    Hi there everybody,

Simon Funk and I have started translating the new version 3.0 language files from English into German. So far part of the admin files as well as part of the frontend files have been translated, but as I'm not having as much time as I'd like to have, I wanted to ask for any volunteers to help us translate the still missing files. Just like those guys who are translating complete Harry Potter books almost over night, with help of hundreds of contributors each translating only a few pages :-"

Anybody interested in this community effort is very welcome to contact me by PM. The process would be to first look if a corresponding German language string is available from version 2.2 and copy/paste it into the new XML or language definition file (very simple also for non programmers). If no translation is available it needs to be translated in the exiting terminology. So it would be good if you know osCommerce a little bit, so that there is some consistency with the terms used.

As I'm a certified German/English translator I'll look over the completed language package in the end and do the proof reading to assure the quality of the translation as well as the correct XML syntax. But as I said before. Even if you don't know XML or PHP you'll be fine to help us out. Don't worry!

Looking forward to as many replies as possible. If a couple of dozen contributors are willing to help, this will be peanuts to complete on a short term basis and then commit to the SVN repository ;)

    Cheers, Nick
