Official PayPal IPN Support Thread

Hi all, I'm afraid that I may well be asking an answered question but I'm in a bit of a panic! Sorry if that is the case. In fact, I think it could be solved by the last update on the contributions page (about the php.ini file) I just received an order from my shop and didn't receive the confirmation email and the order doesn't show up in admin. I assume that the customer didn't receive the email confirmation either. The order is saved in the database though. I believe that I read somewhere that the email wouldn't get sent if the customer didn't get redirected back to the site and that, in this case, the order wouldn't be saved in the database. It's weird that the order would be in the database but not show up in admin. I tested using the sandbox server during development but I have made quite a lot of changes since and, obviously, the site is now live! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Luckily I can get to all the information through the database but my other half, who runs the shop, doesn't know how to do that! Cheers, Joseph PS. If I never said thank you for the contribution ---> THANK YOU!!!!

Wishlist 3.0 Support Thread

Hi, just passing by to say a HUUUUGEEEE THANK YOU for this contrib. I've used it on my newly opened site (feedback thread: http://forums.oscommerce.com/index.php?showtopic=302114 ) and it's a really major feature that we think is amazing. It's been tweaked a bit to fit in with the site but there's no way in a million years I could have done something like this from scratch! Thanks again and regards from Madrid!

"Dynamenu" for osCommerce

Hi, just passing by to say a HUUUUGEEEE THANK YOU for this contrib. I've given it a slightly unusual use on my newly opened site (feedback thread: http://forums.oscommerce.com/index.php?showtopic=302114 ) and it would have been impossible without this contrib. The site's pretty much based on it! Thanks again and regards from Madrid!
5. Hi all, I'm trying to figure out how to use images (left and right arrows) instead of the "Previous" and "Next" buttons in the product listing. Any ideas? Thanks in advance and regards from Madrid.

Images for Next/Previous Page Links

Hi, didn't have email notifications set as on. I decided not to use images for the arrows in the end and just tweaked the style sheet to make it prettier. I basically changed the text inside the "define" in the language files to the html for an image. I decided I didn't like it pretty quickly but I would have added<div class/id="whatever"></div> tags in there too in order to do fine tuning from the stylesheet. I know it's very "hacky" but this technique of sticking html where text would normally go has helped me do loads of things now that I think about it. For example, the code to output the flash header on my site in the correct language just uses this technique to add in the correct file path depending on the chosen language. It's really handy when you need to stick html in somewhere and you're not sure how. When I've needed to put tables, text, images, etc... all mixed up and in two languages or something in a page, I just write the page as if it were normal html and then copy and paste that into a "define" in the appropriate language file and output it in the body of the appropriate main php file. (my site's a bit weird but I hope you know what I mean) An example of outputting an image instead of text: First you put whatever you want to go instead of text in the includes/languages/yourlanguage.php (or /yourlanguage/yourfile.php): define('IMAGE_HERE', '<img src="/yourstore/images/yourimage.png" width="whatever" height="whatever" />'); Then you output it wherever you want in the main file like this: <?php echo IMAGE_HERE; ?> I've just opened the shop yesterday and have put a feedback thread here: http://forums.oscommerce.com/index.php?showtopic=302114 All criticism welcome. Regards from Madrid!

