  1. Hi Bill, just had a couple of days off this...my head was starting to hurt :) but, now I'm on it again. I had already added the tag $optionchoices to content/product_info.php.html and this is great as you say. However i really want this code on the page that appears before this page, the product_listing page that displays the products available in a catagory. I don't think this page is covered by STS though, I hope I'm wrong...am I? If not, how can I add the $optionchoices tag to the product listing page? Thanks, Mark
  2. Thanks Bill, found it now. Also managed to track down a lot of entries defining images sizes :D I need to add the drop down size availibility box to the main product page but I'm not sure if this is within the scope of sts? I'm still working on that list of contributions that need adding by the way but it getting a bit long :o I'll whittle it down a bit and get back to you.
  3. H'mm, I'm probably being slow here, but Chapter 3.7 Create templates for specific categories (if this is the section you mean) only controls the layout of the page but not the $contents part. I want to be able to alter the way the content is displayed when the categories section comes up on screen. If I'm in the wrong section (which I probably am) can you point me to the right part please. Thanks Bill
  4. I had the same problem Jen, see: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?sho...541&st=3180 see page 160 post 3190. It worked for me, don't worry loads more problems to come ;)
  5. I'm struggling a little with the flow of the template files. I'm trying to get new basic templates set up for each level rather than new ones for each catagory or product. So far I have set up index.php.html and given the same layout to pages like shipping, returns, contact us etc. product_info.php.html has been changed so it's in keeping with the above and I have made a new content/product_info.php.html page which is working well. But, it's the template for the layout of the main catagory page I can't seem to track down. I need to change the size of the images displayed if possible. This page if I'm not being clear: http://www.xxxxxxxxxxxx.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=31_40 the page that starts "Lets see what we have here" how do I edit the text of these lines too (in STS) or does this have to be changed in Oscommerce itself?
  6. Thanks Bill, it's all working now. And now the templates are working I am starting to understand how they work....not easy when they are not working, no way to test anything. I'm sure i'll be back with a few more daft questions. Cheers, Mark
  7. Hi Bill, I've sent you a PM and hopefully you will be able to help me. If I can understand it and get it all working, I'll write a little Dummies Guide (real basic step by step stuff) of my own for others who are totally new to .php, coding and setting up web sites like me. Thanks.
  8. Ok, I'm being a bit thick here but I could do with a Brain Dead Dummies Guide to using these templates. I have it installed correctly I think but no matter I do with the templates, everything stays the same. My fault I'm sure :'( In my catalog/includes/sts_templates/test folder I have a few template files inc. sts_template.html which I beleive is the default file. Do I copy and re-name the sts_template file (say as marks_template01.html) and then point to this file? Would I just change the Default template file name in the Default Module? The other thing I'm not sure about is the files containing php in them i.e. product_info.php_27.html. Is this a required format or would product_info_27.html work just as well? Anyone wanting to explain it in the aforementioned Dummies Guide format would be doing me a huge favour. Thanks. :)
  9. I've upgraded to STSv4.2 and re-installed (many times) and got a few bugs iron out with Vger's help. The values now change but I still can't see any change to the template. I've installed all three modules, uploaded a new template "marks_template01.html" to the sts_templates/test folder and pointed to that file in the STS Modules admin default section as the Default Template File. What have I done wrong as it's not working?
  10. Thanks guys, I'll start from scratch again. Install: oscommerce-2.2ms2-060817 register_globals_v1.5 STS v4.2 with Header Tags Controller 2.5.9 Infobox Templates for use with STSv4.2 Cross fingers and all other bits that will cross and pray it works this time
  11. The problem as described in the above post seems to affect the whole Modules section of the Admin area.....values can longer be changed. Other sections of the admin area seem unaffected.
  12. Hi, I'm new to all this and I'm not a coder so please bear this in mind, but I beleive I have installed it okay. The problem is when I go to Modules/STS Modules/ and I try to edit Default to say Use templates? = Yes, it changes while editing but as soon as i click update it reverts back to saying false. Any ideas. Plus it there a dummy's guide to using STS as I haven't a clue what I'm doing here. I have modded computer games and made basic html websites in Dreamweaver but this is unknown territory for me.
  13. H'mm, can't seem to edit posts on this forum?? Anyway for anyone reading this thread who is not a seasoned computer user can I recommend you download and use this: http://www.crimsoneditor.com/ to open all the help files such as readme, change_history, other_contributions etc etc This will open the files formatted how they were intended, complete with spacing, paragraphs etc intact. If you just use notepad then you get line after line of text which is extremely hard to read and follow. Apologies to those who already know this, but there's a lot of newbies doing this at a guess.
  14. Thanks Rich, you've just made my day.
  15. Hi, I've just downloaded osCommerce 2.2 Milestone 2 Update 060817 dated 17-08-2006 and after having problems with Register Globals found this thread. I've now realised that the pre-patched files won't work with this (or may not anyhow) and I'm not confident about doing it manually. Is it likely an updated version of this contribution will appear in the near future? I'm hoping Richard has subscribed to this thread and will enlighten us :-" This contribution is invaluable to new to newbies like me. Thanks Richard. Mark
