    Customers extra fields

What I would like is to be able to have hidden fields as part of this mod. I require to have 3 extra fields available and shown to the customer on creating and modifying their account, but to also have 3 fields made available on the admin customer edit page but not available to customers. For now I've just removed the code from create_account and edit_account to have the 3 hidden fields working as I require, but this does not allow me to have any fields shown to the customer to fill in. I could do with someone giving me a quick way of editing the code placed in those two files to allow me to select which fields to show to the customer, and which to hide for admin only. I'm assuming the easiest way would be a simple 'if' wrapped around the loop of code displaying the fields on those pages, and only selecting the field ID's I want shown. Obviously to have an extra field on the extra fields manager page for "admin only" or "hidden field" would be great, adding a new column to the field properties in the db, which can then be used in the if clause when displaying the new fields to customers would be the best way. Possibly something for the mod author to think about? It would finish this mod of very well I think. Nick

    [Contribution] STS v4

Thanks. I assumed there would be a way of applying a template to that section, as the whole STS structure is so complete :) I'll re-work my solution from your notes. Many thanks! Nick

Yup, replaced the light blue in two places and the light grey in two places also in the stylesheet. I've already got the dark box with the rounded corners as a border so just made the actual lists background and header the same dark grey colour. This has worked for the product list and also the shopping cart lists. Result! Gone from: to: I'm beginning to get there with the templates now :D Nick

Actually, if I just change those two colours to the same are the background pane for that area it will resolve the problem for my at least. If there is a better way then let me know, but for now, thanks! Nick

    [Contribution] STS v4

Hi. Simple one I hope. Can someone tell me the name I need to give the template file to skin the actual product list, and the shopping cart lists. Like on this page where it's still using the light background with the blue header, and in the same place on the shopping cart: http://www.ttoc.co.uk/website/catalog/index.php?cPath=21 Thanks! Nick

It's the thread a couple down from this one: http://forums.oscommerce.com/index.php?showtopic=58541 And then the most recent download from here: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1524 version 4.5.8 Nick

    free templates?

Ok, so I now have in one evening gone from the Template Monster based site: http://nickgoodall.co.uk/ttoc/catalog/ To a fresh RC2a install with STS and a template built up from aspects of the TM site: http://www.ttoc.co.uk/website/catalog/ Not done by a long way yet, but I'm suprised at how much I managed to achieve in one evening. The STS system is amazing, pretty much a plug and play template setup which I'm used to with phpbb3 now I've got my head around it all. Nick

That helps a lot indeed. It does mean I have a lot more work ahead that I had hoped for, but sounds like it will be worth it. I've just spent the last 18 months working with phpbb3 and have just about got to grips with that. It was a bit of a suprise to find that ocS did not have a simple style plugin type system. I'd seen the thread on STS, but didn't read further than the title and the 200 plus pages of thread. I'll get reading :) Nick

    free templates?

Any chance you can elaborate on this please. I tried asking if there were any issues with using templates, specifically from TM, and didn't get any real replies. What happens with updates for osC? Do I then need the updated template rather than applying the updates of osC itself. I'm using the print store template, offered as a free demo from TM to test before buying one. But it just happens that this template it pretty perfect for integration into my site. I'm almost tempted to just continue using it, they want $140 for me to actually buy it, but I already have it as a full download, so I can't see what else I'd get from actually buying it, especially if their support is non-existent, which I would expect if I was to pay for it. My site is current in development here; http://nickgoodall.co.uk/ttoc/ Shop develpment here: http://nickgoodall.co.uk/ttoc/catalog/ Nick

I'm currently using the one from Template Monster as a test. I've got that working without any issues, also modified it for my site integration too. I'm going to purchase that exact template, as it's available for sale for $140, so I have a licence to use it rather than having it on a demo only type agreement. Nick
