    USPS vs. USPS Methods?

David, What did you end up doing? Did you ever get an answer? I am also using 2.3.3, and find that the USPS module that came with it lacking in functionality like I had with 2.2. I would like to know which USPS Method or module would work with 2.3.3 that also has the latest USPS changes in it. Anyone?
  2. Help please. I have OSC 2.3.3 installed. How do I tell which version of USPS I have installed so I can update as required? This is the comments in the USPS file. Does not show a version. /* $Id$ osCommerce, Open Source E-Commerce Solutions http://www.oscommerce.com Copyright © 2008 osCommerce Released under the GNU General Public License Based on USPS Methods 26-Feb-2010 http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/487 */ Should I install 5.2 or 6.1 version?
  3. According to my debug file, I am getting back three Package ID's, one for Priority Mail, one for First Class, and one for Parcel Post. These three are the only ones I have selected in the usps admin module to display. However, all I get on the screen are Priority and Parcel. Still looking for any ideas.........
  4. I updated to USPS Methods 6.0 a while back, and all shipping options were showing that I had selected. Now now of the First Class options are appearing on the checkout page. Any ideas on where I should look?

    paypal ipn and ccgv

The only problem I am having is that the coupon code is not adjusted as one being used after it has been used. Where should this be done if using Paypal IPN?? Is it the $order_total_modules->apply_credit(); function that I see in checkout_process? If so, where should this be done if using Paypal IPN.....???????

    paypal ipn and ccgv

Is anyone reading this thread? I need to know what changes are needed to Paypal IPN 2.3.3 with CCGV 5.21 installed. I have tried to merge the checkout_process CCGV changes into my Paypal IPN files, and have failed. Can anyone help ?

    paypal ipn and ccgv

I have Paypal IPN 2.3.3 installed, and the latest CCGV. The correct totals are passed to Paypal, and everything seems to work ok except when the user returns to the store. The Coupon code is still showing in the Shopping cart. Can someone tell me how/where this gets reset?
  8. Ok, I finally got the correct total passed to Paypal, but it is ugly. Since I am also using the Loyalty Discount contrib, I had to do the following: 1. Make sure the Coupon Discount is first and the Loyalty Discount is second. 2. Make sure you check that the Subtotal reflects the Coupon Discount discount. So right now I can live with that. But there is still the problem of reloading the Order Confirmation screen or backing up one screen to the payment Information screen, changing nothing, then hitting Continue. If using the Paypal IPN, then I get the 1062 Duplicate Entry error. I only accept two forms of payment - Check or Paypal. If I select Check and enter a coupon code, then I can bounce between the Payment Information Screen and Order Confirmation all day long and the totals are correct, and no 1062 error. But if I select paypal first on the Payment Screen, then go to the Order Confirmation screen, hit back to go back to payment screen, change nothing, then select Continue, then sometims I'll get the 1062 error and the discount, and sometimes I'll not get the error but no discount. Real flakey!!!! BTW I am using Mozilla Firefox and have not tested with other browsers. Can anyone tell me if there is a 'newer' 'better supported' Discount Coupon contrib available that works?
  9. I hate to post another question, but now I am stuck. Like a few other posts I have found, my discount is not passed to Paypal IPN. I am using the PayPal IPN v2.3.4 (although it says v2.3.3) contribution, and have made sure that the Transaction type is set to 'aggregate'. I believe I had to do that back when I installed the Loyalty Discount v 1.51. With the Loyalty Discount, the correct subtotal is showed when passed to PayPal IPN. I have also made the modification to the paypal_ipn.php file as specified in the contribution. The Order Confirmation screen looks good on first entry after entering in a test coupon code and selecting Paypal as payment. All numbers look correct. However, if I refresh this Order Confirmation screen, I get the following error on top of the screen: 1062 - Duplicate entry '10%Thanks-80' for key 1 insert into discount_coupons_to_orders (coupons_id, orders_id) values ('10%Thanks', '80') [TEP STOP] The 10%Thanks is my coupon code I am testing with. Any ideas where I look as to why the error and why this discount is not passed to PayPal?
  10. Yes, and thanks for the reply. But it looks like I got it fixed. Apparently the USPS shipping module was not working correctly, so once I unloaded that and then re-installed USPS module, the tax calculation worked as it should. Just took me awhile to work thru the issues. Thanks. This is going to be a valuable contribution. Now I can get on with the testing........ Doc
  11. I have just added this contribution to my MS2 RC2 and noticed that Taxes are no longer calculated on Shipping costs. Previously to adding this contribution, Taxes were calculated on the Shipping charge. Does anyone know where to look to find out why? BTW - I also have the Loyalty Discount contribution installed, and it worked fine prior to adding this Discount Coupon contribution in regards to calculating the tax. My order looks like this: SubTotal Loyalty Discount (if any) Discount Coupon Shipping Tax Total Tax should be calculated on Subtotal - Loyalty Discount - Discount Coupon + Shipping. Instead I get Tax calculated on just Subtotal - Loyalty Discount - Discount Coupon. Any help would be appreciated. Doc

