A search of this site doesn't reveal any pertinent answers, so I'll ask you guys.
We are distributing several product lines, and each product line has its own osc-based website, i.e. www.productlineA.com, and www.productlineB.com, and www.productlineC.com. In turn, all of these domains reside under a master domain - so all the domains resolve to www.masterSITE.com. Thus, when a customer is shopping he sees www.productlineA.com but in reality the particular website is actually www.mastersite.com/productlineA . . . are we clear?
Anyway, most business is via phone or mail and we've been doing manual entry of the CC numbers, but as internet based orders pick up, things are getting busier (no complaint mind you). Hence, we're interested in adding to or moving from our established brick-and-mortar merchant service to an internet merchant account service (like authorize.net) to ease our workload. Here's my question (finally).
Does anybody know if each website requires its own merchant account, or if we'll require just one?
