  1. Hi, I just did a fresh install of oscommerce. I tried to install easypopulate 2.72 as my first add on and I'm getting this error Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING, expecting ',' or ';' in /admin/easypopulate.php on line 657 The code around line 657 is echo "<p class='smallText'>"; echo FILE_UPLOADED .'. <br>'; echo TEMPORARY_FILENAME . ': ' . $usrfl_size . '<br>'; being line 657 Any suggestions what is going on?

    Official PayPal IPN Support Thread

Quick question. Do you need to have dedicated or shared SSL for the paypal IPN to work?

    Official PayPal IPN Support Thread

I'm a bit useless how exactly would I do this? The IPN is set to on, always has been. Nothing has changed with that apart from my hosting. How do I extract what is being posted and what would I be looking for within this information? A couple of points. My paypal IPN was working up until I changed hosts. I installed a completely fresh install of oscommerce on my same hosting package under a new domain name and the paypal ipn doesn't work with it either. I'm thinking it may be something to do with the hosts as a fresh install is not working either. Could it be the hosting package? If so what? and what would I ask them to check/look for when contacting support? Thanks

    Official PayPal IPN Support Thread

I'm still having this issue. I cannot see why the paypal ipn won't work on my new host. I've tried it on two new hosts and it still doesn't work. Has any had this problem? Does anyone know why this has happened and more importantly how to fix it? Thanks in advance
  5. Hi, I posted this in the general IPN thread but thought a new thread would be useful as it is a very specific problem. I changed my hosts recently by transferring all files, database and updating the configure files. All is well apart from the paypal IPN which went from fully working to not updating the status of orders. I'm receiving payments, I'm receiving notification of payments and emails are being sent to customers but the status is not changing from preparing to what I want it to be. What is happening When a customer orders but doesn't complete the transaction is left the preparing state and stored but the customer is not emailed if the customer pays the status is left unchanged at preparing but the customer is emailed and I get the order email as well What happened before was When a customer orders but doesn't complete the transaction is left the preparing state and stored but the customer is not emailed if the customer pays the status is changed to pending, the customer is emailed and I get the order email as well My settings are as follows: Set Preparing Order Status Preparing [PayPal IPN] Set PayPal Acknowledged Order Status Pending As it is notifying the customer and myself that means something is working, I just cannot see why the status is not updating. It happened straight after changing hosts so I can only guess there is maybe something I have to change or configure with the new host. I have a new and different SSL (went from shared to my own) if that makes any difference I noticed in my paypal account that IPN is not activated, would changing hosts has reset this or have anything to do with this? I have no idea if this was activated before, I thought the notify url was sent from my site so it didn't matter but I'm a little fuzzy on that. I'm just guessing at things that may be affecting it as these are the only things that have changed. I would really appreciate some help as it is very frustrating to have it working and then not work. Thanks

    Official PayPal IPN Support Thread

Hi, I've been using paypal IPN successfully for a few years. I would have it set up that if a customer orders but doesn't pay it goes to the preparing status and if the customer pays it goes to a pending status (the customer is only emailed when the order goes to pending). I just moved hosts and quite literally just transferred all the files and databse across and made a few tweaks in the configure file to get the site running on the new host and everything works fine apart from the paypal IPN. When payments are received I get the order email like normal, I receive the notification from paypal of the payment but the status of the order is stuck at preparing. The customer receives an email notification that it is preparing which never happened before. I literally copied all the files across to the new host so I cannot see what has changed. My setting in the module are Set Preparing Order Status Preparing [PayPal IPN] Set PayPal Acknowledged Order Status Pending Any idea why it is staying at preparing and not moving to pending? Thanks

    Omitted shipping charge

Hi, It was around the middle of September I started to experience paypal problems. First shipping would not always be added to payment like the person said above. Around then or maybe a little after 75% of people trying to purchase with paypal are getting a problem when being transferred to paypal, either page not found, page cannot be displayed or just crashing completely. This seems to be on the paypal side of things. I'm sorry to hijack this thread but it sounds like a similar problem (I posted an individual question as well before I noticed this thread). Any idea what to do or what went wrong in the first place? Thanks in advance.

Paypal working fine for two years then

Hi, I've been using paypal as my only means of payment on my website for the last two years and so far everything has been working fine. A couple of weeks ago I noticed a 75% decline in sales and I looked and I saw many people were creating orders but they were being marked as preparing [PayPal IPN] as in the order was created but stopped short of payment. I emailed the customers to see if there were any problems and all the responded said that when clicking on the pay button, that the transfer between my site and paypal the page could not be displayed, timed out or just crashed. Some reported crashing after getting to the paypal stage and it happening when they went to finalise payment. Thing is about 15-25% of orders are getting through OK. I cannot see the common factor to make most fail at the minute. Any ideas what is going on? Has something changed with paypal and I need to tweak something on my site? Thanks in advance.

    [Contribution] Dynamic MoPics

Hi, Can anyone help me. I've installed the contrib and only recently started to use it to display extra pictures of the products (pictures sent in by customers of the products in action to be exact). The problem is that if I have more than 1 extra picture, the images start to overlap (second one is placed over part of the first one) even though there is at least 500px of free space left for the picture to fit in. I don't know why the images overlap when there is so much free space to the right. Any ideas why they overlap? I've using a high resolution so it should display with lots of free space by technically it should display in 600x800 with no overlapping as the thumbnails and pages are small enough to fit on that without scrolling or anything overlapping. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks
  10. Hi, I've always had the dynamic mopix contrib installed but only recently started to use it to display additional pictures of items. I have noticed that if I have more than one extra picture, the thumbnails overlap. It's not because there is lack of space there is still about 500px width of white space (using my resolution). If I resize the browser window it gets smaller and smaller even though their is still space to display both. Any ideas? I was also wanting to centre the thumbnail images in the screen but cannot seem to work out how to do this. The overlapping problem is the biggest issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Protx or Secpay

Thanks Tom, the direct one may sound like the right way to go. Do I need anything special like my own ssl? I have a shared one at the minute for processing login details but as I'm using paypal at the minute I don't have to worry about security of payment information on my site. Thanks

    Protx or Secpay

Hi, I'm currently using paypal as my one and only payment option and it has been working fine. I'm now debating going down the merchant account route (I have just to send back the forms and pay the fees to set it up) but I wanted to ask my silly questions here first before I pay out some cash and make a mistake. I can use the merchant account with secpay or protx. Protx was winning originally but I wanted to check how easy to install the payment modules are and which has the least bugs as this may affect which one I choose. Also I noticed when I go to the protx contributions there are a few and I don't know which one to install. Which one do I install? Summary Secpay or protx? What contributions do I install for each? Is there anyway I could install it and test it before setting up my merchant account? How difficult is it to install these? Thanks in advance.
