Fredi reacted to JcMagpie in Support thread for JcM Header Stock Banner V1.0 Phoenix
Ok thank's good to know, It's just that as I have only tested on 1.2 so that's all i can advise.
I'm sure I have done header banners add-ons that do not use the osC stock banner code. So you could just use one of them check in the apps store.
This is one running on this 2.4 test site. It just pulls the images direct from a folder. Just requires you to manualy manage when the show.
Header Banner using image folder
So you still have options.

No I have no plans to do anything further with this. I have no idea what Phoenix's plans are, if it goes then you will either have to stick with current version or find another solution. I have frozen my add-ons at 1.0.1.2 and have no plans to do any further updates. Just too many changes to keep up with. Sorry.
Just because phoenix is removing it does not mean you have to, you could just keep using it. The changes you make are up to you.
Also I'm sure there will probably be a replacment add-on of some sort.

Small update to stop the message from being annoying! added session control so it only shows once each session. Only the AdText hook file needs to be updated.

For anyone else who feels the need to check for ad-blockers this is a simple implamentation of this detection script for Phoenix.
https://github.com/InteractiveAdvertisingBureau/AdBlockDetection
It's implamented using 2 sitewide hooks so no core changes. It will give you something to play with and refine for your site. It detects if ad-blocker is active in the customers browser and displays a message in a modal window which the customer can dismiss.
It's not in the apps market and I do not plan to support it beyond what is posted here. You are free to edit the hooks code as you like.

Fredi reacted to raiwa in Ultimate Seo Urls 5 Pro
@peterpil19,
I tested my updated version from the 2018 EDGE shop on Phoenix 1.0.2.5.
It works error free (error reporting set to ALL)
The last uploaded package R2.09 (october 2018): throws errors.
I believe my version is based on Release 2.08
Some update for the href lang tags of the latest version have been added, all seems to work correct. But I didn't do a very exhausted testing.
Here the package including the modified files for Phoenix 1.0.2.5:
Ultimate_SEO_URLs_5_Phoenix_beta.zip
Here the link to the GitHub repository of the complete shop:
https://github.com/raiwa/Responsive-osCommerce/tree/Ultimate-Seo-URLs-5
The instructions are not updated, just upload the "drop on top" and "compare_files" modified files.
If you have a test shop and would like to give it a try and others too. The href lang tags need a multilanguage store with at least 2 languages.
I'll try to contact the author to see if he would like to upload this as an update. I really have no time to give support for this.

Fredi got a reaction from Solomono in Support thread for Bootstrap V4 Oscommerce Administration v2.3.4.1 CE
Our community is probably the first on the Internet, which in the open format has begun to support the development of this software in free access with open source. From the very beginning, a real concept of e-commerce on the Internet was developed and created, and many people united around it. For many, this was the only real way to start selling on the Internet.
I am very grateful to Harald and his comrades who wrote the source code and gave it to the community.
The development of e-commerce is largely due to this software. Most of the modern and popular online stores today were written on the basis of OsCommerce and became commercial projects.
But our forum lives. And the community works. Version 2.3.4.1 was created. Frozen, but in spite of the frost, it really develops!
I want to invite the community to discuss the future of the software and jointly develop a concept for its future development.
I invite to discuss the founding father - Harald. Let's discuss and decide how we can further develop our project, which for many of us has become a part of life and family!
I see those people who do business, spend their time and effort, correct the code, write new features and actively support the community.
My thanks to all.

The administrator has not changed since almost his birth. The community needs to decide which format of the Site Administrator should be taken as a modern basic framework - as the official version of the osCommerce BS, HTML5, PHP-7, supported by the community.
There is another good version of the administration panel available developed by SoloMono. We all have to make a decision together. And based on this, adapt existing modules to the generally accepted format. No need to spray power on many different versions. Let's choose one and develop it together.
We need to combine our strength, knowledge and experience. We need to remember how we started this almost 20 years ago. This will be the reanimation of osCommerce and our common success.

check your code in a clean code editor like notepad++ , If you are cutting and pasting code from the forum then you can have probems as the code from the form can copy badly.
This is what I see from your pasted code in php sand box. As you can see extra bits have been added. These will give syntex error. With these removes no syntex error given.

