  1. That's great news Deep - but don't get too excited. There is a lot of talk about OSC being dead! There has been little or no development for a long time and the core coders have hardly even been on the site, some as little as once in the last year.... it seems other e commerce carts are taking over (magento?)..... http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?sho...0025&st=320
  2. Well, this is the same issue that was occurring on the previous release. There was a fix posted by phocea and texmaxx back on page 55 or so. However, I could never get that part of the code to work (and I wouldn't advise mixing that code with Deep's new code) I would be keen to see some kind of modification that would remove the payment option box if the customer ticks "use all points" (something similar to auto update cart? Otherwise, I guess the alternative is to put up a note that sasy "do not select a payment method if you wish to use all of your points for this purchase" Thoughts? SSNB
  3. Hi Deep Silver, I'm looking forward to trying your updated code. Can you please tell me what is the best way to upgrade, expecialy since many of my customers already have existing points - how do I retain this info whilst upgrading? I guess what I am really asking is - do I need to update the DB - are there any new updates to the SQL? If not, then I presume that all the existing info will be fine, is that correct? Thanks SSNB
  4. Fair enough - I would be happy to see the new version, when do you think you will be ready with V3? Thanks SSNB
  5. Hi DeepSilver, as I said, it's great to have you back on board your own contribution! It has to be said that it's one of the best. Thanks for the credit, but no need - Unfortunately, I am still unable to say I have fixed the problem I had. So it will be great to see a new upload from you, and I will be omongst the first to thank you. However, it will be useless for me (and probably many others) unless it can incorporate of Discount Coupons. Will you be able to build in the changes by phocea and texmaxx? Meanwhile, I am still working on my package and I'll happily exchange any info with you for your re-launch. Cheers ssnb
  6. Hi Bill I am really looking for a code that will allow me to set up a dropdown main navigational menu that will sit at the top of my page.... e.g. a heading of Info on rollover would display FAQ, Shipping, Returns, Discounts, etc... I'm unlclear how I would incorporate say, a javascript code with the $new_products code headers for example. Cheers Sol
  7. Hi folks Can anyone recommend a contribution that will work with STS that will give me drop down navigation menu? I have looked a dynamenu, but that seems to be primarily just for categories? Thanks Sol
  8. Hi David I'm sorry to say that this is exactly the problem I am having. I am working on this and will post the resolution as soon as I have it. AS far as I can tell, this is the only glitch that needs to be resolved now before I post the updated package. I am working with a couple of programmers to find the issue - but feel free to post here if you find it before I do!! Cheers Sol
  9. Thanks for the feedback. What do you mean by "we don't have paypal here" - it's a web based payment system. I guess you mean people in SA aren't keen on it? yes, I am aware of the redemption issue - I suffer from it myself! lol But I am working on it and aiming to pst a new, updated contrib soon as.
  10. Hi Hotclutch, I hope you found my instructions useful? I had the very same issue until Installed the Paypal IPN module. There are some notes about this in my instructions, however, it was challenging! What payment module are you using? I have only tested P&R with paypal and bank transfer (both now credit the correct points to the customer) I am currently working on resolving a couple of minor issues that I am having and when I have done that, I will re-upload a new package to make life easier for all.... hopefully in the next week or two. Regards Sol
  11. Hello CameronT21 I don't have the answer for you - sorry! But I am keen to learn from you! We have Quick Books POS too and it would be great to be able to interface with OSC. If you are willing to share you expertise on this once it is set up and working, that would be great (could consider payment). Drop me a PM when you are ready. Regards Sol
  12. OK, well, you are obviously and rightly upset at such abuse, but quite honestly, is that fair for everyone else? I would have thought you were keen to see your project grow. Your code has been modified to reflect other peoples needs (such as the need to incorporate other discount codes and the need to include a more stable paypal set up) that you didn't include in the original. I would have thought that you would welcome "development" so that your baby can evolve, if it were me, I would be proud to see it move on.... but instead, you seem unhappy about it. Keen to see V3 when you have time. Please see my PM. Cheers Sol
  13. First of all, congrats on the new babe, I myself know all about that.... less time for this stuff when the real world calls... Secondly, actually I think you are wrong that nobody needs you.... There are several people with outstanding issues regarding the functionality of this contribution. I myself am currently working on putting together a re-release of this contribution, but to do that, I need some help. There have been so many modifications to your original code that the whole package is a nightmare to navigate and install. Specifically, the fixes by Phocea and Texmaxx (back on pages 55- 60) need to be incorporated into a new release - which is what I am doing. However, I have hit a wall with some of that code and I really need to see someone else's working copies of the following files includes/functions/redemptions.php includes/modules/order_total/ot_redemptions.php checkout_confirmation.php checkout_payment.php These are the ones that have been most heavily modified and currently do not work. So, Deep Silver, if you want to help out a fellow father? It must be a proud moment for you, you gave birth to a great contribution (not just your new babe) Let's make this contribution great again, rather than the VERY messy version it is now (have you seen the amount of add ons to your orginal contribution!) I have PM'd you too, so feel free to reply through their or here. I await your response. Cheers Sol
  14. welcome back - can you offer any help with the points and rewards contrib? please get in touch.

