    when I open my interface, it says there is an error, and the usual list of modifications to orders, and new customers just joined is no more! I haven't changed anything, and it was okay this morning. Have I been hacked? I'm on this Plesk obsidian server and I don't have a clue what I'm doing anymore. Yes I do need a new website, but just been too busy and keep putting it off. Any ideas? thank you

    Moving to another platform

    I have been needing to re-vamp my website for about a decade now, but I've decided its really too much for me, so I'm contemplating either shopify or shopwired. The later is my preference as its in the UK, so I can call them! Does anyone have any experience of getting the csv files so they can move sites? I have their template for my product base, and I am tempted to just make customers re-register from the start. So think maybe just the product database will do, however, I'm not sure how to download it, as it keeps calling the file EP0000.csv.download so I am unable to open it in excel to compare it with their template. (template attached) I feel like I'm falling at the first hurdle! product_import_template.csv

    Totally get that. I moved it without too much ado. I'm not too bad at the coding, and you guys have helped me so much over the years, but I have had endless problems with servers and emails not sending, and never been able to sort those things. Just not enough hours in the day! I still have my b/fs shop oscommerce, so I will keep my hand in - though his isn't so important! lol

    Its not just the oscommerce. Its all the peripheral stuff. My website went off-line today, because error logs got to big they consumed all the memory and that was that. I didn't know whey it had happened and the host deleted the logs, so all is well - until next time. it just seems endless checking, and messing, and I'm doing nothing but work. The shop and hosting are all one, so if my website stopped working, I'd hope that firing off an email to someone would suffice - which I could do from anywhere without needing to sit at the computer for hours.

    Hi, thank you. Apart from not having to do the programming right now, it also means if someone takes over, they won't either, and I eventually may want to retire!!! I've managed to export a csv file. Not sure yet if its sufficient, but it contains the image file name, so I also need to download all my images. I have previously used FileZilla ftp to move things on and off, but now I'm on this Plesk Obsidian control panel and I'm lost. I can see my image folder in file manager, and my images, but I don't see an easy way to get them from Plesk to my Mac, so I can re-upload them to the 'shop'. Why can't it just be click and drag?!!!

    Oscommerce has served me well for a long time, and I'm very grateful, but I don't feel able to do any programming or maintenance anymore. I just want to concentrate on my business and a ready made shop, with a monthly fee, and SSl, payment processors already set up, is ideal for me now.

    Thank you. You were exactly right. apparently I'm using all my storage! And yes, they did have to sort it out, as I couldn't even get on the control panel to do anything. Not at all ideal

    Displaying orders (list)

    On the interface, it shows the orders and status as a list. It only shows 12 per page (Displaying 1 to 12 (of 16958 orders) Can someone tell me which file to edit so I can show 30 or 40 per page. It would make it easier for me to be able to see all processing orders on one page instead of having 3 or 4 pages to look through. Thank you

    Thank you so much. Honestly thats been annoying me for years and that was so simple to fix! lol I'm on an older version, but the MAX_DISPLAY_SEARCH_RESULTS which affects catalog and admin. That's under admin > Configuration > Maximum Values 'search results' is still in there. That will make Monday morning so much easier! Have a nice evening.

    Customer Basket

    Hi, I have problems with my customers being unable to remove items from the basket, as it logs them off. No-one seems to know why this is happening or how to fix it, so I thought I'd try an add-on to edit the baskets at my side. I have a stupid 'theme' (Dresscode) installed which is a botch, so I suspect thats why this add-on isbn't working. I do not have a folder called catalog, my shop is directly in the public_html. pics uploaded below are the name of the add on, the error message I get when I try to look at the baskets (I've installed it correctly, I believe), and the part of the code in the header file, it seems to have an issue with. Any advice? thanks

    I didn't find a way to delete more than 500 items at the same time, but I've gone through and cleared all the baskets. Thank you so much. It will at least buy me a little time being able to do this. Have a nice day.

    That sounds promising! Is there a way in php_admin to clear ALL baskets in one go. I have stock control issues where (somehow) people manage to buy stuff I no-longer have, presumably as its already in the basket.

    Hi, Totally agree. I purchased new hosting and linked to another domain a few days ago. I'm just waiting on the host changing my hosting to 'Plesk', so I didn't want to start anything until its all done. I'm going to use the Phoenix and mess about with it for a while, with some help! I'm just trying to get a temporary fix. Currently, I'm deleting peoples accounts as its the only way to empty the basket! Some customers have been with me for a decade and made hundreds of orders, so I'd rather not do that for everyone!

    Okay, thank you. I have seen the hooks folder. I have managed to find a copy of the sloppy cleaner from before 2015 (my website was created in April 2015), and so I am going to have a go at removing the install. then I will may try the new install. I'm just more concerned bout ridding my customer of 'errors' as I think its affecting sales.

    I just didn't think I had the right version as it says install from admin/modules /store, but I don't have a'store' section, or will a full install create one? Do I have to unintall the old version first? Sorry! I'm so rusty, I haven't done any add ons for ages.

    I'm a bit confused. Should I just be making the manual changes? I notice the latest install works from the admin/modules, but my website is too old to work that way. If I just make the manual changes will that be okay (think I can about manage to follow that!)

    Hi, I'm running a really old version of oscommerce, I believe it to be : v2.3.4 bootstrap and recently customers have complained about a lot of errors being thrown up when they try to create an account. Is there an easy fix? thanks
  20. I think I'm going to cope with this for a while! I had such a nightmare last time I edited my checkout_process.php. I broke everything and took far too much of everyones time here helping me fix it, that I don't think I dare touch it ever again! It may be that I already resolved it, and that because I have so much stock and stocktaking is impossible, that the occasional shortages are just from the weeks before I noticed the problem and potentially fixed it. As for the baskets not emptying, it may be customer error, back key pressing/impatience etc, and every now and then someone will Manage to pay once but create 3 duplicate orders! (this only happens on Paypal) Thank you,
  21. My apologies, as I know I have asked this question before, but it seems I still have the problem, and I cannot find the thread from previous discussion. Sometimes - and it appears not every time, when a customer check out and successfully creates an order 1 - the basket does not empty 2 the stock does not decrease The basket not emptying isn't really a problem to me, except that by not emptying it appears it is not decreasing the stock - which is a BIG deal, as I have thousands of items and need my stock control to work. The last order that I notice this has happened to, this is the 'comment' I get from Worldpay. Anybody any idea what is wrong? thanks,

    Hi, Basket is still not emptying. I am wondering if my Worldpay module is perhaps out of date. Can you provide a link to the most current one, so I can compare the files, and take a look at my settings to see if they are correct or erroneous. Thank you

    Hi, I'm still having issues with this world pay module. When a customer orders it logs an order at my side, which I see, and process, and update as normal. (the cancel thing is still an issue but I simply check to make sure they paid - bit of a pain, but not the end of the world). What I have recently discovered is that it isn't logging an order for the customer. so The basket does not empty, the stock does not reduce, and the customer order history shows as NO order made - even though I see an order logged at my side. Any solutions? thank you Kellie
