  1. That was it! I have tested and changing that cURL location seems to work (fingers crossed). Maybe this should be added in the UPS XML Rates Instructions or as an add-on? I will be happy to do that, is it okay to add some text directions and add to the UPS XML contrib page? Is that bad form?
  2. Thanks for the link JanZ, I'm having the same error (again). I have applied the fix and thought I had it solved, but went to place an order and received the error again. I will try changing the IP-address in upsxml.php; but can someone tell me where the user found this information? I'll post back with the results...
  3. Hi all, I'm considering adding one of these contributions for handling articles on my site. The reason I think having articles will be beneficial is to offer my visitors helpful advice on a variety of my products, but I'm guessing that having articles will also help with relevant content for search engines. Can anyone here offer any first hand experience with any of these contribs or post a link to a site that uses them? I'd really like to see them in action before installing. From reading about all three, I'm leaning toward NewsDesk. Any advice would be greatly appreciated:)

  5. Thanks surfalot, I solved the problem, and it appears it was my own ignorance;) I was seeing the images on the server through my FTP however, I did not refresh the list after I deleted all the categories and products! The images were deleted...duh! So, I just uploaded the images folder (that I had backed up, whew!), and all the images are now showing! Sorry for the confusion, and thanks again for providing this GREAT contrib and the support!
  6. Hello all, I hope someone here can help with an images problem after uploading via EP. I have been playing with EP for awhile now with my test store. I have an "almost live" store that had several hundred products with images, but after finding out about EP I discovered that none of the products contained model numbers. We have created a tab delimited file for EP with all the correct fields and info inclucing the image paths. I have this store set up in the root of my server and all the images all reside in the root/images folder. I had deleted the previous categories and products through the store Admin (because with they didn't contain model numbers) and uploaded the new EP tab delimited text file. It added the correct categories and all the products as expected. However, only some of the images are showing. I have checked the path on the images that are not showing and they are pointed to http://mystore.com/images/imagename.jpg. In my mind this is correct, but they do not show. I then went to Admin and checked one of the products that the images are not showing and went to edit where you can browse for an image. The correct image name is already in there. I am stumped. Can anyone offer any assistance or advice on what may be causing this? I do not have any image contribs installed except for lightbox which I believe should not be an issue. Any help with this is greatly appreciated:)
  7. Any advice with these directions? (I posted again just to make sure this is seen, it moved down th eline pretty fast). I hope someone can offer some advice. Thanks:)
  8. I hope someone can help because this contrib is EXACTLY what I need, but I'm afraid the install directions are a bit confusing to me. I am running OSC 2.2 and have made some modifications. In the install text it states... Am I to understand that running this SQL query; or any SQL query is unneccessary since I'm installing v5.1a of Orderlist? Also, the install text states the path for placing and editing files as "includes/etc, etc...." I think the install means to say "admin/includes/etc...etc...". Can someone verify that this is correct? I tried both paths and Orderlist only shows in the Admin area when I install and edit everything by following the "admin/includes" path. So, I've installed using the admin path and have NOT run the SQL query, and when I click on "Generate Orderlist" under Admin-->Customers-->, a new page pops up with an error... Can someone please tell me what may be going wrong? Am I simply supposed to run the SQL query? Thanks for any assistance you can provide:)
  9. @ Michael and Flying Monkey Thanks for the clarification, I really appreciate it. This is a great contrib, and I'd just like to give a personal thanks to Flying Monkey for supplying this! :) Adam
  10. Any word on installing this with Easy Populate? I'm very interested in this! Thanks, Adam
  11. Thanks surfalot, I will keep that in mind about the SQL statement and only run it if I run into upload problems. I have done a bit more testing and have been able to restore from a database backup successfully. During my testing, I was trying to add the model numbers to these existing products, then uploading via EP. This dupilcates all of the products and sets the new one as "Inactive". It also seems to create what seems to be random categories from my existing subcategories. Weird. So, in order to get model numbers on these products, I can either go into Admin and add a model number to each one..... Or, I will backup my database, then assign model numbers to these existing products on the Excel file, then I will delete the categories and products through the Admin, then upload the new EP file to populate and add new products instead of duplicating. I will post back with the final results.
  12. I'm so embarrassed, please ignore the posts about the categories not showing. It appears that the store owner has created 10 categories with subcategories, but ONLY 2 of those categories actually contain products. All 900+ products are under only 2 categories. That's why they weren't showing when the EP file was downloaded and opened. I'm really sorry for all the posts concerning this, they did help me walk through and find out what was going on. Hopefully this will help others. I'm still experiementing with the "easypopulate.php" wanting to download on "complete then download" issue.
  13. ...still more info... I have created a new category, put new product in, and also created new subcategory under this. Ran EP, opened file, and the category and subcategory names are exactly where they should be. Hmmmmm....I'll post back if I get further info.....
