  1. How many times have you modified your site but the mod went wrong and you wish you had backed up first, this makes creating that backup very easy with just a single click. This contribution creates a zip file of your entire site (excluding the database) for immediate download to your computer so making creation of a site backup quick and easy with just a single click. Your backup, cached and sessions folders will be excluded, others can be easily added. Security: The code will check the user is logged into admin at all stages, so only administrators are able to obtain and download the compressed site copy. Two zipping methods are provided, File and Memory (streaming). File Mode Zipping. The file method first creates a temporary zipped copy of the website within your backup folder then immediately provides the download of that, the temporary zipped copy is then immediately deleted. This process uses very little memory so will always work as long as there is sufficient disk space to store the temporary file. Memory Mode Zipping. With this method the zipping all occurs within memory and at the same time the download is provided (streaming). Memory usage is still relatively low so should not prove an issue, however this requires at least PHP Version 5.1.2, if your server has less than that the memory mode zipping option will not appear. Compatibility: For osC 2.3.x and below Contribution Download Available at http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/8387
  2. Select Product Image Directory & Instant Update For Products This simple contribution does three things. A drop down is added to the product edit page of sub-folders of the images folder to allow you to select where the product image is to be stored. A field is added to allow you to create a new sub-folder of images to store your images in. A function is added in the product edit page to give a instant update option. Some folders within the images directory can be excluded from the drop down list through an exclude list. Only one file to edit (categories.php) and only five edits to that!! Tested on PHP 4 & 5, SQL 4 & 5, osC 2.2 ms2, rc1 & rc2a and is register_globals off compatible. Contribution is found at http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/7088
  3. Auto Backup This contribution automatically backs up your database at regular intervals whilst you are logged into admin. It will create an archive backup at a longer intervals, you set the intervals in admin. It can also zips the backups, if required, also set in admin. The zip function uses the pear library to avoid problems with disabled system etc functions. Contrib is at http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/2314
  4. Remove Unused Images This is an old contrib, but had no official support thread, so here it is! Scenario: I have 9000 image files. 2400 of them are not being used. How to find them and remove them quickly and safely. This script does just that. Here is the full script, read it for more details. Just copy it and run it in the admin root What this script does: * Read the database and report back a list of installed images * Mark (in RED) any DB listed image which do not exist on the server * Read the server images and report back a list * Compare the lists for missing data * Offer you the ability to check or uncheck listed images controlling what gets moved * Move the USER checked listed images from myimage.jpg to UNUSED directory * Allow you to ftp and delete ALL moved images 1.4 by Spooks Added reading of category images Added reading of manufaucturer images Added option to check product description (default action) as many have html descriptions with images. Added reading for some system files to check for images (default is header.php, index.php & stylesheet.css) Added option to remove files from list by pattern match (ie thumbnails). Removed some invalid html code Modified to take image dir from configure.php Corrected links so session wont be lost (could have caused failure of operation before &/or chuck you from admin) Modified to move images to 'UNUSED' directory rather than renaming, means backup not needed and easier to revert. If files are in a sub-directory they will be moved to a sub-directory of 'UNUSED' with the same name. Started support thread as I couldn't find one. 1.3 by azer : removed by default the png and gif support switch bak to osc standart one image product query 1.2 by azer : added back some bacground on columns background bgcolor="#F5F5F5" commented gif reports since it give a lot of infos on image type few people use for products photos changed server variable to get them from configure.php variable folowed the osc php file layout and call the js + html code on the proper section changed the query to hide by default the product that are inactive TODO: have a switch to show inactive , and out of stock or all products TODO : have a switch to select wich extensions to show TODO : "The total number of images on the server are" is wrong if the images are in subfolders Contribution is found at http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/6346
  5. Sam's Remove & Prevent duplicate content with the canonical tag This script will dynamically read the query string calling the page, remove any parameters that have/may cause duplicate content issues with search engines and generate a canonical tag with the modified query string. The search engines will effectively interpret this as a 301 redirect, there will be no effect on the page or url for your visitors. Produces a correctly formatted canonical tag as per your current url (seo or otherwise). Search engines will modify their index according to the tag, removing any duplicates. Any ranking spread caused by the duplicates will be consolidated onto the correct page. Any un=listed query string param's will remain un-effected, barring ensuring a correctly formatted string. Very simple short code addition Will also optionally remove any duplicate content issues with ssl pages. Any instances of the osCsid param will be removed. Default removed param's are: currency, language, page, sort, ref, affiliate_banner_id & osCsid. If you have an existing install of a meta tag contribution, the install only requires the addition of a single line of code and one added function. Contribution can be download here Enjoy!
