  1. Right now I'm steering blind as I don't know what the tax will be until I recieve an invoice from my supplier, remember I said I had to raise my prices to cover the hidden taxes, so far it has worked for me, Tax Cloud is something I will look into further, I think it will work for tax collections and get me out of the dark.
  2. Thanks Dave Your right many more zones exist, I want to look into this further, I would want to know how to implement Tax Cloud into an oscommerce site. Lets keep in touch and I'm sure we can use your services.
  3. Yes, I have read about TaxCloud and how it works, watched the demo, I was wondering if anyone had used it in their oscommerce sites, I'm not sure Tax Cloud would work for me because I want my supplier to collet and pay the sales tax, I'm willing to charge the tax on my site and pay it by invoice to my supplier, but I can't find a way to do that just yet.
  4. Thanks for the reply. Mr. Phil When I said "My Supplier" Yes it does make me legally bound to collect sales tax in those 36 states, because my supplier has a presence in that many states, they are charging me sales tax for the shipping address of my orders, for instance, my office is in Tennessee, last month I received an order from NC, I forwarded the order with my main supplier in Baton Rouge La, the ordered item was out of stock, Baton Rouge ordered the item from their Dallas warehouse, The order was shipped from Dallas to North Carolina, I was charged North Carolina sales tax. I did not charge sales tax and lost $72.00. BTW: the supplier has a nexus in NC also; therefore he has to charge sales tax for that state. I want to be able to charge the tax in my oscommerce tax module; As of late, I had to raise my product prices 10% to cover the sales tax therefore making my products much higher than my competition. I know each state has different laws regarding sales tax, no one has read more about this subject so I am well versed on this tax. I need to be able to charge my customers the right sales tax for their shipping address (not billing), and then pay that tax to my supplier when I’m billed. I don’t want to have to pay the tax to each state, let the supplier do that, it makes it much simpler. We will some day pay sales tax to all states as soon as the states can come up with a program where each will get their rightful share. I understand the brick and mortar shops having to pay sales tax and now most Internet sites don’t but that is going to change.
  5. We all know that one day the Feds will enact the “Main Street Fairness Act.” or something similar. Currently there has not been any action on this legislation by Congress. Until they act, more and more states are going to be attempting on their own to collect these internet taxes. Question. My supplier has a "nexus" in 36 states, how do I inset that many tax zones into my oscommerce shop configuration? Has anyone heard of or used a service (called TaxCloud)as I understand, it enables merchants to accurately calculate local sales tax. The service is completely free to merchants.
  6. Hello. How can I correct this error? "Use this page to run a test on your installation of Header Tags SEO "Testing the Installation" I get the dreaded Missing Database Error below. Where can I correct this and how? Thanks Walt Test Results Missing Database Error: The Header Tags entry is missing from the configuration group table.
  7. I couldnt get it to work, maybe I'll have to try Purchase without account contrib.
  8. Thanks, here goes. :o
  9. Hi Germ, I’ve been searching for an answer to the same problem, I had a complaint from a customer yesterday, he said he could login and buy but was returned to my main page and not shipping/checkout page. I lost him because he said it was most complicated and to many steps to checkout. I’ve had this problem for about a week, I'm not sure I can make the changes you suggested, being a newbie to all the code changes and knowing that I’ve screwed up the codes before, is there an easier way to make the changes. I posted my problem in General Support yesterday, 29 people read it but no advice or help. Thanks
  10. Sorry for all the trouble, Im completly lost now and don't know what to try next. I had to remove the changes in column left, column right and catalog/includes/boxes/information because it made my boxes too wide and gave me other errors. on my home page as seen below. I'm working with a live shop so I can't leave the errors on site. Walt Warning: main(includes/boxes/links.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/local/www/virtual1/66/175/33/157/html/catalog/includes/column_right.php on line 42 Warning: main() [function.include]: Failed opening 'includes/boxes/links.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/local/share/pear') in /usr/local/www/virtual1/66/175/33/157/html/catalog/includes/column_right.php on line 42
  11. Hi Jack. Yes I have located those files in the contribution pagkage, I have uploaded them again and reinstalled the changes in the readme instructions. The errors below are when I go to my site and click on the word Link in the left column. Any ideas? Thanks for all you help Walt Warning: main(includes/functions/links.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/local/www/virtual1/66/175/33/157/html/catalog/links.php on line 15 Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'includes/functions/links.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/share/pear') in /usr/local/www/virtual1/66/175/33/157/html/catalog/links.php on line 15 Here are the Linksphp file from my site lines 12 through 16 //// // Construct a path to the link // TABLES: links_to_link_categories function tep_get_link_path($links_id) { $lPath = '';

  13. Thanks Jack, After reading thousands of your posts while searching for answers I wonder when you have time to reply to all the questions. I will uninstall the contrib tonight and try again, another problem is that I don't know where to find the following /catalog/includes/languages/english/links_submit.php. I've been on every line and still cannot locate the links_submit.php section. any ideas what wrong? Thanks again in advance. Wallyr41
  14. I downloaded the Links Manager II V 1.17 Jack_mcs 8 Jul 2007 When I changed the code in column right or colums left boxes as per instructions in the readme, it distorted the info box, what I mean by this is, instead of the box being 2 inches wide they became four inches wide, I change the code twice and got the same results. after removing the code, the boxes returned to the right size, I probably made the same mistake twice. I'll try again today, I have read everything that I can find about Link Manager II, knowing it is a easy install as some will say but when your not a PHP geru, one has problems. When I go to my home page and click on Link, I get "This Page cannot be found", but when I type in www.mysite.links.html, I get my link page. Thanks for your help or any more you may offer. I installed the link manager using FTP as that was a newbie question, sorry. Wallyr41 the code from the readme is as follows 8: In catalog/includes/column_right.php (or column_left.php per your preference) ADD anywhere before the last ?>: include(DIR_WS_BOXES . 'links.php'); 11: In catalog/admin/includes/column_left.php ADD anywhere before the last ?>: // Links Manager II v1.16 begin require(DIR_WS_BOXES . 'links.php'); // Links Manager II v1.16 end
