    Sitemap SEO

    I don't know but probably not, at least completely. For any older addon that displays something on a page of the shop, a change is needed to properly work with BS4, though sometimes the page will load fine without it. But this addon would change too many core files so I wouldn't recommend using it until that has been changed. I don't know when that will be.

  4. It seems like every other question posted nowadays is about how to upgrade an older version of oscommerce and the op usually references the official version. This post is meant to provide a quick reference for how to convert an older shop to the current, recommended, one. First, the version that should be used is commonly called the Bootstrap, BS or Responsive version. It can be located here. One should not use the official version. The official version can be installed via the hosts control panel so it is easy to think that is the one to use - it is not. Since the BS version is not directly compatible with other versions, the following steps will be needed: Install the BS version into a new location Convert the database. See this thread for help with that. Install whatever addons the site needs. You need to be sure the addon will work with the BS version. This thread mentions specific ones but there are many others that will work. If in doubt, ask in the support thread for the addon in question. If you intend to use paypal, then install the Paypal App. At this point you should have a working shop. Test it thoroughly, especially the payment and shipping modules, before going live with it. When you are ready to go live, Mark your current shop as down for maintenance ( a simple index.html file is fine for this purpose ). Make a backup of the current shops database and files. Convert the database to the BS version. Replace all of the files with the new shops files. Edit the configure files so they work as the live shop. Remove the blocking page. If everything has gone correctly, the conversion should be complete.

    Category Problem for update.

    @alexiscruz007You can ask your host to enable short tags in php. As @bonbec mentioned, it is not the best practice but it is a quick way around the problem if you don't know how to edit the code.

    @bitit.itThe code checks if the product in the review has an active status and if the review has an active status. Assuming your products are all enabled and active, the problem might be that your reviews don't have a reviews_status field. Older versions of oscommerce didn't have that field so you may need to add it to the table.

    There are many versions of oscommerce and they are not all coded the same way. When it isn't known what version is being used, I, and others, can only guess at what the problem might be. In Phoenix, there is a Reviews module in the Modules->Navbar modules section, Do you have that enabled?

    It's difficult for anyone to help since your question doesn't include any details. First, you should always state the version of oscommerce you are using (see my signature on how to do that). Then, how did the reviews get in the database? I can only assume you have replaced the original shop and the new one isn't showing them but that would just be guessing.

    OSC and .htaccess

    It's because the path to the .htpasswd file is different between the two servers. The easy fix is to rest the password for the popup login in your control panel. But you could also edit the admin/.htaccess file and change the path to the correct one for the new server.

    HoneyPot Captcha

    This addon prevents multiple emails from being sent through the forms on the site by adding a hidden challenge. Sending emails through the forms is a favorite thing to do by spammers. This has traditionally been handled by Googles Recaptcha code but that causes too much of a challenge in many cases and can easily frustrate your customers. This code doesn't present a challenge for the customer at all. The checking is done without the customer even knowing it. The code will work in any version of oscommerce but the instructions are just for the Community Edition and just for the contact us page (due to time constraints).

    HoneyPot Captcha

    If you can't save the words, then something is wrong with your installation. The bad words is just another setting so there's no reason why one setting won't save but others will. But since you said this has not made a difference, I am wondering if you have the email and url options set to false. If they are set to true then spam emails won't be blocked. Have you tried sending an email with the contact us page that has an email address in it?

    HoneyPot Captcha

    Maybe I misunderstood. I understood your post to be about the mention of the grid/list line. I don't see any mention about saving bad words. The "have forums on them" should have been "have forms on them". This addon only works on pages that have forms, like contact us and create account. As for the bad words, they are entered in the modules settings.
  13. This addon adds a quantity box to the product page. It is only compatible with the latest Community Version that uses Action files for handling the buy now button.

    HoneyPot Captcha

    That's just the result of using an existing module as the source to saving coding time. The text itself can be ignored but you need to check the pages that have forums on them.

    Product Quantity Box

    They should be aligned already since they are in the same div. Do you still have the default buy module installed?

    Sitemap SEO

    There was meant to be a file in admin/includes/languages/English/modules/boxes/ named sitemap_seo.php with those lines. Having the file there prevents the need to change an existing file. The way you added it will work too.

    HoneyPot Captcha

    Yes, it is possible. I have done that in the pro version of View Counter. I may make the change in this one but it is not a quick change so I don't know when, or if, that will be due to time constraints. Usually, in my experience, these people creating fake accounts have more than one IP address so blocking one may be a waste of time. You can generally tell if that is the case by checking the WhoIs for the IP. When you do that, you will see an IP Range and/or CIDR listed. Those are short-hand methods for all IP's associated to that one IP. Using one of those to block maybe help. However, you have to be careful since the IP range may include legitimate IP's so you may end up blocking potential customers. You have compare where the IP is from and whether you would hurt the shop by blocking people from that location.

    Easier Attributes

    In admin/includes/template_top.php, find this line <base href="<?php echo ($request_type == 'SSL') ? HTTPS_SERVER . DIR_WS_HTTPS_ADMIN : HTTP_SERVER . DIR_WS_ADMIN; ?>" /> and change it to <?php /****Begin Easier Attributes ****/ if ($PHP_SELF !== 'easier_attributes.php') { ?> <base href="<?php echo ($request_type == 'SSL') ? HTTPS_SERVER . DIR_WS_HTTPS_ADMIN : HTTP_SERVER . DIR_WS_ADMIN; ?>" /> <?php } /****End Easier Attributes ****/ ?> Please note that I can only guess at what to change since you didn't mention your version of oscommerce. Please be sure to always mention that in any post on these forums..

    Easier Attributes

    This addon is meant as a replacement for the Product Attributes section in admin, for any version of oscommerce. The main advantages of it are: Ability to add/edit/delete attributes quickly (very quickly). A multi-select list that allows adding attributes to many products at once. Ability to search attributes. For those of you with a large number of attributes, you will probably be amazed at how quickly this responds when compared to the existing attributes code. Please note that all of the sections are not completed. The basic attributes and search code is complete, I think, and the Options code is close to complete, if not complete. But the Values and Settings sections still need to be worked on. The old attributes section, or any addon for attributes that is installed, will still function so these unfinished parts won't cause any problems. I wanted to get it uploaded as it is now to start getting feedback on it to better know what to work on. So if anyone tries it, please let me know of any problems, suggestions or questions.

    That file is no longer used so the boxes section won't work as in previous shops. That will be fixed in a future version, though I don't know when that will be. For this one, change this line $file = DIR_FS_CATALOG . $end . 'includes/filenames.php'; to return '';

    Visiting Site Prompts Download?

    That is usually a cache issue. Try turning off cache in the shop and delete all cache files, especially if SEO 5 is used and files are stored on the server. It can also be related to the php version if your shop can't handle the selected version.

    Jssor Slider

    This addon will display banners in the header or the home page, depending upon which module is installed. The banners rotate using selected methods in the module. There are 29 transitions included but those can easily be changed , added to or deleted as desired. No file changes are needed. This addon is based on the code supplied by dinopacha.
  23. @kalibug Besides the two changes mentioned, you need to change all of the instances of http: to https. The first one in the admin is a security hole.
  24. A common cause of that is an incorrectly setup configure file. If it was working before, did you make any recent changes? If it never worked, then post your includes/configure.php file here, without the database credentials near the bottom, and someone will take a look at it.

    Fake accounts

    This sounds like a good idea so I wrote the code to have Honey Pot check those IP's. See the Honey Pot thread for instructions.
