Jack_mcs got a reaction from valquiria23 in All Products SEO
A new version has been uploaded with these changes:
Added a Phoenix version. Works with 1.0.7.11, which is the latest version at this time. Added a class for the price list so it displays better on small screens - found by member valquiria23. Added a manufacturers dropdown selector. Changed sub heading database filed to type TEXT to allow for longer descriptions. Changed while to foreach for 7.2 compatibility. Found by artfulweb. Fixed problem on the all products page where selecting from the categories menu didn't work. Moved the css file to ext/css/. Note: This update mainly has to do with Phoenix shops.

Jack_mcs got a reaction from Fredi in Article Manager v1.0
@FrediThis is the support thread for an addon so even if Matt or Gary sees it, they may not respond here. You would need to post in the general forum and hope they will reply.
However, I'm not sure your complaint is justified. I, and any addon developer, understands the frustration of having broken addons due to changes in Phoenix. But this has always been the case with oscommerce. When Harald did away with filename and database defines, it broke all existing addons. And when Frozen was released, many addons had to be rewritten to work with it.
You need to keep in mind that those that support addons do so at their own expense in time. If you wanted to pay a developer to make the needed changes sooner, then I'm sure any would do that. But if you want a free update, then you have to wait until that programmer has time for it. It is the way oscommerce has always worked and hasn't changed much. I agree that having discussions on the code base hidden is the wrong approach and slows its development and popularity but it is what the ones in control have decided to do.

There shouldn't be a reason to do that but since I can't test it, I may be wrong. I will keep this mind when I get around to do that. Thank you for posting it.

Looks good. As long as the map files are created and are correct, you should be all set.

Jack_mcs got a reaction from Psytanium in HoneyPot Captcha
Then all I can think of is that you didn't make the correct changes in the files. Please compare your files with the ones in the ChangedFiles_Frozen_and_V234 directory, or even use one of those for a quick test.
Also, having the "Email Addresses Allowed" and "URL's Allowed" options set to true prevents the code from stopping most spam. I suggest you change to false and then try sending an email from your contact us page with an email address or url in the body. If the email isn't blocked, then there is something wrong in your installation and troubleshooting the contact page will be much easier. If it does work, then it means there is a mistake in the create account file.

The attached is the file from the latest, unreleased, version. It should fix the last two and maybe the first. But I can't cause the first to occur so I can't say for sure.

Same problem as I mentioned in the other thread. I can't follow the problem.

Jack_mcs got a reaction from Fredi in Article Manager v1.0
The difference is that with a blog article, customers can reply to it. So an article might be a page explaining how to use a knife. While a blog article would be about the various knifes you sell and where customer can respond with their views on which is the best one. Getting customers involved is a way of keeping them coming back. I have one client that sells baby clothes and the site has a blog article where customers can post images of their babies.

Jack_mcs got a reaction from secretmatt95 in how to let people upload images
You could add a note to the product page, confirmation page or wherever it makes sense, telling the customer to email the image to you. If you sell things that don't require an image, then you should only show the message for the correct product or word the message to say it is not needed for some items. You can install my Message Box addon that will allow you to add a message to the header. That might be easier than trying to code it. Though you could edit the text for one of the modules to include the message.

Jack_mcs got a reaction from secretmatt95 in how to let people upload images
It requires code changes to convert it. The addon changes a relatively large number of core files so it would not be a quick conversion. I have a version for a later oscommerce version than the one for that addon but even it would require quite a few changes to allow it to work correctly with Phoenix. So while the addon will allow you to do what you want, it will take an experienced oscommerce programmer to properly convert it.

Jack_mcs got a reaction from valquiria23 in Google reCAPTCHA v3
It will stop them from entering names longer than 15 characters. That doesn't stop the form from working but even if it did, their scripts would just be changed to enter a name of 14 characters.
If the names have code in them, Google Recaptcha may stop them but may not, depending on what it is. Install Honey Pot and it will catch all such accounts.

Jack_mcs got a reaction from ce7 in Information Pages SEO addon
Good catch on the database error. I do apologize for the problems it caused. The previous versions used INFORMATION_PAGES_SEO_XREF_USE_UL' but it was changed to INFORMATION_PAGES_SEO_FOOTER_XREF_USE_UL' to allow handling the bod id's easier. And I see now that IO forgot to mention that as part of the update.
Regarding the position of the box, the answer depends on how the recently viewed addon is placing the code. This addon is using a hook for that box. The only way hooks are sortable are by their names so if that addon uses a hook, you could do some renaming to get them placed as you want. But if it is using a module, you can't do it.