Its there a DHL API for europe

Hello from Spain! I was just leaving a message regarding this and another issue: http://forums.oscommerce.com/index.php?showtopic=301813 We have negotiated rates with DHL and, desperately hoping that I'm not going to have to set up table rates for the whole world, I have spoken to the Spanish technical department who have assured me that I will receive API keys on Monday. That said, I'm not 100% sure if they really understood what I was asking for or if they were simply playing along to get me to sign the contract. The guy I spoke to said that he knew of the OsCommerce module and said that it should work. I recommend that you speak to them there too. If you are interested in using DHL too, we should keep in touch to see how we're both doing. Us Europeans have to stick together!!! PM if you like and I'll give you my email address and/or phone number. Oh, and if you want to have a look at my post, maybe you could help me out!!!!! The idea of table rates is terrifying me as it seems as though it would be a horribly long, hard job to set things up for the whole world! Regards, Joseph
8. Hi all. I'm in real need of assistance. I have the following issues: 1. I am working for my other half and she's the worst boss in the world and has no idea about anything computer related. 2. The shop is going live on Monday (in two days) and the idea is to ship just about anywhere. 3. We have haggled rates with DHL for shipping and I should supposedly be able to integrate their system through the API (I think it's ready to go and just awaiting some codes). The issue is that the codes should arrive on Monday morning at the same time as the shop should open. Any problems shall, of course, be my fault! 4. The following: Suddenly I have been presented with something that I really don't know how to do. The DHL system should calculate the rates for each order for me and that should be great (if I haven't missed something and it's not going to work). BUT... my "better half" has suddenly decided that it is of the utmost importance that each country should have a certain order total at which the shipping is free. So, I really need to be using the DHL system with the module I have installed but I have no idea how to simply not apply any shipping fees if a certain amount is reached for a particular zone. It would be one hell of a job to do this all as table rates (at least I think it would!) and, anyway, it would have to be based on zone and weight up until a certain price and that doesn0t seem to be configurable with, for example, Zone Rates. I've been looking around and I've only found this as part of other shipping modules. For example, the Zone Rate module allows you to do it but I don't know what would happen if I just included the minimum order for free shipping in each zone in that module as well as having the DHL module active. Would the Zone Rates module only show up if the zone and minimum order are appropriate? and, if that is the case, Will the DHL module still show up but the Zone Rates would be selected as "best option" by default??? Thank you, thank you, thank you for any guidance you could give me! (and sorry if I'm sounding too much like a "noob"! I've been doing codey, programming stuff until now and the configuration options have got me beat!) Of course, I'm also open to any other suggestions for shipping options that would meet our requirements. I saw something called e-Shipper that looks interesting but I don't know if it would work for us as we are based in Madrid, Spain. Joseph - http://www.naiadomare.com

OK, so I was being daft. I've done what I said before i.e. I just added an image reference in the includes/languages/mylanguage.php files instead of "<< Previous" and "Next >>" and Robert is your Father's Brother! Thanks all the same!

Hi Simon, Thanks, I'm basically looking for info, clues, hints, etc... and I think it might be useful for others too. I prefer to do things myself so that I know what's going on. I'm not exactly a "newbie" with programming stuff so it shouldn't be a problem. I'd probably be able to figure it out but I'm in a hurry so if you (or anyone) could point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it. Cheers. PS. Is it possible to simply add an html image reference instead of text in the appropriate language files? I tried it and it hasn't worked so far but I don't know if I may have done something wrong.

AJAX Attribute Manager support

FORGET WHAT I JUST WROTE!!!!!!!1 I was being stupid. It was a mod I'd made that was actually sending me to a new product page instead of the edit product page. Now I've fixed that. BUUUUTTT..... 1052 - Column 'products_options_sort_order' in order clause is ambiguous select * from products_attributes as pa INNER JOIN products_options po ON pa.options_id=po.products_options_id where products_id = '1065' AND language_id=1 order by products_options_sort_order ... now appears on the edit page. Fun. I saw that someone had a similar problem but I couldn't see any solution that works for me (I did try). Seems to be an issue with 2.8.2 Cheers

