  1. I don't recommend as I am lost chargeback battle with Google Checkout, as the service ordigital goods are not covered by the Payment Guarantee

What do you recommend? I have looked at paypal and have an account with them, but getting it implemented is not easy and their sandbox really stinks. I am very confused with Paypal.

  2. I have searched this topic and others for an answer but without luck.

I cannot get the google checkout for digital delivery working. If I check out with credit card payment everything works fine. However, the Google checkout returns me to a thank you page without an opportunity to download the product. If I login first then it will return the download link, but it is not active. Can anyone help with this? Please!!

  5. After successfully processing a digital download payment with google checkout, and clicking the link "Click here to retrieve your purchase" the system returns to the download page, but the link to download the product is not active. If I use a credit card test the link is active upon return.

Any ideas why the link may not be active?

  6. There was no reason to uninstall it. I was saying just not to use that sitemap portion, "CREATE_XML_SITEMAPS," in admin. The actual sitemap files would probably need to be deleted too. The basic function of the dynamic sitemap contribuiton is still a good thing to have since it provides quick links to your products for the search engines as well as visitors to your site.

Understand. Thanks. The V 1.6 version seems to be doing fine for the site sitemap and Google Sitemap add-on created an acceptable sitemap for Google. So I am fine for now. I do appreciate you responding to my plea for help and for providing very good guidance.

  7. The sitemap creation addtion to this contribution was unnecessary and done incorrectly. It should not be used (the sitemap generation, not the actual sitemap) for the very reason you state. That is the purpose of the google sitemap contribution.

    Jack,

Having given it some more thought, I decided to uninstall the V4.0.1 contribution and then installed the v1.6. I will now look at the Google sitemap contibution. I won't touch the Dynamc Sitemap install unless you think some other later contributions would be advisable.

Thanks for your help and guidance.

Ok, Jack. Let me see if I understand this. I should remove files and references to "CREATE_XML_SITEMAPS" from the installation process. The remaining installation will create my onsite sitemap for customer viewing.

Then I should download and use the Google Sitemap contribution to produce my XML sitemaps.

    Will that do it?

I do appreciate your help. I have been wrestling with this for sometime now.

  9. Can anyone tell me what is causing W3C validator to return this warning: NET-enabling start-tag requires SHORTTAG YES"?

I feel like it has to do with the "transparent.png" image being used by Dynamic Menu.

I have Dynamic Menu v1.12.1 installed. I have 0 errors and this warning appearing 501 times from the validation. I really want to clear it up to be certain it is not causing me problems with Google Adsense.

    Thanks for your help.

  12. Thank you very much, Jack. Amazing what getting in the right pew will do for you.

I apparently had copied the wrong header_tag.php file to that directory. Works fine now.

BTW, I have changed my admin directory name.

Thanks again for the contribution and the quick response.

  13. I thought I was submitting this message to this forum, but apparently it went to the General Support forum instead. Getting no replies there. I hope I have found the right forum now. Can someone please help me with this?

I don't know what I have missed but there seems to be at least two functions missing from my install. The "addmissingpages" and the "getfilelist" functions are no where to be found. I know I have probably done something wrong, but don't know what. I have searched every installation file and txt page for any reference to the function names and get nothing. I can find no feference to them in any file on my hard drive except the file that calls them (header_tag_seo.php). I see where others have had this problem but there is no resolution shown.

Can someone help me locate these functions, please?

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: addmissingpages() in c:\easyphp1-8\www\fixstuff\header_tags_seo.php on line 21

  16. There are two different kinds of sitemaps: one just for the search engines and never seen by customers, as generated by the google sitemap contribution, and one seen by the customers. The latter is an actual sitemap on the site but the search engines also use to locate pages on your site. Both should be installed.

If you install the Ultimate SEO contribution, it will convert your url's to some more relevant to the pages they are for, so that should be done. If you install the google sitemap, it will recognize those rewritten urls and place them in the sitemap files. The section of code that creates the sitemaps for the Dynamic Sitemap contribution will not recognize them and will create, in effect, invalid url's (in the sense that Ultimate SEO has to issue 301's for them).

    Jack

    Thanks Jack.

Taking your advice, I have deleted everything having to do with SEO and Sitemaps from my site and installed Ultimate SEO by Chemo and the Dynamic Sitemap contribution.

Thanks for the nice detailed response.

    Eddie

  17. You can't have two url rewriters installed and these two, Googlesitemap.php; goolge_sitemap.php, also appear redundant. Dynamic Sitemap has a sitemap on the shop that your customers can use and one in admin for the search engines, which should be used. So, all-in-all, it seems you have a mess there.

If you are wanting a sitemap to submit to the search engines, then the google sitemap by Chemo is still the best, in my opinion. Having Ultimate SEO or SEO-G (although that has problems and is poorly supported) installed will help with that. Having the Dynamic Sitemap contribution installed is a good idea but don't use the included admin sitemap option.

    Thanks Jack.

If I understand your reply, you would have me install google sitemap by chemo for search engine submission, Ultimate SEO to support the google sitemap, and Dynamic Sitemap.

Wouldn't the Google Sitemap and the Dynamic Sitemap installations be redundant. I wish the different contributions gave some detail about the processes of the particular add-on. I really don't understand what each is doing and how they go about doing what they do. For instance, how does the Dynamic Sitemap add-on work if not started from the admin panel? What good is it if I don't use the admin button to create the xml google file? And what about the notify switch; is it not needed? And how would running it add to the other two?

My immediate goal is to have my site crawled and indexed by major search engines. I believe I need to create and upload a good sitemap for that to happen. I understand that having my site optimized for search engines would be a plus, buty may not be necessary. What I don't understand is which add-ons will best accomplish this goal and how they work together to do that. I notice you are running Dynamic Sitemap and Ultmate SEO.

I really appreciate any insight you may be able, or willing (it is a big order), to lend. Thanks again.

  18. I have gotten myself totally confused about SEO and sitemaps. At this time I have installed: SEO URL; SEO-G; Googlesitemap.php; goolge_sitemap.php and Dynamic Sitemap. I paid for one of the SEO contributions.

Do I need all of these, any of these, or some combination of the five? At this moment I don't think any of them are working, but I am not sure how I would know anyway. Somehow I need something that will create a good google sitemap.

Can anyone please straigten me out?

    Eddie

  19. I did a 2.2 install with v1_1_2 by naresh (17 Dec 07) had no problems, did`nt do any other mods, apart from my re-styling.

    Cheers B)

Thanks spooks. I installed it and seems to be working ok. Hopefully all the mods that have followed are not needed. I appreciate your response. Do you know anything about the affiliate contribution?

  20. I have installed osCAffiliate 2.8, but can't figure out how to update the FAQs. I apparently have not installed all the modules, but I have been over the install instructions many times with nothing jumping out at me.

Is there no one out there that knows anything about this contribution?
