SEO Friendly Urls - a new approach

I created another site with SEO Friendly URLs installed. I exported the database entries from that new install and pasted them into my working test database (the one that failed) using PHPmyAdmin. Now it works. I fully expected it to work just as you said: But it didn't for me - even after removing all instances of SEO Friendly URLs in the database (I think). I'm struggling with my web browsers after a recent Win10 update so it may not be your fine add-on - it could totally be just me! I'm not feeling the love for Win10 today. My project is on hold anyway due to a PHP v5.2 issue on the hosting server (upgrading to 5.3 breaks other necessary parts of the web site). Feel like I'm in way over my head (I do web design, not SQL). Thanks for the quick response. You rock big time! I may ask you to build the membership directory I'm working on now. OSC is WAY too complex for that job. But I don't code php very well (okay, not at all). I'll try your web site contact form again. Smiles to you.

SEO Friendly Urls - a new approach

My database became corrupted and I had to reconstruct. Many of the SEO Friendly fields in the database disappeared. So, I figured I could just use the uninstall SEO Friendly URLs option that was still in the admin. Did the trick - all SEO Friendly URL database entries gone. I then could not figure out how to reinstall your plugin once uninstalled. Oops! Any advice before I pull any remaining hair?

SEO Friendly Urls - a new approach

Awesome plugin! So easy to apply, worked perfectly right off the bat! Love it! I'm building an alternative practitioner directory based on OSC - showing "categories" (cities) and "products" (therapists) without all the buying bits. Reviews, however, are critical and so reviews seo useful.
  4. Thanks for the link - SO much to learn. In the end, I decided to simply not use thumbnails as in the original OSC code - preferring 300px images included in each product's description. That resolves the conflict and makes the site look better, imho. Fortunately, I have few products, so the job isn't huge.
  5. I found that if I make lytebox (or lightbox) the last scripts before </head> in my sts template or product_info.php, the script works. But, my other jquery scripts don't work. If instead, I place lytebox before jquery scripts, the jquery works but lytebox doesn't. Basically, whichever script gets played last before </head> works. I'm using jquery to show product info in tabbed boxes for some (but not all) products. Because I like the tabbed look so well, I'll put up with the lack of a lytebox (or lightbox) effect. It would be nice if both would work, though. Oh, well, time to look into a different method of presenting my product descriptions anyway - I never liked the "click to enlarge" idea.

    Tab Menu Section (TMS)

Jim. Thanks. This looks like my error - I managed to download the wrong contrib version. I'm looking forward to installing the correct version after reinstalling a new version of OSC v2.3.1.

    Tab Menu Section (TMS)

Thanks, Jim. Unfortunately, that plugin does not seem to work in OSC v.2.3.1.

    Tab Menu Section (TMS)

I finally figured out how to post the product photo to one of the tabs (not useful, though) - I'd rather add stuff like "Specs" or "Details". I definitely DON'T want to add text that is applied to EVERY product (like that supplied by the contrib). I guess I could create new fields in the product description table... a real stretch of my limited phpmyadmin/mySQL skills - along with the appropriate text boxes in the new product admin page... another stretch of my limited PHP skills - AND the php coding necessary to show the text fields in tabs on the product_info page. I suppose I could post product reviews to one of the tabs... when and if I can figure out how to do that. I love the concept - just want to get some ideas on how to implement it.

Paypal adds $2.45 to total order!

I think it likely you have additional shipping added in PayPal. To see, login to paypal.com, under My Account click on Profile. Look for Shipping Calculations. Make sure you select the option at the bottom of the page, "Click here to allow transaction-based shipping values to override the profile shipping settings listed above (if profile settings are enabled)." That should do the trick. Best wishes, Joseph
  10. Thanks, Edgy, Unfortunately, that did not work either. I've tried every configuration change available in the easypopulate.php file, messed with the easypopulate_function.php file, adjusted my configure.php file. I can't get the darned thing to import. I still get: File uploaded. Temporary filename: /tmp/phpIj9uvS User filename: EP2006Nov29-1302-test.txt Size: 3916 I've looked in the /tmp/ directory and it's empty. Is it possible that the temp file is being deleted before it is imported? I don't know... I'd love to use easypopulate but just can't get around this problem. And I just don't have weeks and weeks of time to dig through the code line by line to find it. But when I do find the problem, I'll be sure to post my solution here for the next poor guy who has this problem. Warmly, Joseph
  11. I posted this yesterday to the wrong forum. :-" Gad, I hope someone can help me out here. I could add products one at a time, but my wits would be gone soon. And there are SO many pages in this forum! It would take me months to read each post - and that's what it would take since my problem is so vague. I installed EP v2.8-MS2 (and just about every other version, too, and I get the same problem no matter the version of EP) I downloaded a full EP data file into MS Excel, deleted all rows but one (for testing), changed the one product's model number and name, saved to tab-delimited .txt file and attempted upload back into EP. I get: File uploaded. Temporary filename: /tmp/phpxTrk0B User filename: EP2006Nov01-1503.txt Size: 411 But there is no new product. Some time ago, when I first installed EP (last year some time), I got the long list of products being uploaded and processed. This time there is none of that - just the little message quoted above. I have a sh*tload of contribs installed: STS v 1.8 Atecno Admin Order Editor Reset Counters Basic Design Pack Star Product Enable/Disable Categories Ultimate SEO URLs v2.2 Who's Online Enhancement 2 TinyMCE in osCommerce shipping insurance 201 Salemaker 2.2 for MS2v102 Cross-sell v2.2 Visitor Stats v1.7b Header Tags Controller v2.2 Links Manager for osC(MS2) v1.01 Does anyone know if one of the above busts EP? And does anyone have a fix for me? I've been playing with OSC since 2003, but I'm not a PHP wiz - although OSC has taught me quite a bit of PHP and SQL. Awesome! Thanks in advance for any assistance. Contrib conflict?

    Why not clickbank?

I think Clickbank is only good for downloads rather than products. You'd have to make it active for ONLY certain downloadable products while NOT making it available for other products. But if you had a whole site full of downloadable products, Clickbank is a viable option.

Easypopulate - Product Status Cannot Be Null

Try it again with a tab delimited text file instead of an Excel file. See if that fixes the problem. JB
  15. I'd like a way in which I can select a date to look at without having to click day-by-day back several months to see what activity a user did on a certain date. I'd just love to see a calendar similar to the one on the "Add New Product" page. If a calendar was showing on the User Tracking page instead of a simple link to yesterday, I'd love it even more than I do now. This is one AWESOME contrib. Thanks!!