    [Contribution] - USPS Methods

Found my problem. Sure would help to have some better documentation with the contribution on how methods are selected for adding to the screen. What I did was make sure that the text in the usps.php file for the intl_types array matches EXACTLY the sevice id descriptions that are returned by USPS. Thus to have First Class Mail International Package rates to show up, I had to make sure that the array looked liked this..... $this->intl_types = array( 'FIRST-CLASS MAIL INT' => 'First Class Mail International Package', 'GLOBAL EXPRESS' => 'Global Express Guaranteed', 'GLOBAL EXPRESS NON-DOC RECT' => 'Global Express Guaranteed Non-Document Rectangular', 'GLOBAL EXPRESS NON-DOC NON-RECT' => 'Global Express Guaranteed Non-Document Non-Rectangular', 'EXPRESS MAIL INT' => 'Express Mail International (EMS)', 'EXPRESS MAIL INT FLAT RATE ENV' => 'Express Mail International (EMS) Flat Rate Envelope', 'PRIORITY MAIL INT' => 'Priority Mail International', 'PRIORITY MAIL INT FLAT RATE ENV' => 'Priority Mail International Flat-Rate Envelope', 'PRIORITY MAIL INT FLAT RATE BOX' => 'Priority Mail International Flat Rate Box' ); Note that '-' (dashes) make a difference. Not sure this was the 'correct' fix, but it worked for me.

    [Contribution] - USPS Methods

i was having the same problem where no matter which method the customer selected for International shipping, the next screen would always show the Global Express rate. Then I installed this latest USPS 3.02 contribution, and that problem went away. HOWEVER, none of the First-Class International shipping methods appear as an option for the customer. For a 2 oz package, all I get are the following methods on the screen (and appropriate rates): United States Postal Service (1 x 2oz) Priority Mail International Express Mail International (EMS) Global Express Guaranteed Non-Document Non-Rectangular Global Express Guaranteed Non-Document Rectangular Global Express Guaranteed In Admin, I have all the available shipping methods selected for International: Int'l Shipping Methods GLOBAL EXPRESS GLOBAL EXPRESS NON-DOC RECT GLOBAL EXPRESS NON-DOC NON-RECT EXPRESS MAIL INT EXPRESS MAIL INT FLAT RATE ENV PRIORITY MAIL INT PRIORITY MAIL INT FLAT RATE ENV PRIORITY MAIL INT FLAT RATE BOX FIRST-CLASS MAIL INT Looking at the data returned from the USPS, I do see the FIRST-CLASS MAIL INT rates: <Service ID="13"><Pounds>0</Pounds><Ounces>2</Ounces><MailType>Package</MailType><Cou ntry>CANADA</Country> <Postage>1.00</Postage><SvcCommitments>Varies</SvcCommitments> <SvcDescription>First Class Mail International Letters</SvcDescription> <MaxDimensions>Max. length 11.5", height 6 1/8" or more than 1/4" thick</MaxDimensions><MaxWeight>0.2188</MaxWeight></Service> <Service ID="14"><Pounds>0</Pounds><Ounces>2</Ounces><MailType>Package</MailType><Cou ntry>CANADA</Country> <Postage>1.29</Postage><SvcCommitments>Varies</SvcCommitments> <SvcDescription>First Class Mail International Large Envelope</SvcDescription> <MaxDimensions>Max. length 15", height 12 or more than 3/4" thick</MaxDimensions><MaxWeight>4</MaxWeight></Service> <Service ID="15"><Pounds>0</Pounds><Ounces>2</Ounces><MailType>Package</MailType><Cou ntry>CANADA</Country> <Postage>1.49</Postage><SvcCommitments>Varies</SvcCommitments> <SvcDescription>First Class Mail International Package</SvcDescription> <MaxDimensions>Max. length 24", max length, height and depth (thickness) combined 36"</MaxDimensions><MaxWeight>4</MaxWeight></Service> Does anyone have a clue why this is happening, or how the individual shipping methods are selected to display?

    ot_loyalty_discount and paypal

I am also interested in a solution for this. Putting the Loyalty discount at the end (ie 999 sort order) is not the best solution, IMHO. This causes the tax to be calculated on the non-discounted price, which is not the norm in most all cases I have seen. The discount should first be taken and then the tax calculated. So the question remains, How can the Paypal IPN be modified to show the discounted price as the Item Total amount? Anyone?