AJAX Attribute Manager support

Hi Chaps and Chapesses, (I've been looking for a similar issue all over and haven't found it). In short, I had version 2.7.1 working fine on my site (apart from having to add attributes in "edit mode" instead of directly when adding new products) until yesterday morning when it suddenly went sightly haywire and then disappeared. Now I have version 2.8.2 installed and it shows up again (after deleting the .htacess file from this contrib's directory - maybe that would have fixed it from the start!). So far so good. BUT.... Now when I try to edit a product, none of the information that I have already added to the product shows up in the edit page; all of the input fields are blank, empty and devoid of all alphanumeric symbols. I know the information is still there (i.e. it's not a database problem) as all the info and attributes still show up in the shop. Therefore, apart from not wanting to write it all in again, It seems to me that this could cause database issues or something else bad. I don't want to just make the edits I want and save in case it deletes all of the other info. A dilemma. So, any idea why folks? I'm pretty sure that it has to do with a conflict with the "Category Description" contrib as I just installed it yesterday. Can't figure out what they might to to one another to produce this problem though. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,2343 If it's not that then it could be with my modified version of "Optional Related Products" as that''s the only other contrib that also affects the admin/categories.php file. My site's pretty heavily modded in general. Thanks for any clues and regards from Madrid, Joseph http://www.naiadomare.com http://www.madrididiomas.es
14. Hi all, I need some help to get something I'm working on to work. It's based on the Optional Related Products (ORP) contribution and I think it could be the start of a contribution that would be useful for more people. I'm just hacking the living daylights out of it to get it to work so there's a lot of redundant, unnecessary code still in it and I've probably done some horribly ugly coding. I'm no expert, I'm what I would call a suck-it-and-see programmer. Sorry about that in advance. Due to unforeseen personal circumstances, we are supposed to launch our new on-line clothes shop in TWO DAYS!!!! It's all organised into collections meaning that everything in "Short dresses > Collection X" is related to "Accessories > Collection X", etc., for example. What I'm trying to do is associate whole categories and then display a selection of the products from related categories in a new page when the customer clicks on a "related products" link. I've already modified the ORP back-end system to associate whole categories instead of products. It is organised in the same way by category ID master and slave ; for example: Master - Category A (ID 1)------------> Slave - Category B (ID 2) Master - Category A (ID 1)------------> Slave - Category C (ID 3) So, the idea is to put a link next to each product (using it's parent category ID as "Master") that would send people to a page with a random selection of products from the "Slave" categories. Does anyone have any idea of how I could go about doing this? I was thinking of modifying the product_listing.php but I'm not really sure how. I think that I'd have to first make the link from the product identify its parent category to the file that would generate the listing and then fetch first its slave categories from the db and then a selection of products from these category IDs to display. Any ideas? Do you even understand what I'm talking about? I'm going to be in front of the computer 24 hours a day for the next few days if anyone has any ideas or if you would like specific information about anything. I would truly, really, genuinely, whole heartedly appreciate any help anyone could give me! Thanks and kind regards to all, Joseph PS. The shop is http://www.naiadomare.com but it's just an intro page at the moment.

Related Products by Categories - I need help!

Hello again, Sorry. I should have given a decent example before. I think the short answer is "Yes, I think we're on the same page" but I'll put an example in my own words too to make sure... Let's say that this is one product displayed in the listing for the category "Ibiza Collection(1)": Clothes>Trousers>Ibiza Collection(1)>Product X I have a database table in which "Ibiza Collection(1)" is the Master and the following categories are Slave (each Master>Slave relationship is a separate database entry): Accessories>Belts>Ibiza Collection(2) Foootwear>Boots>Ibiza Collection(3) In the listing item for Product X I would like to have a button to associated products. This link could either send its parent category ID or its own ID to the new code. This code should then somehow get all of the products from the slave categories and display them. I've got the idea of displaying them in random order because that's one of the options of the ORP contrib. The Optional Related Products contribution displays related products in the product_info page below the product information by calling a list from optional_related_products.php. This doesn't work for me even if I could adapt it to show the contents of various categories as I've done away with the product_info page . I've got everything in the product listing (attributes, product description, tell a friend, enlarge image, etc...). However, I don't know if the code it uses to display the related products might be a good starting point if it then gets put into into a new .php file to display a list there instead of in the index. Here it is: <?php /* $Id: optional_related_products.php, ver 1.0 02/05/2007 Exp $ variation to support contribution: Graphical Borders 2.1 Copyright © 2007 Anita Cross (http://www.callofthewildphoto.com/) Part of Contribution: Optional Related Products Ver 4.0 Based on code from Optional Relate Products, ver 2.0 05/01/2005 Copyright © 2004-2005 Daniel Bahna (daniel.bahna@gmail.com) osCommerce, Open Source E-Commerce Solutions http://www.oscommerce.com Released under the GNU General Public License */ $orderBy = 'ORDER BY '; $orderBy .= (RELATED_PRODUCTS_RANDOMIZE)?'rand()':'pop_order_id, pop_id'; $orderBy .= (RELATED_PRODUCTS_MAX_DISP)?' limit ' . Related Products by Categories - I need help!

