  1. I have Header Tags SEO V 3.1.4 and STS Templates 4.5.8 on RC2 installation. The templates and headertags work ok, but the original page headers are not being stripped out. Has anyone else had this problem, I have been searching the forums forever. I appreciate any help! Richard ============================= Here is the index page header: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> <html dir="LTR" lang="en"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <!doctype html public "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> <html dir="LTR" lang="en"> <head> <title>The Personal Formulator</title> <base href="http://www.personalformulator.com/wvss/"> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="stylesheet.css"> </head> <body marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" topmargin="0" bottommargin="0" leftmargin="0" rightmargin="0"> <!-- header //--> <title>The Personal Formulator Home Page</title> <meta name="Description" content="The Personal Formulator has everything you needd to make handcrafted personal care products" /> <meta name="Keywords" content="Make Your own Personal Care Products, Make Your own Personal Care Products, Make Your own Personal Care Products, skin care, skin care, skin care, skin care, skin care, essential oils, essential oils, essential oils, essential oils, essential oils, formul" /> <meta name="googlebot" content="all" /> <meta http-equiv="Content-Language" content="en-US" /> <meta name="robots" content="noodp" /> <meta name="slurp" content="noydir" /> <meta name="revisit-after" content="1 days" /> <meta name="robots" content="index, follow" /> <meta name="no-email-collection" value="http://www.personalformulator.com" /> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <!-- EOF: Header Tags SEO Generated Meta Tags --> <base href="http://www.personalformulator.com/wvss/"> <!-- start get_javascript(applicationtop2header) //--> <!-- end get_javascript(applicationtop2header) //--> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="stylesheet.css"> </head> <body bgcolor="#EEEEEE">
  2. This seems like a great contributions, but there is a major problem for me: In IE7 every time I refresh the window after a change and try to make another change, I get a Windows IE warning bar at the top telling me the page uses scripted windows, to which I have to click and temporarily allow the windows AGAIN and then click on the field AGAIN... I know that I can turn off the warnings, but that is unrealistic to expect from merchants. Is there some way around this? Also, why is the refresh page necessary? Can't the field in the page be updated to reflect the change with AJAX code? Thanks for any help here. RDB

    [Contribution] - USPS Methods

Using USPS Methods, the contribution gave an error for "France, Metropolitan". It failed to give a quote and came up with error: -2147219080 - Missing value for Country. I see several problems with this the last few years in searching, but no solutions... <_< The Country Codes are there: FX and FXX. Are these valid for USPS? Anyone at all have any ideas or a solution? Thanks for your help. RDB
  4. I have SO MUCH TROUBLE with Paypal and customers not hitting "continue"... And not even the IPN contrib is perfect. So I decided to store all orders before the customer leaves the site for payment. Here is an upgrade to an old contribution, version 2.0 I guess. Order Logging Before Payment Processing http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,871 So what this does is stores all the order information in holding tables that can be brought up in admin. So even if an order is never completed, you have a record of the order, as in Customer Info, Shipping Info, ALL the products and ALL their attributes, and complete order total information. In other words, you don't EVER have to call the customer to ask him what the $242 from PayPal yesterday was for...   You can view or delete the orders in holding from a table listing with Customer name, email, phone, order date, total amount, and payment method. Nothing in this contribution affects the operation of the catalog or the usual storage of data in any way. TO DO: 1. It stores EVERY order that gets to the confirmation page, so a way could be made to mark and mass delete all orders that were completed normally, as well as the duplicates where the customer came to confirmation page ten times.... 2. There needs to be a "Make this a REAL Order" button that places the order as a real order so you have full records, the customer gets his emails and can check his status, etc. So, this is "most of way" there. Maybe YOU can provide the parts that will make it better! Enjoy! Richard

