    Accepting credit cards-- advice?

So I've used OSC to build three sites so far (http://www.sturialedesigns.com and http://ww.secolo20.com being two of them) but I've never hooked it up with credit card processing. I now have a third site to build and they need to take order payments using cards-- in your opinions, is it fairly easy to configure OSC to do this? What is the process exactly? I think I understand that the client would have to have an account with a credit card processor, some of which are featured in the OSC Payment module...but, your feedback on this would be great-- I would love to know what the whole process is before I talk to my client. Also-- would there be any advantage in using something like Yahoo Stores-- as far as I can tell, OSC performs the same functions, and also with YS the merchant has to create an account with a credit card processor (this function is not provided by YS, correct?) Thanks for your input!
  2. Anyone? Ideas are most appreciated... thanks!
  3. It took awhile but I've managed to install Dynamic MoPics and I like the functionality. My client now wants something slightly different, and I'm not sure if it's possible. Instead of the main product pic being a thumbnail, he'd like it to be a larger-sized pic, with the rest of the product pics on the page remaining thumbnail sized. You can see it my test here: http://www.muchdesign.com/leonon/product_i...&products_id=30 So, "test one thumb" would instead be a larger sized picture, and the rest of the images would remain as-is. Ideas? Thanks so much!
  4. I've installed the Dynamic Header Menu contrib and it's great: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1238 But I need to make a slight mod and I don't know how to go about this... currently, the category and subcategory are both clickable. I want to make the category NON-clickable, and keep the subcategories as links. If you check my site: http://www.muchdesign.com/leonon For example, I'd like "Seating" to NOT be a link, but the subcategories under "Seating" to still be links. Any ideas on how to go about this? Thanks in advance!

Thanks again, Dreamscape. I've got those problems fixed and now can start on the others (which are probably addressed elsewhere on these threads). Much obliged!

Actually I get three errors: Warning: main(includes/modules/dynamic_mopics.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/muchdesi/public_html/leonon/product_info.php on line 118 Warning: main(includes/modules/dynamic_mopics.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/muchdesi/public_html/leonon/product_info.php on line 118 Warning: main(): Failed opening 'includes/modules/dynamic_mopics.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/muchdesi/public_html/leonon/product_info.php on line 118 And the code from product_info.php, line 118 is still the same: I feel like there is something basic going wrong; I've read through both support threads for this contrib and haven't seen this addressed yet. (well at least I'm unique!) Please, ideas are appreciated, I'm at the end of my rope...

Hey, that helped, thank you so much!! Of course now I get another error: Warning: main(includes/modules/dynamic_mopics.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/muchdesi/public_html/leonon/product_info.php on line 118 Here's the code from product_info.php, line 118: <td><?php include(DIR_WS_MODULES . FILENAME_DYNAMIC_MOPICS); ?></td> What could be going wrong here?? Again, thank you *so much* for any help...

Please help! I haven't even yet run into any of the problems others have because my error is even more basic, but I don't know how to fix it. Here's my error on product_info.php: Fatal error: Call to undefined function: ?define() in /home/muchdesi/public_html/leonon/includes/configure.php on line 35 And here's my code from configure.php, line 35: define('IN_IMAGE_BIGIMAGES','big_images/'); //directory inside catalog/images where your big images are stored My images are indeed on the server in images/big_images... Ideas are much appreciated!
  9. Kavita, thanks, when the customer subscribes/unsubscribes their choice is passed along to the db. My question is this: the customer gets no verification that their choice has been logged, they are just returned to the same page they were on. Is there any functionality built for them to receive verification?
  10. Kavita, should that be added within catalog/subscription_center.php, or catalog/includes/languages/english/subscription_center.php? What will it do? Thanks...

    Unsubscribe page, and embedded links?

Whoops...posted this in the wrong place. Wish I knew how to delete it! Sorry!
  12. First off, thanks to all of you who have posted your errors and fixes...you've helped me fix my own site and I appreciate it! Question one: When a user wants to unsubscribe at subscription_center.php, they click the "unsubscribe" radio button and then the "continue" button...which returns them to the same page (subscription_center.php) without any indication that they have been unsubscribed (which, in Admin, they actually have been). Is this the way it's supposed to work, or should there be some kind of unsubscribe verification? Question two: Is it indeed true that we can't embed html links into the emails? Isn't one of the main points of a newsletter to drive traffic to a site? Has anyone developed a workaround for this issue? Thanks!

    Newsletter Contribution--error, any ideas?

Ok, it turns out that I did in fact subscribe to the newsletter (received a welcome email from my site) but the error message is still being displayed. Ideas on this? thanks...
  15. I've added the Newsletter_module_v02 contribution to my site: http://www.muchdesign.com/leonon It has correctly added "Newsletter Center" to the left navigtion. After clicking "subscribe" and filling out the form, the following error is returned: Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/muchdesi/public_html/leonon/includes/classes/snoopy1.class.php:2104) in /home/muchdesi/public_html/leonon/newsletters_subscribe.php on line 73 I would appreciate any ideas on what might be causing this errror? I have been working on this all day and am about to lose my mind, and I have no idea what this means. Ideas are gratefully appreciated...thanks... (newsletters_subscribe.php is one of the new files added via this contrib)