  6. This is the forum for the Display matching categories in search results contribution This contribution will display matching categories results where the name matches the search, if you have the category description mod (http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,2343), there is code to include that too. Also included is code if you have my hide categories contribution (http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/5907). Included here is an sql query to add a setting in admin to control category search. If a category is selected in the search, then only that (and subcategories if option set) are searched. The from / to date filters are also applied. I`ve also added an option to search categories only. During the writing of this I found what appears to me to be a vulnerability in the search form in OSC2.2 rc1 where it could be used by a malicious attacker to inject sql or code. I have added a trap in advanced_search_result.php for this. Contribution is found at http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/5918 I hope you all find this useful. :thumbsup:
  7. Product Quick Edit This contribution let's you edit products much quicker than going through the categories menu, by searching for the product name, Short Description (if you have that), model (sku), or id. Items displayed on search now include, SKU/Model, ID, Name, Short Description (if you have that), Price and Stock In edit you can alter Products Name, Stock status, Tax Class, Net Price, Gross Price, Description, Short Description (if you have that), Quantity (can be disabled), SKU/Model, Image. Contribution is at: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/5680
  8. Product Listing Enhancements, Thumbnails & Manufacturer Headings This contribution is a much changed version of Product Thumbnail Listing that I started only a short while ago, but as thumbnails is now only one part I felt it should be a new contribution. I was requested to make a contribution to Group Product Listing By Manufacturer with a manufacturer short description. This does exactly that based around the original product listing, so the old admin controls apply along with some new ones. The thumbnails part displays products with thumbnail images in a grid layout, you define how many boxes per line plus image & box sizes. It shows the product image in a box with product name, price, short description (if you have that) & buy now or details button. This also supports Additional Images (http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/1032) If you have this it will select the medium size image if it exists. The customer can switch between thumbnails & manufacturer if you set default to either. If you change default you must select a new category to reset your display. Extra setting are added to admin, additionally existing settings controling the display of Product Name & Price Are Honored. The database query used is unchanged from the original, so order you set in admin etc will apply as before. The style of the display is controlled by a new entry in your css, you can set there if you wish a background image, colours, borders etc. Page views are included in the package so you can see the result. Written on osC2.2 rc1 with PHP5 and has been tested on PHP 4 & 5, SQL 4 & 5, osC 2.2 ms2, rc1 & rc2a and is register_globals compatible. Contribution can be found at: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/6051
  9. Reciprocal Links-2.0 This Contribution is a simple links mod for osC2.2. It provides a easy way to exchange links, if you want something with lots of bells & whistles look at Links Manager II. Clients can submit links that are approved in admin, administrators can also add, edit & delete links. An automatic process in admin can check reciprocal links. The screen shots folder has some sample page views. Its a very easy install. Modifications in this edition (2.0): Corrected a number or errors in the code & language files. Moved the 'submit links' section to its own page Added error checking & display for every submit links input field. Added confirmation of link submission. Commented out the client side Google Page Rank (remove comment marks to show) Commented out the client side Link_codes (remove comment marks to show) Added function to automatically give a nofollow tag to all links not giving a reciprocal. Added headers in admin plus extra fields for 'Link Found' status & date. Added option to check all reciprocal links. Added option to check individual links for reciprocal. Increased field sizes to more suitable amount. Contribution can be found at: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/6099
  10. Simple Multi Image Add-on (Un-Limited) with FancyBox Popups There are many multi image contributions, but I found many have become much too bloated or just didn't fit, so I created this, allowing as many extra product pictures as you want with admin control and fancy lightbox like popups. Features: 1.Its a simple strait forward design, only two files to edit. 2.An un-limited number of additional images can be added to any product without modification. 3.Any product can have as many (or few) images as wanted. 4.Additional images can be deleted if needed. 5.Fancybox is used for the image popups, so all product images can be browsed within a single popup. (Fancybox is like lightbox but better lighter code). 6.Additional image layout can be modified in admin, selecting a horizontal or vertical layout and the number or images to show per row 7.Additional image size is also set in admin. 8.I recommend this is used with OscThumb for auto thumbnailing & faster load times. 9.As a bonus addition, a function is added in the product edit page to give a instant update option. Fancybox is released under the MIT License, details and examples can be found here . To work Fancybox is particular about the doc-type used, check at their site & in the installation. Tested on PHP 4 & 5, SQL 4 & 5, osC 2.2 ms2, rc1 & rc2a and is register_globals off compatible. Contribution is here
  11. Sam's Anti-hacker Account Page Mods Secure your account pages against code/SQL injection attempts, yet allow strong passwords. There are many instances now of websites being hacked (or cracked to use the correct term) and it is necessary to make your site as secure as possible, one important measure in this is to sanitize all visitor inputs to ensure no code injection etc. attempt can work. However this creates an issue, if your user creates a strong password by using characters that are likely to be 'cleaned' either their password will not work, or the account gets a password that is different to what was input (as it was 'sanitized'). This is especially an issue if adding input sanitizing to an old site where visitors have added passwords that are now 'illegal'. This contribution resolves this issue by safely allowing any character to be used within the password, it does this by processing all password inputs before anything else, passwords are translated to hex values, the inputs validated then deleted as no longer required (only the hex strings are processed further). An option is provided to allow string to be reverse translated at the point of password checking to ensure existing passwords will work. This means the passwords now stored in the dBase are salted hashes of the hex string. Once the initial processing is done, all inputs are sanitized. A new option is added to require the user to input a 'strong' password. Other account fields are also subject to additional checks or the input converted: The date of birth field is now a drop down which automatically formats according to the store country, this ensures the format is correct, slashes (/) can still be sanitized and the visitor cannot transpose days & months. The telephone field is checked its numeric (if entered) and contains only limited allowed chars. The post code field is checked for the correct format, but only for UK & USA sites. If strong password is enabled, password forgotten will generate strong passwords. The State/Province/County: field is pre-filled with the zones for the store country, rather than a blank field that gets populated on submit! The Country drop down is pre-selected to the store country. All input fields are sanitized. Contribution will be found at: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/7202 Keep your site & user data safe.
