I have not worked with @raiwa directly, however he has provided me unparalleled support for various areas of osCommerce through the years. He has always been helpful, courteous, professional, concise and patient, even though some of my requests were clearly beyond what would be considered "regular technical support". His generosity, and ability to see clearly through the various slightly-confused bug-reports from non-coder users, never cease to amaze me. A high quality human!

Please keep in mind that you are trying to install an addon into a Phoenix shop that was not written for Phoenix. I think it should still work but until I release a Phoenix version it might be best to not try this one.
As for switching shops, each cart platform has advantages but I think you will be hard-pressed to find one that is as flexible as oscommerce, especially with new addons coming out that are mostly plug n' play. Also, if you are going to pay for an installation, there are people here that you can pay.

I think I gave up on this one...faced the same issues and fate as Malcolm did.  My advice...move along...it will be a time sink and not likely end well.

It shouldn't be like this. I have several sites using kiss it together with image subfolders and it works like you say.
Just to be sure, you have the "skus" directory included in the image path in the database? Like: "skus/category_name/my_big_image.jpg"

Thanks Rainer....you get a gold star. 🤩  That would explain it.  My images are outside the images directory and needed some code added to their urls so they could be located.   As a test I removed the extra code from one of my skus and it works as it should.  Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I don't know what you did, but THANK YOU!  All works perfectly now, with captcha enabled, in both create account and contact us pages.
You're one of the best contributors of all time in this forum - thank you for all of your hard work and for sharing it with the community!

Brilliant idea and coupled with your original suggestion of changing the access point of pages like create_account I think it would go along way to solving the bot issue. 👍

I not want to be a game breaker here.
But for the address part, google seemed to took care of it as well.
    Google: Autocomplete Address Form

I just want to point out that most of the problems are covered in so much ways and by so much people and company who offer solutions.

I perhaps stirred the pot a little here.
But i think in the end it the discussion was worth it.
I definitely noticed that what i mentioned gave some second thoughts.

Nothing of what i Sayed was to hurt anyone in one way or the other, or try to let them look bad.

I think with what i told, opened doors to other views.

There is a real difference in running a shop or a forum or a blog.
I understand , the quicker the process, no burdens in registration etc, could make the purchase of an item quicker.
But it is good to talk about it, and even more........... to listen what the other say or try to understand

I excuse to anyone who felt or thought i was or that i  am a disturbing factor.

My screenshot was from the admin side. We automatically send random generated passwords to the client via welcome email and try to collect minimal info at the time of checkout.
I thought about the email confirmation email, however over 75% of our clients want to just check out. Any delay in the checkout process can result in a lost sale. So that would not work.
I agree with you on this. Should any visitor even be creating an account without an actual purchase to start with? An option in admin could toggle that as an option for those that would.  In our case we are not interested in people signing up for a subscription or discounts as some commerce sites do. Perhaps, on the confirmation page the client is offered the opportunity to create an account  at the end of the checkout confirmation (admin can set default). So, create_account would not be offered as a standalone, automatic account creation would only occur after a bonafide purchase. And of course the admin would need to be able to create an account from admin side.
    I will noodle this more.

Sorry I can't offer you any guidance with that.  I use an older version but I believe there are more up-to-date versions available.  The admin side of osC hasn't changed much so most versions, if they work at all, should work with your version of osC.   Maybe someone who has installed it recently will chime in or maybe post that question in the Easy Populate support thread.

Have a look at Easy Populate...create an export file so you can see what data is needed.  Populate that with your spreadsheet information and then import it.   Once you get it formatted the way you need it, it should be pretty useful to use on a weekly basis.

Started playing and figured out what to do.
If anyone is interested, I simply replaced all instances of the word model with the word quantity in admin/specials.php
Then I added a new entry in admin/includes/languages/english/specials.php to define the quantity heading
    define('SPECIALS_ENHANCED_TH_QUANTITY','Quantity');
I put that below the entry for Model in case I ever want to go back and use it in the future.  Now Advanced Specials looks like this:

Clicking around everything seems fine.  If anyone thinks there might be conflict, please reply!

Try adding another bracket "(" before the first one following the initial if....you have 1 opening bracket but 2 closing ones.

Dan Cole reacted to John W in AIM Module - MD5 Hash Is Going Away. Is there an update?
On my test site using my AIM module on their test server/sandbox it works with all the MD5 code commented out of the aim module.  I never had anything entered for it and all the md5 code was contingent on something being entered.  I think the md5 code was carry over from when Harald did the SIM module, but I'm guessing.
I also downloaded their SDK for the api and have played with that a little on my test site with Netbeans.  Netbeans is helpful because it parses the code and can take you right to a class or method without having to hunt for it.  Since they have about 500 files in this api, NB is really helpful.  I used their sample code to get it to work from my test site.  I think we could reuse a lot of the aim module code and convert it to use the api.

Just wanted to chime in about this add on again.
A lot of the products we sell are MAPPed items, so specials are often controlled by the manufacturers, and vary in both the amount and duration a promotional discount can be offered.  In the past, this has required a lot of time and effort to set up and manage properly, given the number of products we offer.   We used Advanced Specials to manage this process for Black Friday and it made the whole process a breeze.  We could even set the specials up, days in advance, and they were just applied to the products automatically when the time arrived.  If you find yourself in a similar situation, with lots of specials to manage, I would highly recommend this add-on.  From a design point of view the add-on could use some work but once your figure out how things are intended to work, it is a real time saver.
A big well done to all those who had a hand in the development of this add-on over the years.  It saved us a ton of time already and should allow us to offer other specials throughout the year, many of which we've not bothered with in the past, because of the work involved.
    THANK YOU.
