  1. If you want to use ReWriteRules you have to have either ISAPI rewrite or IIS rewrite installed on the server, you will also have to have the .htaccess rules converted

    If you do this please email me a copy to help future IIS users.

    Is this maybe the problem?

    In the .htaccess file it says:

    # For this to work, you must include the parameter 'Options' to
    # the AllowOverride configuration
    # Example:
    # <Directory "/usr/local/apache/htdocs">
    #   AllowOverride Options
    # </Directory>
    # 'All' with also work. (This configuration is in the
    # apache/conf/httpd.conf file)

    But I don't have an apache folder...gah way out of my depth here :lol:

  2. Even people who are not new do not get it when they haven't read the instructions ;)

    Ahah yes! I must have missed that bit of the instructions the first time round hehe.

    Ok so I've now changed my .htaccess to:

    ....htaccess code...

    However now when I try to get into the admin section (it has the admin folder name changed btw) it gives me this error:

    Internal Server Error
    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
    Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@rcshop.mrvendor.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
    More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
    Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    In the instructions it mentions:

    A note on *nix server settings for RewriteRules

    mod_rewrite must be compiled in apache and AllowOverride set to ALL in httpd.conf ( usually this is already in place )

    What am I supposed to be doing here? Again sorry for all the questions heh, I generaly know enough PHP to get by, but I've never had to tweak the .htaccess files...

  3. Basic questions are just fine .. we all started somewhere.

    In the instructions: -

    catalog/.htaccess ( only needed if you intend to use rewrite urls )

    catalog relates to the osCommerce shop root .. because some users install into server root and others install into a directory like catalog or shop or other .. we use the term "catalog" to relate to wherever the osCommerce shop root may be.

    Hope that makes sense.

    Sorry I'm still not quite getting it :(

    At the moment the .htaccess file in the catalogue directory looks like:

    # $Id$
    # This is used with Apache WebServers
    # For this to work, you must include the parameter 'Options' to
    # the AllowOverride configuration
    # Example:
    # <Directory "/usr/local/apache/htdocs">
    #   AllowOverride Options
    # </Directory>
    # 'All' with also work. (This configuration is in the
    # apache/conf/httpd.conf file)
    # The following makes adjustments to the SSL protocol for Internet
    # Explorer browsers
    #<IfModule mod_setenvif.c>
    #  <IfDefine SSL>
    #    SetEnvIf User-Agent ".*MSIE.*" \
    #             nokeepalive ssl-unclean-shutdown \
    #             downgrade-1.0 force-response-1.0
    #  </IfDefine>
    # If Search Engine Friendly URLs do not work, try enabling the
    # following Apache configuration parameter
    # AcceptPathInfo On
    # Fix certain PHP values
    # (commented out by default to prevent errors occuring on certain
    # servers)
    # php_value session.use_trans_sid 0
    # php_value register_globals 1

    Where is this base href you mentioned that had been commented out?

  4. Your stylesheets are trying to load as e.g.

    Where this should be: -

    This is because in your files you have deleted/commented out the standard osCommerce base href which should look like: -

    <base href="http://www.some-site.com/">

    This sets the base path for relative paths.

    Make the relevant .htaccess changes as in the instructions then change the URI type to rewrite from standard in admin then this issue will disappear. ( assuming you are not on a WinDoze server and that mod_rewrite is compiled as it should be ).

    BUT base href should still be there, there is no reason to remove it.

    Hey again,

    I've finaly got some time to get this working, sadly I'm completely lost.

    I've got a .htaccess file in the root directory of the shop, then another one in the /includes/ folder, but I don't understand which one needs changing.

    Which one has the code that's been edited out? Sorry if these are really basic questions, but I've literaly got no idea what I'm doing here... :(

  5. Hmm OK, do you know which file it might be commented out on?

    Is it even anything do do with this mod? I was only presuming so as the issue only shows up when it's turned on, but maybe a mistake made by the guy who designed the site?