  12. Backup All Store Files In Zip Format This contribution will allow you to save a backup of all your site files in compressed (zip) format on your computer. It will ignore all files in your backup folder as well as your cached ones. My main reason for this release is to address a security hole that was opened by the original contribution. Features (v1.1): 1.Properly incorporated within admin, you must be logged in to back up. 2.Backup directory is excluded (save your dBase backups separately). 3.The cache folder is ignored (as defined within admin). 4.Will work under php 4. 5.Protected commands (exec etc) are not used. Tested on PHP 4 & 5, SQL 4 & 5, osC 2.2 ms2, rc1 & rc2a and is register_globals off compatible. Contribution is found here: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/6986
  13. Hide Categories & Products This is a simple contribution to allow you to hide, disable or inhibit any category & optionally all products within that. I created this a while back but never a support thread, so I'm doing that now. I searched for a solution for this, solutions I found were either over complex, or poorly done, so this is my solution. I believe in keeping things as simple as possible & not re-inventing the wheel. OSC already has functions to hide any product, so I use that for products. This adds a new entry in the category table (categories_status) so all thats needed on the client side is to add a filter to sql queries ( and categories_status = 1 ). This does not allow for per-customer filtering, although I reckon it wouldent be too difficult to add. Most changes occur in admin/categories.php. These allow you to change the status of any category & the status of all products within a category. Contribution is at http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/5907
  14. Pure CSS Image Swap On Hover For osC Buttons This simple mod will allow you to have a mouseover image for any of your osC buttons, its pure css, no javascript, all you have to do is create your hover button pics. Features: 1.A very simple add-on, only one file to edit. 2.Mouseover effect is automatically applied if a button has a hover image. 3.Tested & works in all major browser engines. 4.Pure css. 5.Will work with any varient of osC v2.2. 6.If hover effect is not applied the standard osC function is used. 7.Only one file to edit & only one change to that! 8.Will work with any language. Tested on PHP 4 & 5, SQL 4 & 5, osC 2.2 ms2, rc1 & rc2a and is register_globals off compatible. Contribution will be found here Enjoy .
  15. You may have seen my recent post in tips regarding session timeouts and I`m sure many have experienced occasions when they or their clients have had their edits lost due to session timeout, one of my clients suffered exactly that very recently. Although the post mentioned provides the option of extending the session life, there is a limit you can safely reach, so I`m looking at another option. I`m considering creating a contribution that would use AJAX to make regular saves of the current edit session such that if the users session does expire they would have the option of at least regaining most of their edits. Could the community please indicate if they would be interested in such and if so what features they feel it would need.

    @mr_absinthe OK, glad you could finally test with PEAR and found that works, helps me to track the issue. Not sure the link you gave is of any relevence, as you found, once PEAR is properly set up ,it works. Try this change in mail_backups.php replace (98): $data = @fread($fp,filesize(DIR_FS_BACKUP . $filename)); with: $data = ''; while (!feof($fp)) $data .= @fread($fp, 1024);
  17. I though I`d start this new topic for this contribution as there does'nt appear to be one. This editor can be used to replace any input box and allows many functions normally only seen on commercial packages. It can be easily configured to take the site css files, plus you can add extra fonts, sizes etc. If you need its possible to change a editor instance background colour/image/styles post load. @@Brainbug125 I could add a comment option on mailing backups, I don't think its wise to add a comment to the backup file, I recall Jan saying he did that but it caused an issue. Though auto-backup does add a summary comment, but the backup code in that is different to this (I did a complete re-write from the original) The other way would be to create additional log files.
  22. I see there have been many updates, have you applied them.

    if your needing to refer to content in a parent dir, just place ../ at the head of the url, don't use absolute links, ie ../image/image.jpg
  24. 1st you have a serious problem with the menu's (header and footer) the links are not formatted correctly & can cause loss of cart/login etc http://forums.oscommerce.com/topic/330479-what-is-the-oscsid-why-you-must-not-loose-it/ I would suspect you add-to cart problem is an attributes issue, if a product has attributes and the attributes array is not correctly formated then the cart addition is rejected. Try removing all attributes from a product then adding that.