Hi, thanks for replying  , I know the bare minimum to get by. I studied some MySQL briefly about 8 years ago but I can muddle through sometimes! I've actually already made a way to associate parent and slave categories based on the Related Optional Products contribution. I have an admin section where you can associate one category or subcategory to any other(s) you want. The database table has Master ID, Slave ID and an auto-incrementing association ID. I just modified the ORP code to work with Category instead of Product IDs and changed the admin drop down menus to Category Tree instead of a list of products. In my shop, the products are all for women (we're going to do separate men and children's shops later). It's organised into main categories like Clothes, Lingerie, Footwear, Accessories, Swimwear... Then each one has subcategories for the different kinds of products within that (eg. Clothes>Long Dresses, Short Dresses, T-Shirts, Trousers, Long Skirts, etc...) AND THEN (very important) ach of these subcategories is organised into collections OF A PARTICULAR STYLE. The stuff we've got in these "collections" are what I want to display all together when someone clicks a "related products" or "more from this collection" link. Ideally, ordered randomly so that people would see different things all the time. Sorry if I'm not following too well but I think that is just putting products in multiple categories. I suppose that I could then exclude these general categories from the category listing somehow but I prefer it to be more dynamic in case we change the structure. I'm afraid you've lost me!!! From my limited understanding (or what I think I understand from my fidddling) of what OsCommerce does to display the contents of a category is use its cPath to identify it (cPath=1_2_3 if you have "category 1", "sub-category_2" ans "sub-sub-category 3") and then request each product under said category or sub-category from the database. I could have a look to check but I imagine that each product will have a category ID in its database entry and OsCommerce uses a loop to get those products that have the same Category ID as the cPath. So, an "rPath" could display something other than the contents of a selected category??? I'm going to look into what the GET parameter actually is (as you can tell, I'm pretty ignorant) and see if I can get a better handle on what you're saying. So, what I want to do (if I can) is put a link in the product listing that will send the parent category ID of the selected product to a piece of code that will return all of this category's "Slave Category IDs" and then display the products within all of these slave categories (preferably randomly sorted!!). That's what I'm thinking but having not understood very well your suggestion for doing this, I may be on the wrong track (although I like the fact that this way I can relate the categories as I wish. THANKS!!!!!!!!! Really, thanks for getting back to me on this. It's helpful even just to talk about it to see if any light bulbs come on! My problem is that I'm really not that experienced with this stuff at all and how to implement it is a bit beyond me. Until I learn some more anyway! Regards, Joseph http://www.naiadomare.com (not live yet but if someone's interested in helping, I could PM you a link and password if you promise not to try and buy anything yet!!)

Related Products by Categories - I need help!

I've been thinking about this and I think that the most difficult thing to do is display products from multiple categories. I have absolutely no idea how to go about doing this. I mean, the link would from the product would have to pass its parent category ID and then have the destination file get that IDs slave categories from the db. Up to that point I think I could probably hack together somehow but.... How could I get it to display a selection of products from various specified categories??????? The products listing page uses cpath cat_subcat1_subcat2... that doesn't work for this. I'd need something like... well, I don't know really. I'M DESPERATE!!!!!!! I'm not getting paid to do this but it's for the Mrs. and she advertised that it would open in 2 days! Thanks a million for anything at all, even words of encouragement!!! Joseph

Optional Related Products, Version 4.0

Hi, I think it is this: CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `products_related_products` ( `pop_id` int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment, `pop_products_id_master` int(11) NOT NULL default '0', `pop_products_id_slave` int(11) NOT NULL default '0', `pop_order_id` smallint(6) NOT NULL default '0', PRIMARY KEY (`pop_id`) ) TYPE=MyISAM; I'm not 100% sure though. I think you may also have to change the name of the table from products_options_products to products_related_products. Hope that helps, it's just part of the sql_setup_related_products.php file. Optional Related Products, Version 4.0

