll ever get this. Is there another GoogleBase Add-On that might work better? It's been weeks fighting this one now .... :-(
  4. Hi, I tried the steps above, and had no luck. My main problem is part of what has been confusing me all along: I have no Folder named Catalog. In the very highest level of my admin area, I have the following folders: admin download ext images includes pub and this is the area where the products.php, index.php, and stylesheet.css files are, along with .htaccess Can you tell me where my Catalog folder is? Thanks :-)
  5. I am so happy to see a solution and plan to make my adjustments in the next day or so .... Huge Thanks to all who contributed to solving this puzzle! Ever so grateful!
  6. Was this post directed to my problem as well? Which file name _______.php am I looking for to determine where my store is? I'm just not sure and I don't want to change any code until I'm certain. Thanks! :-P
  7. I think I am actually only half-way there ... the http://my-site.com/googlebase.php is working, but still not the http://my-site.com/feed.txt part (still getting a 404 error), so Google Base isn't uploading my catalog. Here is what is in my .htaccess file in the Root Directory, if this helps you find anything I need to change?: # $Id: .htaccess 1739 2007-12-20 00:52:16Z hpdl $ # # This is used with Apache WebServers # # For this to work, you must include the parameter 'Options' to # the AllowOverride configuration # # Example: # # <Directory "/usr/local/apache/htdocs"> # AllowOverride Options # </Directory> # # 'All' with also work. (This configuration is in the # apache/conf/httpd.conf file) # The following makes adjustments to the SSL protocol for Internet # Explorer browsers #<IfModule mod_setenvif.c> # <IfDefine SSL> # SetEnvIf User-Agent ".*MSIE.*" \ # nokeepalive ssl-unclean-shutdown \ # downgrade-1.0 force-response-1.0 # </IfDefine> #</IfModule> # If Search Engine Friendly URLs do not work, try enabling the # following Apache configuration parameter # AcceptPathInfo On # Fix certain PHP values # (commented out by default to prevent errors occuring on certain # servers) # php_value session.use_trans_sid 0 # php_value register_globals 1 RewriteBase / ############################# # Begin Google Base File Rewrite Code RewriteRule feed.txt googlebase.php # End Google Base File Rewrite Code #############################
  8. Yay!!!! I browsed for http://my-site.com/googlebase.php and there was a TON of text -- my products! :-D THANK YOU SO MUCH, everyone! Really!! Life is so much better with helpful people like you around :-) Take Care
  9. After determining for certain where my root directory was and getting the permissions changed by my host, it now contains the googlebase.php file. The .htaccess file in the root directory now contains this at the very end: RewriteBase / ############################# # Begin Google Base File Rewrite Code RewriteRule feed.txt googlebase.php # End Google Base File Rewrite Code ############################# When I browse for http://my-site.com/feed.txt I receive this: Not Found The requested URL /feed.txt was not found on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. When I browse for http://my-site.com/googlebase.php I receive this: Warning: include_once(includes/classes/seo.class.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/XXXXXX/public_html/OSCommerce/googlebase.php on line 104 Warning: include_once() [function.include]: Failed opening 'includes/classes/seo.class.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/XXXXXX/public_html/OSCommerce/googlebase.php on line 104 Fatal error: Class 'SEO_URL' not found in /home/XXXXXX/public_html/OSCommerce/googlebase.php on line 105 Any idea of what I might now be doing wrong ? :-P
  10. Not sure if this helps, but when I am in the builder, in Catalog (as if to add another product), the url above starts with http://my-site.com/admin/categories.php
  11. No, I've tried it every which way, and I still get the same error or an Internal Server Error. What do you mean by "if that is where your store can be viewed"? My site is viewed at http://www.my-site.com or just http://my-site.com without all of the OSCommerce/Admin stuff. I guess I just need to know where exactly in File Manager I should be with all of this. I'm so confused :-P Thanks for helping :-)
  12. I uploaded the google.php file to (and it appears in): /home/XXXXXX/public_html/OSCommerce/ I notice there is a .htaccess file in that section, but there is also another file with that same name (.htaccess) in: /home/XXXXXX/public_html/OSCommerce//admin Is that the "root directory" I should have uploaded to? Could I have been working in the wrong area all along? Much appreciation :-)
  13. I get the same result. I've tried with and without the www. also .... Any suggestions? Thanks :-)
  14. I see this: Not Found The requested URL /feed.txt was not found on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Does that count? :-) Hopefully it will work, I have it scheduled but so far nothing. Thanks for all of your help... :-)
  15. Yipes, I don't think I'm getting this right. Unless it takes Google hours to upload the catalog ... ?? Maybe you can take one more peek and tell me if you see a problem? Here's exactly what is now in my .htaccess file: # $Id: .htaccess 1739 2007-12-20 00:52:16Z hpdl $ # # This is used with Apache WebServers # # For this to work, you must include the parameter 'Options' to # the AllowOverride configuration # # Example: # # <Directory "/usr/local/apache/htdocs"> # AllowOverride Options # </Directory> # # 'All' with also work. (This configuration is in the # apache/conf/httpd.conf file) # The following makes adjustments to the SSL protocol for Internet # Explorer browsers #<IfModule mod_setenvif.c> # <IfDefine SSL> # SetEnvIf User-Agent ".*MSIE.*" \ # nokeepalive ssl-unclean-shutdown \ # downgrade-1.0 force-response-1.0 # </IfDefine> #</IfModule> # If Search Engine Friendly URLs do not work, try enabling the # following Apache configuration parameter # AcceptPathInfo On # Fix certain PHP values # (commented out by default to prevent errors occuring on certain # servers) # php_value session.use_trans_sid 0 # php_value register_globals 1 RewriteBase / RewriteRule feed.txt googlebase.php Thanks again, really. I am quite inept at all of this. :-P