  15. Chris, my advice to you is to do your research first. It sounds like you are a newbie and this could easily leave you with a few hours of work on your hands. In order to load many of the contributions, you have to first update / upload a file to the SQL database (make new tables in the database). If you have never done this before, it can be quite a learning curve, but definately something you should look into if you want to develop your site / your skills. Your webhost should be able to point you in the right direction in terms of accessing your databse (called MySQL). Once you are in there, it's not particularly user friendly so you need to be careful what you do else you can break your site. I would suggest searching the forums / google for specific advice on playing with the MySQL. Hope this is of some help. Sol
  16. As far as I have been able to work out, yes. I have both installed, but I can't tell for sure which code is resizing the pictures... that said, yes, they do get resized, so go ahead and install - but it's not without its challenges, but if it weren't where would the fun be :-)
  17. For info: I have uploaded a new instruction file - and I'm working on a uploading a new installation package. I would appreciate some help RE comparison of a WORKING COPIES of the following files includes/functions/redemptions.php includes/modules/order_total/ot_redemptions.php checkout_confirmation.php checkout_payment.php Please get in touch if you can help Thanks Sol
  18. w o w Is that THE Deep Silver? Phew - you been away a long time brother! We need you here!!! Welcome back
  19. hello - I realise you posted this a while ago, but I want to do the same! So did you have any luck with finding a solution and if so, would you please be kind enough to share it? Pretty please !! Chur Sol
  20. Yes, my vote is for Easy Populate - it is truly an excellent add on, well written and easy to install. For order downloads, I have been using Export Order contribution, it is simple enough to install and seems to do the job OK, BUT there seems to be no easy way to rearrange the fields that are downloaded.....
  21. So is it Firebug (that's a web developers software, so how many of your customers are likely to have that) or is it Firefox 3.0.1? If the latter, you can report it to Mozilla to see if they can correct this? If the former, I understand you can tell firebug to ignore certain sites (like your store) Interested to hear how you get on, keep us informed!
  22. OK, well, I think I understand what you are saying.... in other words, you are saying it doesn't matter what page you go to, but whenever you come back to the contact us page the same v v c is on display yes? If that is the case, then it your browser settings because when I try that on my site, each time I browse to a different page and then come back to contact us - it is a different v v code. So I can only assume that this is specific to some browser settings. As I say, I don't have this issue myself, and so far, v v c has prevented any spam getting through! When it stops working I will look at it further, but so far so good! I seem to get a lot of genuine questions, so obviously it's not stopping people getting through. However, that being the case, it could be stopping some people who have peculiar cookie settings in the browser. It would probably only need a line or two of code to "kill the browser cookie" for v c c. If you were so inclined (or anyone with the expertise) you could probably find this code somewhere and let us know? I'd be interested to know if anyone else experiences the same issue you have, but so far, I think I'm fairly convinced it's a local issue on your machine. What browser and version do you use? Try your site from a different PC (say at work, or a friend's house) and see if it's the same! Good luck!
  23. There is a fix for this some way back in the posts.... you will have to search for it I'm afraid!
  24. Have you installed all the updates? there are several additional fixes required - you will have to search back through the posts (between pages 50 - 60)
  25. Hi - if I understand your question properly, you can set this in the admin/options area. Also, you need to search back through the posts as there is a fix for the mixing of the specials / non-specials points (around page 56 I think, though you'll need to check.)