Hi guys, Referring to my idea to make a "Related Categories" contrib based on this excellent contribution: I've managed to modify the code in order to associate whole categories instead of individual products and now I'm thinking of how to actually use it to display the contents of related categories when a customer clicks on a related products link in the product listing. I really need some help with this as I've got a really tight deadline and I'm more than slightly rubbish! Here's a link to a topic I've opened for this: http://forums.oscommerce.com/index.php?showtopic=300489 Cheers! Joseph

Optional Related Products, Version 4.0

Hi, First of all, thank you for all your work in providing your contribution to everyone. I've got it installed and working as intended but (and it's a big 'but'), my idea was to use this as the basis of a feature I'd like to include on the site. I'm not even sure if this is the best starting point or not. I'm not 100% clueless with PHP but I'm not exactly an expert either. I have more of a passing acquaintance type of relationship. I would like to know if anyone has any advice on how I could do a couple of things. What I would like to achieve is the following: I'm trying to do away with the individual product page, putting all functionality in the product listing. I already have the attributes, description, etc... on there and the image is now a link to enlarge it in lightbox. At the moment I'm trying to think of a way to include a button to the right of each product which will take you to a page of products randomly generated from RELATED CATEGORIES. The shop is for clothes and is organised into collections. For example, there is a subcategory called "Ibiza Collection" in "Short Dresses", "Long Dresses", "Accessories", etc... Therefore, if I could RELATE CATEGORIES instead of individual products, and then display a selection of the products from said categories, it would save us many, many hours of work and make the whole thing better automated. It's basically to show other products that go with the one in the product listing (or basket probably). To sum-up, There are two things I need to do: 1 - Associate categories instead of products. 2 - Display products from associated categories in a separate window. Sorry if this doesn't make sense - I'm stuck to the computer all day long if you need more information!. I would put a link so you could see what I mean but the site isn't live yet (it will supposedly go live in a couple of weeks). Thanks a lot in advance for anything that might lead me in the right direction - I'm kind of desperate. :'(

OK, I've got the right-to-left menu working so the submenus pop-up on the left. Here's what you do.... In dynamenu/lib/layersmenu.inc.php : Change this: $this->moveLayers .= "\tsetLeft('" . $this->tree[$cnt]['layer_label'] . "', " . $menu_name . "LEFT + " . $menu_name . "WIDTH - menuRightShift);\n"; for this: $this->moveLayers .= "\tsetLeft('" . $this->tree[$cnt]["layer_label"] . "', " . $menu_name . "LEFT - getOffsetWidth('" . $this->tree[$cnt]["layer_label"] . "'));\n"; And then in dynamenu/libjs/layersmenu.js : Change this: if (onRight + width1 > windowWidth + windowXOffset) { for this: if (onLeft > windowXOffset) { That's it!!!! It was actually on here before but I thought it was only part of the code! Now I've just got to figure out how to make the submenus work with my fixed position menu.... well, that and the rest of the site! Regards.

"Dynamenu" for osCommerce

Hi guys, I'm a bit stuck! I'm using the vertical flyout menu. I'll see if I can explain my issues... the site's not live so I can't post a link. I''m trying to build the menu so that it's static on the right hand side of the page. By this I mean that I'm using CSS "fixed" position so that it always stays in one place even if you scroll up and down. Ive got that far but then I have a couple of problems: FIRSTLY: I haven't found anything more than a hint as to how to make the submenus pop up on the left by default. I think that this is something that a lot of people would like to do but I can't find any explanations on how to do it. It's kind of essential if you're going to have the menu on the right or it messes up all kinds of things. I've looked on soundforge following a clue for a patch but I couldn't find anything. SECONDLY: The submenus always open next to where the menu is on page-load. If you scroll down, the menu moves but the submenus still pop-up at the top. I have no idea how I could fix it. I'm not exactly an expert in CSS but I'm determined and have Google (legal note: other search engines are available ;) )!!. I would never have thought of doing this as it's a bit above me but I'm working for the strictest boss of them all - my other half!! Thanks for the excellent contribution and regards to all. I'll let you know if I figure it out.
