Canada Post shipping module for 2.3.1

You might want to take a look at this: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/7900
  2. Natrium, I would be very grateful if you could look at my post of Oct 20, about five posts above this one. Any thoughts or advice would be very much appreciated.
  3. Hello, I've installed the Shipping Module recently. We had been using a basic version that didn't include dimensions and wanted the improved accuracy of estimates based on dimensions. We are set up with Sell Online, Venture One, and EST. I didn't install the labels mod. I ran the appropriate sql queries from the mod, set the defaults in configuration, and modified the relevant files. The installation instructions provided with the mod were clear and accurate (except for one line in the sql query). Everything seemed to be fine. My problem now is that the CP server is only returning accurate quotes for single items. For example, if I do a test order for 1 200g item 10x10x10 it shows up with the right weight, box, and rate. If I try to check out two of those items I get a quote for 1.66kg. If I order several difference items- 200g, 100g, and 150g for example- I get a rate for 1.66k. If I check the ready to ship option, I get accurate rates per box (useless in a live situation, since customers don't want items shipped individually of course- too expensive). This seems to indicate to me that I'm sending the correct information to the server (but I could be wrong as I know little about these things). Once again, if I check out with an item 900g 25x15x15 I get a quote for 1.66k, but if I set it to ready to ship, I get an accurate quote. I have box weights set to 0.001, no tare weight, and we have gotten fairly accurate quotes in the past using the basic CP shipping mod, based on weight. I could return to it, but since we do have some oversized and bulky items, I'd prefer the accuracy of dimensional shipping quotes. And if I can get this working, we'll try going for the convenience of automated labels as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  4. I have done a search through this thread looking for an answer to what is likely a very simple problem. After installing the add-on my google rankings definitely shot to the top for virtually all our items. The only problem is that the google search result usually links to the image rather than to the product listing page. Here is a sample of a line from sitemapproducts.xml: <url> <loc>http://mygreatsite.com/osc/my-great-product-p-28.html</loc> <lastmod>2009-03-29</lastmod> <changefreq>weekly</changefreq> <priority>0.3</priority> </url> Here is what a google search result too often links to: http://mygreatsite.com/osc/my-great-product-pi-28.html I apologise if this is not a problem related to the add-on. But I would be grateful for any advice that will stop google from indexing the product images.
  5. This is a great contrib and I appreciate the update. It works like a charm except for one problem... It was fairly straightforward to install, even for a code breaker like me, but I seem to have screwed something up. Sending order update emails no longer works. I get a message that the order has been successfully updated, but no email is sent. All other email functions are still working, including the automatically generated order confirmation email. In every other regard, the contrib works and the updated information shows up in 'My Account', including the tracking link and number (love the autofill feature, by the way- congrats James!) In addition to being able to keep customers informed of their order status, I naturally want to use this function in order to let them know that they can now easily track their shipment. It's a bit frustrating and any help would be gratefully appreciated.

    Collection In Person Shipping Option

I just installed the latest update of this contrib. Once more, it shows up in admin but not in checkout_shipping.php. I tried it on a clean instal with proper ISO code etc. Very odd. I have a lot of customers who opt to pick up their orders, either at our shop, or at special events I attend, largely to avoid shipping costs. They find it puzzling that, when they tick the C.O.D. payment option they still get invoiced for Canada Post charges. Anyway, thanks very much for the tip, dly. Install was simple, just needed a little fine tuning afterwards.

Urgent Help Needed - Canada Post

Hello. I just noticed your post. The Canada Post Server IP should be: sellonline.canadapost.ca This doesn't matter if you're in production mode or demo.
  8. This is a great little add-on, exactly what I was looking for- easy to install and works as advertised. I'll definitely stand you a pint, Sebastian. And best of luck with the tee shirts. They look great! (We have a small chain of clothing shops so I do appreciate a good design when I see one.)
  9. We offer the following currency options: -CAD default -GBP -USD Our American customers often assume that the default currency is USD, which means that our prices don't look as competitive as they really are ($1 CAD = $0.8 USD). Is there a way (preferably an easy to install, bug free, and all-round enjoyable contrib) to get OSCommerce to detect a visitor's country, or at least their IP address's country, and automatically switch to that currency from the default? I have done a forum search and rooted around in the contribs. So far, the second currency mod by Jack mcs comes close, but I don't necessarily want USD always displayed. I know that I can set my site up so that it detects the IP addy and will direct the visitor to a specific section based on that info. Since the shop is part of the site, rather than the site, I could set up two stores, therefore, having U.S. customers automatically directed to the USD store, but that is a cumbersome solution. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
  10. I installed QTpro recently- the first contrib on a clean install of OSCommerce 2.2rc2a. I added a couple of other contribs- fckeditor and Canada Post module. Everything was working fine until two days ago. I use the radioset display option. Now, when I enter a new product I get an error message on the product info page: Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /.../includes/classes/pad_base.php on line 380 Although I get this message, the product attribute choices are displayed, but as a dropdown menu. When I switch to multiple dropdowns, the product displays without the error message. All of my previously entered products still display without a problem with radioset menus. I have just done a clean install and added QTpro on a test site, and get the same problem. I strongly doubt, therefore, that I've accidentally messed up the code on my live site. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, as I love this contrib and definitely want to be able to use it with the radioset plugin, which offers advantages over the others for this particular site.

    Collection In Person Shipping Option

Well, it was deceptively easy to install, but I can't seem to get it to show up as an option on the checkout shipping page.

Just a quick note to say thank you very much, spooks. This is a handy little mod that is straightforward to install and works as advertised, somewhat of a rare combination. I did a trial run on a test install of osc (once bitten, twice shy- I would recommend setting up a test install to try out various mods and tinkerings as a very good idea), and was very pleased with the results. I just installed it on my live osc and all is good. Thanks once again.

    Attribute Qty Product Info

Oops, I shouldn't have pressed that button... Anyway, to have products with a price of $0.00 and attributes (free products with attributes), show up, do the following: Open productinfo.php Around line 150 find and delete: if ($products_options['options_values_price'] != '0') Note: Do not delete the { at the end of the line. This will automatically show products priced at $0.00 without the workaround of using a value price of 0.001

Is this what you're trying to do:

    Attribute Qty Product Info

Thank you very much for a great little mod that's easy to install and works as advertised. It was just what I was looking for (and found finally after trying a couple of other mods). Lindsayanng and others: For people having problems with attributes with no price change not showing up, I find that entering 0.001 in the Value Price field gets around that quite easily. The product shows up at the regular price and with the desired attribute.
