We'll do it soon. Maybe we'll add both APIs, maybe only RestServer.
I think within 2 weeks. It depends on the commercial load.

I do not understand. Why doesn't it have the correct title/description?
Anyway, without API is the whole Oscommerce v4 useless.

    Ashley,
    Thanks for your feedback!
Theme editor allows building new themes / templates using the set of widgets. There are "general" widgets that can be added to any page of the theme, and there are page-specific widgets (like widgets for the product page, shopping cart page, etc). It is indeed possible to build a new theme "from scratch" using the widgets.
Alternatively it is possible to copy an existing theme, and edit it to create new one.
In either way, it is possible to completely control the look and feel (or the "style") of each widget using the build in style editor or by overwriting the CSS directly.
osCommerce will be supplied with more themes than were included in B1 and B2. It will be confirmed for the release (due in approximately 3 weeks).

To me, the most important question is why @osCommerce-Officialrefuses to make appearance here? @Harald Ponce de Leondid the same thing and we all know what came of that.

3-4 weeks away as of 10th of June - 9 weeks ago.
Delays happen, and are sometimes out of an organisation's control.
What is not out of an organisation's control is communication.
Harald wasn't good at it, you guys should have improved things on that front. It's better to communicate and receive some feedback (even negative feedback which can be highly constructive) rather than not communicate at all.
Please let us know what's going on. Don't take us for granted. Otherwise when requests such as number three above are put out they will merely be met with apathy.
  6. Thanks

@PapancoAs mentioned, this is untested so I must be missing something. I will actually test it here and post once I have it working. I will try to get to it this week.

    Alix, thanks for this question.
So, there exists a "standard" menu widget at the moment. Of course we will welcome osCommerce developers to take it and work on it if they like, and perhaps submit back to the App store at some point.
Standard menu widget can be used on any page of the website. It can be pointed to any of the menus created in the Menu management tool, be it a category menu or some service menu.
Of course, osCommerce v4 being a modern day solution requires to be able to display some advanced menus to ease navigation through the websites.
So we have currently created several "styles" for the Menu widget, including Mega menu (big drop down):

Also, styles and behaviour of the menus can be managed through the CSS.
Here are some examples from a few recent sites we created for existing businesses.
    1. Multiple category levels, graphics linked to sub-categories:

    2. Similar to the first one, but slightly different design:

    3. A simple way to display categories, again, design is very different to the first two examples:

    4. Multiple categories, however the layout is vertical here:

Many users of this forum asked if osCommerce v4 will be free. And in this post, besides explaining how on-site SEO will work, we have yet again emphasised that osCommerce v4 will be free and open source.

This Addon adds a horizontal menu bar in the header of every store page. This menu bar contains the names of each of your top-level categories. When a customer clicks on a category name, a Megamenu expands below the menu bar. This Megamenu contains a category image and name for each of the top-level category's subcategories, or the top-level category image and name and a list of links to the products in that category if there are no subcategories.
The Addon code is available here.