A new version has been uploaded with these changes:
Compatible with php 7.2. Compatible with BS4. (see note below) Header Tags SEO no longer required. (see note below) Added code to automatically add the title and tags for an article to Page Control in Header Tags SEO (if HTS is installed). Added the date posted on the blog comments page. Added a link to the customers account on the blog comments page, if it exists. Added multi-select option to the Cross Sell page in admin. Added a module to display articles on the home page. Added a module to display articles on the product page. Added the article ID to the article listing page in admin. Added reply to blog in admin. Added IP tracking for blog articles. Added option to require approval for blog posts. Changed the articles infobox to use ssl, if set, to fix a non-secure warning. Changed the articles infobox to only display the articles section if articles exist for those sections. Changed the format of the article listing pages on the shop side. Changed the default setting for an article to non-blog. Changed all of the article listing to use the sort order setting. Fixed code to handle the filter database definition correctly. Reported by member @vmn. Fixed code for the listing description text to prevent problems when html is used. Reported by member @vmn. Fixed Cross Sell code to the blog page. Fixed Cross Sell code to display the images. Fixed article listing page to only show blog or non-blog articles. Fixed code in the articles box to correctly show upcoming articles. Fixed the layout problem in authors section of admin. Fixed coding mistakes on the topics page that caused incorrect links. Fixed coding mistakes on the articles page that caused incorrect links. Fixed coding mistakes in the articles infobox for upcoming article that caused incorrect links. Made many changes on the blog comment page in admin fixes and improvements. Replaced date code with jquery's datepicker. Reported by member @vmn. Replaced all uses of NONSSL with $request_type. Replaced the topics code in the articles infobox with standard oscommerce code. Removed preview from articles creation page. Removed preview code in admin blog comments. Removed unnecessary database code from the articles box. Removed extra files in the new directory for the CE version. Removed redundant functions used by the articles infobox. Removed all filename and table definitions so it now works in CE shops. Rewrote the new articles page to remove html codes. Rewrote the upcoming module to remove html codes. Notes:
1 - The changes in this update are only for the CE versions. The code for the CE version will probably work in 2.3.4 shops, though I haven't tested it, but not any version before that. There were far too many changes in this version to get them to work with the older versions. It can be done but will take a bit of time.
2 - I included the code for BS4 versions. This was not thoroughly tested but I don't think there are any problems in that version.
3 - The requirement to have Header Tags SEO installed has been removed. This was not thoroughly tested but I don't think there are any problems caused by it. You have to turn the option for Header Tags SEO off in the settings. Please note that if you don't have Header Tags SEO installed, you will not be able to set the title and meta tags from admin. You will need to figure out how to do that manually. Also, the Ultimate SEO url rewriter won't change the url's as expected.
My sincere thanks to @FrediHis help in troubleshooting this saved weeks on the release date. It was invaluable since he pointed out things I probably would not have seen.

Fredi got a reaction from valquiria23 in Support thread for Bootstrap V4 Oscommerce Administration v2.3.4.1 CE
Dear Sirs.
We are all associated with this software for almost 20 years. We learned from this. We used it for our stores. Many coders have made a career here and their business. A lot of e-commerce software was born on the basis of osCommerce.
All this happened thanks to OpenSource. Thanks to the enthusiasm and great work of Harald and his friends. Many of the active members of the forum and community continue to work for everyone. However, a lot of people used this resource only for personal profit. They did something (they wrote code based on osCommerce), tested their work with our help, called it their project, and ran away from the community to engage in personal business. The attitude of these people to osCommerce is similar to the fact that you forgot about your parents.
Will we all do the same?
I see that several of our excellent coders are already preparing for this.
What do we do? Will we save the osCommerce or assign it to the cemetery?
Regarding the AdminBS version, which we are discussing here. There is great interest among many participants. New version is needed. Let's remember our youth, join forces and continue to work in our OpenSource community!
The new version can be placed on Github and add corrections and additions there.
Your opinion, community?

I think it would be great to make a package (called frozen 2 or as you like) that has the new admin of @shetch and the Frozen version with its bug fixes so that new users can download them in one place.
What the community lacks are periodic updates to show that the software is alive.
I do not know if this is the best place to post it, but the work of @shetchis fantastic, it's the cooler in oscommerce for a long time and it would be great to integrate it into the Frozen package.
What do you think?
Best regards.
Valqui

Need to take a look at product copy as it's not working for me. Selecting copy provides no controls to make copy,

Fixed for now by replacing line 907 with original line. Layout need looking at. Radio buttons again over lapping text.

As I read the description, the add-on that @@frankl suggested does what you want *IF* you use the Article Manager add-on. If you have your >100 articles any other way, they *may* not be searchable using that.
On the other hand, have you read this?

We had a long discussion on how to search for articles, reports, papers, categories, etc.
