[CONTRIBUTION] Ultimate SEO URLs v2.1 - by Chemo

A really basic question from a newbie: What is the end benefit of this contribution? More pages can be indexed by SEs? Easier, more appealing web addresses for customers? I think I understand what it does, now I'm trying to explain its importance. Thanks, and sorry for the softball question, but I'm trying to learn. Ryan

Product attribute returns field ID from Paypal IPN

Unfortunately I didn't figure it out, and haven't heard from the smarties who are able to resolve it. I instead switch the Paypal IPN off, and went baack to the original Paypal module with a description during the check out process stating a customer must return to my site after paying with paypal... Anyone, else resolve the Paypal IPN?

Product attribute returns field ID from Paypal IPN

Perhaps the moderator should move this to Payment Modules > PayPal Either way, after researching others posts and trying at least one other fix which was to modify the catalog/product_attributes from this thread http://forums.oscommerce.com/index.php?sho...20IPN&st=20 Original code: <td align="center" class="smallText"> <?php echo $options_values["products_options_id"]; ?> </td> <!-- BOF Product Option Type --> <td class="smallText"> <?php echo translate_type_to_name($options_values["products_options_type"]); ?> </td> <!-- CLR 030212 - Add column for option type //--> <td class="smallText"> <?php echo $options_values["products_options_length"]; ?> </td> <!-- CLR 030212 - Add column for option length //--> <td class="smallText"> <?php echo $options_values["products_options_comment"]; ?> </td> <!-- CLR 030212 - Add column for option comment //--> <!-- EOF Product Option Type --> With added line under <!-- BOF Product Option Type --> <td align="center" class="smallText"> <?php echo $options_values["products_options_id"]; ?> </td> <!-- BOF Product Option Type --> <td class="smallText"><?php echo $options_values['products_options_name']; ?></td> <td class="smallText"> <?php echo translate_type_to_name($options_values["products_options_type"]); ?> </td> <!-- CLR 030212 - Add column for option type //--> <td class="smallText"> <?php echo $options_values["products_options_length"]; ?> </td> <!-- CLR 030212 - Add column for option length //--> <td class="smallText"> <?php echo $options_values["products_options_comment"]; ?> </td> <!-- CLR 030212 - Add column for option comment //--> <!-- EOF Product Option Type --> However, it did not appear to work. I trying to find an answer already, or figure it out on my own, but my first experience with building a site was 2 months ago, and I am hoping someone far more brilliant can point me in the right direction Here is an example from the confirmation email from ordering via check and the name 'Tempt' does appear Products ------------------------------------------------------ 1 x Lady Bug #1 () = $24.65 Bib Color Pink Collar/Neck Lace Trimmed Collar/Neck Color Pink Name: (Up to 9 letters) Tempt ------------------------------------------------------ Here is an example from Paypal IPN Products ------------------------------------------------------ 1 x Example -Not for Sale = $0.13 Bib Color Pink Collar/Neck Color Red Collar/Neck Lace Trimmed Lettering Black with white polka dots Name: (Up to 9 letters) TEXT ------------------------------------------------------ Thanks for you help, Ryan
  4. Hi, I've installed the product attributes options contribution, as well as the Paypal IPN. I have a field in the product attributes that is an open for a customer to enter a name. It appears to work with when checking out paying by check. However, when paying with the Paypal IPN, it returns the product options name, and the product options type, but does not return the actual name entered. For example: Name: (Up to 9 letters) TEXT I'm a relative newbie, but have tried to learn and research. I have checked the OSC database and the product_options_values displays TEXT and not the actual name. Thank you for helping! Ryan

    text attribute option

Did you ever get this resolved?

attribute name TEXT is not showing up in cart

Did anyone resolve this? I also have product attributes installed. It appears to be working when I order; however, an order came through where someone was charged for the product attribute, but the value I see in the admin and db refers to the attribute ID. The attribute allows customers to type in a name, but the value that came through in the db/admin = TEXT? Any ideas?

    Gift Certificate

Hi all, I'm a completely new to this since Feb., but slowly learning and I would like to add a gift certificate option. I see a number of possible options, and would like some real world opinions on how they are working or if you'd suggest one vs another for ease of use for a newbie. Gift Certificates Module 2.2 28 Jan 2008 For example: this module requires: ImageMagick and ps2pdf to process the downloadable images of the gift certificates; email addresses for recipients. I host through LP, and don't believe either of these options are installed in my account, I do not know what I would need to do to 'upload' the script/db/program to be able to use these in my osC cart? Gift Voucher Creator & Reporter Tool 2.2 24 Oct 2007 Account Balance (gift certificate redemption) 2.2 30 May 2007 Gift Ideas Module 2.2 12 Oct 2006 Gift Certificates - Generic 2.2 22 Nov 2003 Gift Certificate Images Thank you, Ryan

    Thanks for the info. Ryan

    Difference between Paypal & Paypal_IPN

It would seem that once redirected to Paypal the customer can choose the method of payment. Is there a reason to offer both options or does one suffice? Thanks, Ryan

Fix for paypal payment received without order in OSC

Unfortunately, this contribution does not seem to have worked for me. I followed the detailed install instructions, and the store seems to work as intended, but I still do not see orders in the admin of osCommerce. In addition, I've added an 'order status' from the localization as one thread stated, and still nothing shows in the admin, but I can retrieve entering in the order number, and the emails work.... Any ideas? Assuming I can get the contribution working, can anyone provide guidance on how to update the redirect from Paypal to go to checkout_success.php instead of shopping_cart.php. I'm still new at this but I'm hoping it may be as simple as find/replace in one of the files? Thanks, Ryan

Product Attributes - Option Type Feature

Thank you Leslie (!) I host through Lunarpages, and had to ask them if I had phpmyadmin, and where it was, doh. Once they informed me I do, and where, your instructions worked like a charm! I was all smiles to see my osC/admin with the TEXT option working. This community is really impressive. Thank you so much, Ryan

Product Attributes - Option Type Feature

No, I have never run any SQL files, are you able to describe how to? I have looked at the...'insert_text_option_value' and 'product_type_option', but i don't know what to do with them. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! Ryan
  13. I knew nothing about this stuff websites/programming 2 weeks ago, and now know slightly more than nothing, ie newbie. I am wanting to have a product attribute where the customer can personalize the product by 'submitting' their name with the product. I found the Product Attributes - Option Type Feature contribution through another post. And I think I have the add-on (partly?) installed. I copied the files in the [catalog] folder of the contribution over the files in my own catalog [osCommerce]. I have not done anything else- no additional editing code or copying other files. When I then login to the admin of my osCommerce store then go to Catalog then Product Attributes I do see the [Length] text area, the drop down with (text, radio, checkbox, and textarea). However, when I try to add an attribute I get the following error message: 1054 - Unknown column 'products_options_type' in 'field list' insert into products_options (products_options_id, products_options_name, language_id, products_options_type, products_options_length, products_options_comment) values ('6', 'Child Name', '1', '1', '9', '') [TEP STOP] 1) What do I need to do to complete the install/correct the error? 2) For the attributes I've already created, do I need to do anything to assign [length] and [type] info? 2.1)Is this what the Clone vs Dynamic deals with? to assign in mass 'default' characteristics to the old attributes? Product Attributes - Option Type Feature http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...rch,option+type Break it down like I know next to nothing...it's not far from the truth. Thank you for any help! Ryan
