    USPS Methods 2.4

Bobby, Check your web server error logs. My guess is there's a typo somewhere, but your httpd errors log should tell you that. Brad Waite
  2. Hey folks, Any idea why I'm not getting referers in 1.34? Only 2 out of 13 have an "Originating URL" entry, even though my apache logs show their referers. Suggestions? Brad Waite

    USPSMethods v2.2

Another bug fix release. The only change from 2.1 is the location of the usps.php file in Step 5, namely catalog/includes/languages/english/modules/shipping/usps.php. -Brad USPSMethods v2.2 for osCommerce 2.2 CVS Copyright 12/7/02 by Brad Waite (brad@wcubed.net) Released under the GPL. Description ----------- This allows a site owner to choose which international and domestic USPS shipping methods will be available to the customer. Settings can be changed in the admin interface under Modules->Shipping->United States Postal Service. For example, if you select "Express" and "Priority", then a customer will only be shown those two options for USPS shipping. USPSMethods also allows you to choose whether to display the package weight and transit times (also called service standards). IMPORTANT NOTE: These files include a fix for bug 830 (USPS Module intl quote always reverts to Global Express) which at the time of writing has been submitted but not approved. Questions or comments to brad@wcubed.net. Changes since v2.1 ------------------ * Fixed typos in Step 5 of the instructions. Kevin Cashman was the bugcatcher this time.

    USPS Method v2.1

(Bug fix release) Description ----------- This allows a site owner to choose which international and domestic USPS shipping methods will be available to the customer. Settings can be changed in the admin interface under Modules->Shipping->United States Postal Service. For example, if you select "Express" and "Priority", then a customer will only be shown those two options for USPS shipping. USPSMethods also allows you to choose whether to display the package weight and transit times (service standards). IMPORTANT NOTE: These diffs include a fix for bug 830 (USPS Module intl quote always reverts to Global Express) which at the time of writing has been submitted but not approved. Questions or comments to brad@wcubed.net. Changes since v2.0 ------------------ * Fixed a major bug that halted the installation process. * Fixed minor bug that complained about a variable type when the destination country was international. * Added the new files to the contrib in addition to the diffs to retain others' sanity as well. Another one of Fritz's insightful suggestions. Changes since v1.1 ------------------ * Changed to a patch-based install to keep my sanity. * Added international services support (More thanks go to Fritz Clapp). * Added options to enable/disable weight and transit time display. Changes since v1.0 ------------------ * Adjusted code to reflect usps.php module in CVS. * Added required SQL to install() function in usps.php (step 7). Thanks to Fritz Clapp (zzfritz) for both.

    USPSMethods

For those of you watching this thread, I just wanted to let you know I've posted USPSMethods_v2.0. There's another post with the full details here in Contributions, but one big thing it introduces is properly-working international quotes. Brad Waite
  7. Hello all, I've made some changes that qualified as a major revision. Here's the details: This allows a site owner to choose which international and domestic USPS shipping methods will be available to the customer. For example, if you select "Express" and "Priority", then a customer will only be shown those two options for USPS shipping. USPSMethods

Unless they rolled my contrib into the CVS, which I seriously doubt, step 7 is still required. It looks very similar to the existing lines, but it's different.

    USPSMethods

At this stage, I'd recommend restoring the original usps.php and starting the installation from scratch with version 1.1. Brad

    USPSMethods

FYI, if you've got USPSMethods v1.1, there's a somewhat easier way to install it. Insert the rest of the code as described in the instructions (other than Step 1), then simply turn the USPS module off and back on again. The install() function automatically executes the required SQL commands. HTH, Brad

International USPS works as before - the contrib doesn't affect it.

    USPSMethods

Hello everyone. I just posted USPSMethods_v1.1 to the contribs. The new version includes the fixes zzfritz caught. International support will be coming in the undetermined future. Brad

    PayPal IPN contrib problem...

Pablo, that fix works for me, too. And as I see it, that's the only way it can - unless PayPal responds via IPN faster than the customer can click "Continue". Brad

Drat! I was going to mention that. I guess I'll have to release a new version. Again, good catch. Brad

    PayPal IPN contrib problem...

Pablo, I'm getting the same results - it always returns "Your payment has failed!". According to my logs, PayPal doesn't hit my notify_url until several minutes later. When is the orders_status updated in the database? It starts out as 99999, and when the customer comes back from PayPal, checkout_success.php looks for the INVALID ipn_result or 99999 and fails if either is true. If I understand the logic, it doesn't appear that the orders_status will change unless PayPal sends the data to the notify_url. Let me ask it this way: where is the orders_status supposed to changed from 99999 to "Processing"? Brad