    Please HELP! Shipping Insurance

This is one of the problems perhaps with Paypal IPN. If I were you I would look carefully at the EXTRA code we put in the instructions in the readme.txt file for users of Authorize.net... In order for the shipping insurance amount to be included in the order total, we had to REARRANGE some of the code in the checkout_process.php file. Nothing too major, just a few lines. This allowed the amount to be included in the total BEFORE the authorization process. It may be that you will need to look at when the PayPal IPN process handles order totaling and make sure that the shipping insurance amount is added to the total BEFORE authorization. I have not worked with the Paypal payment module as I live in the Philippines and this is one of their "outlaw" countries. If I try to access PayPal from ANY IP here, it takes MONTHS of unbelievalbe hassle to fix it. It took a year to recover $475 last time... I no longer support anything having to do with Paypal for the sake of the one American account we have to have. Sorry. You might post to this thread: http://forums.oscommerce.com/index.php?showtopic=37432 There has to be someone out there who has successfully used this module with Paypal IPN. Please try that. There is also a UPS shipping module that I saw that includes shipping insurance That module may give you some ideas on how to arrange the checkout process so that it includes the shipping insurance on your site. Forgive the slow support results from the users of osC. It is open source, so we all have our own things to do. I hope you figure it out.
  6. Irina, All I can suggest then is for you to open the readme.txt file and carefully follow the installation again step by step. There are only two files, but there are also some changes that have to be made to some of your other osC files. Be sure you do them all (except the last step which is only if you use Authorize.Net's AIM integration) exactly as instructed, there is no reason that it should not work just as stated. I suspect that since you are getting the HEADING_TITLE instead of the name of the title from the language file, you must not have the language file in the correct place. Otherwise I don't know what to tell you... RDB
  7. Yes, of course. both of the new ot_insurance.php files go right over the old ones. The language file is identical. I wish there was some way to delete a package that has a dumb mistake like I made to avoid confusion, but the downloads area doesn't quite work like that. Neither does life... RDB
  8. Version 2.01 - CALCULATION UPGRADE Everyone, please be sure to use this corrected version. The upload numbered 2.0 has a bug in the totalling. My mistake, I just did not test it properly before posting and was calculating the minimum charge AFTER the total was added. The uploaded package named version 2.01 is corrected. Download Here Enjoy. RDB
  9. Irina, You did not copy the language file into the catalog/includes/languages/english/modules/order_total/ directory. :'( When you do the module will install no problem. Be sure you have put the language file in the correct place: the file and location: catalog/includes/languages/english/modules/order_total/ ot_insurance.php The files are in the correct directories in the distribution. Be sure to see the following post as well. RDB
  10. Here is Shipping Insurance Version 2... Download Here Includes "Customer Choice" that works. The choice is in the Payment section of checkout. I would rather it be in the Shipping section, but variables are difficult to make global in osC without "globals on". If someone has the solution I'd be happy to put the choice section right under 'choose shipping' instead of 'choose payment'.... You can set whether the customer has a choice or is forced in the module config. If he is forced, it simply calculates it on all orders over the minimum total. The fix for not adding a negative amount is included, although not all osC versions had that problem. Still, if the total is less than the minimum total to start charging, it simply is ignored. It is also updated to accomodate the new UPS pricing methods. (For UPS you ignore the first $100 total, and then it is $1.20 for $100 to $300 total, and after that it is simply $.40 per $100.) This is accomplished by setting the "Minimum Charge" (if total is over minimun total) in the module config. Instructions for installation and configuration are in the readme.txt. I still feel that allowing a customer to NOT choose insurance is not the best choice, as you can be sure if any package is not delivered, you will be the one who pays. The customer is not going to take responsibility for his choice, even if you warn him that if he refuses the insurance he is liable. Life just does not work that way! Anyway, for those who were patient, here it is. Enjoy! RDB

    [Contribution] - USPS Methods

I am experiencing a similar error to Mike above:  2147219080 - Missing value for Country. This occurs during checkout_shipping when shipping is being quoted, on an installation that has been working for the last two years. It works perfectly on all addresses that I know of EXCEPT to the Virgin Islands (US). The mailing address is (sort of) Tilly Tester, PO Box 123456, St. Thomas 00803, Virgin Islands (US) My customer has tried entering VI and Virgin Islands (US) as the State and selecting it from States dropdown. She tried using United States as country and Virgin Islands (US) as country. All combinations get the same rejection from the USPS quote request. Interestingly, UPS quotes a price and shipped ok, even though the address is a PO Box.... She did get her order processed finally using a street address and paying the $12 extra for UPS, but she is asking for a refund on it. :'( Anyway, I notice in usps.php there is no country code for US Virgin Islands. The Zip Code gets a "national" quote on the usps.com website. Any Ideas?????

    Automated Auction Process

For those who try FLATCAT'S correction to make this mod get current auctions... There is a mistake in the way the code posted to the forum, a couple of BACKSLASHES are messing things up for those who try it... His post to correct the mod to get the autions is #237 above: http://forums.oscommerce.com/index.php?sho...ndpost&p=596911 The problem line in his code is: $GrabStart = '<tr bgcolor=\"#ffffff\">'; Just get rid of the backslashes... so there are NONE in the line. Since the osC forum MAY be adding slashes it may NOT be right below either, but I will try! If there are ANY \ characters in the line, they have to be removed. $GrabStart = '<tr bgcolor="#ffffff">'; That works for me anyway!

Make CC radio box selected by default

Another simpler way using javascript is to add an onload event to the body tag in your checkout_payment.php file: onload="java script:document.checkout_payment.payment[0].click();return true;" Add it all including the endquotes... This is good on MS2, later CVS may need: onload="java script:document.payment.payment[0].click();return true;" Whether you use "checkout_payment" or just "payment" in your checkout_payment.php depends on the name of the form... This assumes that the ORDER of your payment methods in Admin->Modules->Payment has the credit card module ordered FIRST.

    Is USPS on the fritz?

IF you are all using the USPS Methods contribution, then you may have the same problem I had today, (Dec 3, 2004).... If I try to get TRANSIT TIME I lose the abiblty to get ANYTHING. For now, I turned off "Display Transit Time" and "Display Weight" in the admin for USPS Shipping. That gets me all the quotes fine again. I don't have time today to sort out the reason why it bombs when trying to get transit time, but suspect USPS changed something since last April or May when I stopped offering Domestic USPS. Activating it today produced the problems most of you describe above and in fact, caused my checkout_shipping page to come back 404... Maybe someone can sort out the problem with getting the transit times! At least for now it quotes all the rates OK. RDB
  15. This is probably a stupid question, but... Did you guys insert the different locations to the tax zone? Notice that if you click that little yellow folder on the left that it opens another window where you enter all the locations.... RDB