  14. After further testing with different download settings, and easypopulate.php settings changes. It appears that all of the products are listed, but the information from 2 out of the 10 categories and subcategories is filling the fields for ALL products, even if the products are in different categories. For example, as stated above, I have over 900 products. When I am able to successfully download an EP file, the Category and Subcategory fields are being filled with the category names of only 2 of the 10 actual categories I have products in. Am I explaining this so it makes sense? Can someone please offer any advice on why this may be happening? I still have not run the SQL statement suggested in the instructions because I don't know what effect (if any) this would have on this issue. Adam
  15. Some additional information to the above post... As stated above, I was able to download the EP file using two of three of the download options. After going through the file while opened in Excel, I noticed that only 2 of the 10 catergories and only a couple of the many sub-categories have downloaded into the file. I checked my database in phpMyAdmin and can confirm that the missing categories and sub-categories are in the database still. Maybe this is related to the possible server time-out issue??? I will wait to see what advice can be offered regarding this post and the above, and will keep investigating/learning;) Adam
  16. Hi everyone, I installed EP on my test store, and although I had a few glitches, with some help here, I was successful. Well, today is the day that I am installing on an exisiting store with over 900 products already added by hand. These products did not include a model number or name. I have included a model number on some test products in order to avoid trouble with EP, and as suggested in the manual, I plan to add product numbers to all the empty ones before uploading an updated file. I'm looking for some advice and help on something before I edit and try to upload the changed text file. If someone here can help, that would be most appreciated. Here's what I've done... The install went fine. When I run EP from the Admin area with the settings as "Create then Download" and "Complete", runs for about a minute, then prompts me to download the easypopulate.php file. I had run into this before, but I've searched previous posts and the forums and cannot find a definitive answer. I am assuming that this has to do with the server timing out. I hae read about running the extra SQL command for large databases, but haven't done this yet. Then I tried the download settings as "Download on the Fly" and "Create in Temp Dir" using "Complete" and these methods both worked. I opened the file in Excel and it seems that all 900+ products are listed correctly, although most do not contain the model name/number as described earlier. My questions are... 1. Does the "download easypolulate.php" issue exist because of the server timeout, and will this be fixed by using the existing SQL statement method in the instructions? 2. I have used the "Backup Database" function in the Admin area so when I do upload an edited EP file I will be able to restore my database back to original in case I get something wrong and lose products. Am I correct in thinking that this will be a fail-safe method in case the worst happens? I am realy nervous about this because we've been working on setting up this store for over two months, but I had just recently realized the benefit of the Easy Populate contribution, so I just want to be double sure that I (and the store owners) won't be shedding tears soon;) Any advice and answers are greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read this:) Easy Populate 2.76d-MS2 - Default Language : English(1) Adam
  17. Thanks Norman, I'm a strong believer in posting our solutions and not just asking questions all the time;)
  18. Can someone here clarify something for me please? As stated in the above post, I have everything working. I also added the Admin additions. When adding the additions, the code references some .php files for different company feeds, example below.... //Feeder Systems define('FILENAME_FEEDERS', 'feeders.php'); define('FILENAME_AMAZON', 'amazon.php'); define('FILENAME_BIZRATE', 'bizrate.php'); define('FILENAME_GOOGLE', 'googlefeeder.php'); define('FILENAME_MYSIMON', 'mysimon.php'); define('FILENAME_PRICE_GRABBER', 'pricegrabber.php'); define('FILENAME_SHOPPING', 'shopping.php'); define('FILENAME_YAHOO','yahoo.php'); When I log into Admin and go to the "Feeder Systems" area, I see the following listed... BizRate: Biz Rate Froogle: Google Base / Froogle Yahoo: Yahoo The Froogle link runs and creates the .txt file I've specified in googlefeeder.php. The other two fail to open, which makes sense. My main question is this... Am I supossed to create these additional .php files? .... for Biz Rate, Yahoo, MySimon, etc...? They were not included in the "Feeds" folder in the contribution download. Have I missed them? Can someone please clarify this for me? Thanks a ton if you can help...sorry if this should be obvious, it's just not clicking with me today. Adam
  19. Thanks Dan, It appears that I had a different issue, and a stupid one at that. I had downloaded this contribution and also the extra "googlefeeder_copychanges.zip" with the additional Google Base attribute requirements listed in the new file. In this zip file is a googlefeeder.php file....the instructions before downloading this additional contrib specifically state "Do Not Overwrite the Existing googlefeeder.php file. Look for the additional stuff and change as necessary...etc..etc..." Well, I must've missed that line, because I did overwrite the file and that was the casue of all my problems! A rookie mistake, I apologize;) I started from scratch, and everything appears to test ok now, although I have yet to submit to Google Base (waiting for Multi-Client account change). Thanks for the help, other readers please learn from my mistake. Adam
  20. Can anyone give me some guidance? I sure would appreciate it:) Adam