    Oh and once again thanks for the super-fast response! :D

  6. Hello,

    I've just installed Ultimate SEO Urls 5 to a slightly modified 2.3.1 store, it seems it's not quite running properly.

    Whenever the mod is turned on it changes the URLs correctly and the correst pages load, but it looks like they've ignored the Stylesheet. No images just the text all out of line on white space.

    If I turn off the mod everything works as it did, turn it back on and I get this problem.

    I've searched both topics on this mod and can't find a solution, if anyone knows what's causing this it would be a huge help for me :)

    I'm going to go back through the instalation tutorial again and check I havn't missed a step, here's hoping it will be that simple to fix...

  7. Wait yes it is!

    On the Coupon table (in the admin section) I was looking at the column 'Orders', which did stay at 0.

    But if I click on the coupon, over on the right it says 'Number of uses: 1' :D

    So that actualy works fine, all that's left to do is add some sort of message to the checkout when there's a voucher error (aka when a customer tries to use an already used voucher) - Any ideas? :)

  8. I've got a small problem with the Discount Coupon Code 2.3.1 (using version 2.8) module:

    Basically everything works as it should except the single use bit.

    If I use what should be a one off code in an order it doesn't show up in the admin section that it's been used at all. Also if I then try to use the same code a 2nd time it doesn't let you re-use it, but it also doesn't give you any sort of message that the code has already been used either.

    It's difficult to explain so I hope this is clear enough.

    Does anyone know what might be causing this?

    50 posts, aren't I cool :lol:

  9. Just managed to install this one without any problems, thanks for a great contribution :)

    The only problem I've got is the new way Urls are shown.

    I used this mod around a year ago and was very happy with it, but it seems it's been updated somewhat.

    My Urls are now showing as;

    Or if I click on a specific product it's;

    (Where it says category it shows up as the correct category)

    If I remember right it always used to be like;

    Is there anyway to get back to this?

  10. Having some problems getting this one running :(

    I tried importing the .sql file through phpmyadmin and got the following error;

    SQL query:
    # Nochex APC v0.5
    # Copyright (c) 2004 Leigh Davies
    # http://www.osmosisdc.com
    INSERT INTO `orders_status`
    VALUES ( 50000, 1, 'Nochex Processing' )
    MySQL said: Documentation
    #1136 - Column count doesn't match value count at row 1

    So tried just copying / pasting the contents of the .sql file into the query box, hit enter and got the same error :(

    Is there something I'm missing here?

  11. Ok guys, a little update on my problems.

    It seems everything works fine, i'm just a little limited to what I can do with the coupons.

    I was trying to use a coupon to get the final price down to 0.02p, mainly so I could test it worked without risking any of my money.

    After a little working on it, it seems the vouchers work fine as long as the final price is above £1.50 :)

    Slightly awkward, but then again when am I going to need to give such a discount that people can get products for under £1.50 any way :D

    So my last problem then;

    on checkout_payment.php and checkout_confirmation.php my tables are broken, it ends up looking like;

    I've gone through the code on both pages and can't see anything wrong, any ideas?

    And Inveritas - did you mean that as an answer to one of my questions?

  12. Evening all, a few problems on this one.

    I've just installed the latest version, a few problems but the subtotal fix + actually reading the instructions sorted them out :)

    2 main problems left, one is that on checkout_payment.php and checkout_confirmation.php my tables are broken, it ends up looking like;

    Any ideas what's causing this?

    And more importantly, it seems i've got a problem with Paypal that no one else does :)

    I'm using "Paypal website payments standard", and it carries over the data fine (it carried it over when the subtotal didn't work), but now for some reason whenever I put a coupon code in (works fine when no code is put in), it takes me to the paypal site with this message;

    The table problem, while annoying, I can live with for now. But the Paypal problem is a fairly large one :D

    Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?
