Jack_mcs got a reaction from Philo2005 in Google XML Sitemap SEO
@Philo20051 - Yes, that file should be deleted. You should have seen a button to delete it when you ran the file.
2 - Unfortunately, it does not create multiple language map files. There's a way to do it manually but it requires editing files. If that was a one-time thing then it would be Ok for a temp solution. But this addon should be ran frequently so that is not a good solution. I've added this to things to do for the next version but it will not be completed anytime soon.

Great idea. This should help users searching for an addon. I don't know if it is possible or not but a vote option with all of the posted addons would be nice. Then people that use them can vote on them as to whether they work well or not. Just a thought. .

    Hi all!!
The idea of this post is to make it easier for new users who want to migrate to Phoenix 1.0.4.0, a list of addons available for free in the market, so that users can evaluate whether it is convenient for them to make a migration to Phoenix or continue in Frozen (which is stable and already has all the addons that an average user needs).
I will list all the TESTED (by me) addons that are available.
You can all publish the addons that you tried and are available in the market.
    Its prohibited :
    - Request support (for this you must go to the creator of the addon or the corresponding support page)
    - Mention addons that are not in the market

The format for posting would be:
    Addon Name
    Link in the market
Phoenix version that is certified to work
Brief description of what that addon does
Remember that the spirit of OSC is to share.
    love and peace
    Valqui

Regarding the warnings, I will try to get an updated version uploaded soon.
Regarding the tax, I have clients that have shops that use tax and others that don't. But they are using the later version, which has not been released, so that might be the reason.

@rsthomasThe main idea behind all of my SEO-type addons is to provide quick links to products. That helps the search engines in getting the pages listed. So, in answer to your main question, yes, this addon will help with SEO but it is not the only thing that should be done.
First, you should install the Google Sitemap, if you haven't already. Once it is working, add the maps to your google webmaster account, and Bings too if you like. Once the maps are entered, check back in a few days to see what google did with them. Fix any problems they find. They won't process all of the links in one go. For that many products, it could take weeks, or even more if your site isn't visited much by them.
Second, install Information Pages SEO and start creating pages for your important keywords.
As for the pages you created, be careful with that. Google knows how to spot pages that are just link pages and they can hurt a site. In case you are not aware of it, there is a model cross-reference file included in Header Tags SEO for that purpose.
There are other considerations than the above but it should help.

A new version has been uploaded with these changes:
Added a check for infobox links since they may exist in a BS shop. Changed code in sitemap.php in admin functions to fix php 7.3 problem. Found by member lucsangel. Created Frozen and Phoenix versions. Dropped maintenance of pre-Frozen versions. Removed a definition from admin's function file.

Yes Jack, they do work for categories and sub categories with the osComm Phoenix stock listing modules, so all ok on that end.

Please keep in mind that you are trying to install an addon into a Phoenix shop that was not written for Phoenix. I think it should still work but until I release a Phoenix version it might be best to not try this one.
As for switching shops, each cart platform has advantages but I think you will be hard-pressed to find one that is as flexible as oscommerce, especially with new addons coming out that are mostly plug n' play. Also, if you are going to pay for an installation, there are people here that you can pay.

Jack_mcs got a reaction from Dnj1964 in Article Manager v1.0
The configuration section in Article Manage was written by the original programmer and I've not changed it. To use it, just click on one of the settings and you will see the edit box.

Did you install the module for the box?
  17. Thanks

Please explain what this means in more detail.

Have you enabled the box in the settings and installed the module?

This version was written before Phoenix was released so there will be things like that that don't apply. The next version will have a Phoenix-specific set of files.

It looks like you didn't run the database script. Please give that a try and let me know if it still fails.

The word states in this context refers to that box on the page. It fills in what would normally be entered there that is specific to the chosen country.

Jack_mcs got a reaction from discxpress in Instant Discount
Instant Discount is meant to grab impulse buyers. When a visitor arrives at your site by clicking on a product link in a search engine listing, a dialog will appear saying that he will get a discount if the item is purchased within a certain amount of time. The discount amount, how long the offer is good for and various other things are controlled by settings in admin.
This addon is written for the CE version. It may work in BS 4 since little is displayed outside of the addon files. It also may work with the official 2.3.4 version. It won't hurt anything in any shop since it can be completely turned off or used in text mode.

Jack_mcs got a reaction from domiosc in which payment module do you use in your shop ?
The fields are there but I don't think the payment modules use them. At least, I know the Paypal and Authorize.net modules don't.

My version, which is not the standard one, has an option to split the cc number. It has been a while since I've looked at the original but I thought that was in all of them. When used, the code splits the cc number and stores part in the database and sends the other part in an email. That way, there is no way for hackers to get the whole number should they get access to your database.  I'll upload it as an addon when I get the time. Maybe it will be useful to someone.

Go to adminSite Monitor->Tools, select the Block Country option, highlight and save the countries you want to block. Then go to admin->Configuration->View counter and enable country blocking. If you are using things from google like google remarketing, be sure to check the option for not blocking search engines.
