  1. Is it possible to use a crontab to generate the catalogue? I have tried running the following command, but I receive an error, "no input file specified". /usr/bin/php -q /home/user/public_html/catalog/admin/pdf_catalogue.php?action=save How do I specify the input file? Regards,
  2. I have been searching in vain for a contribution that can help with the following (probably because I am using the wrong search terms): I would like customers to be able to select products that will packaged together with the price based on the cost of the individual products. For example, the package might be offered containing 10 items. The customer then chooses the ten items. The price and weight depends on the ten items chosen. I would like the customer to be able to see how many items they still need to add to the package as they go along. Also, (separately) I would like a contribution that can help to show the customer how much weight they have remaining before the shipping goes up to the next rate, possibly based on "World Zone Rate" or "Shipping Table Rate" Does anybody have any ideas?

How do I set up shipping for only to UK and EU

In the admin >> Modules >> Shipping / Packaging you specify the zones for which the shipping module will apply. Obviously, you have to create the zones first in admin >> Locations / Taxes >> Tax Zones. If you do not wish to have customers from countries outside the EU, you may consider removing all of the other countries from the database table, "countries". There is also a contribution that can manage countries for you at http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,3607/ Good luck!

    Pounds to Kilos & zones

There are a number of forum threads that deal with this question. For example, see http://forums.oscommerce.com/index.php?showtopic=197922. The basic principle is that weight is anything you decide it to be, the only changes you need to make are in the language files that display the weight from "lbs" to kilos and ensure that you are consistent throughout your store. One extra point to remember is that in the Configuration >> Shipping / Packaging there is an option to add a Package Tare weight and a Percentage increase for larger packages. This can be a cause for frustration when shipping weights don't match the products' weights. When you set up the shipping modules, you determine which zones a particular shipping module applies to. If you set the zone to "--none--" then shipping will apply to all zones. Hope this helped a little - Good luck
  5. Hi Charles, If you are adding a file to the existing contribution, you can click on the "Add A File to this package" link at the top of the contribution's page. If you want to release a new contribution, you click on the "Contribute a new package" link on the main contributions' page at http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions To make it easier for people who download the package, I think that it is better to include all of the files in the newly uploaded package so that everything is complete. It can be awkward having to download and reconcile several files to get a a fully working contribution. Hope this was the answer you needed.

    [Contribution] STS v4

I entered the code as suggested (with a ";" at the end) into the top of "sts_user_code.php" and it worked perfectly. Thank you so much.

    [Contribution] STS v4

In my STS template I would like to add a couple of links to files that already exist in the osC system; "advanced_search.php" and "product_reviews.php" are a couple of examples. I have no idea how to do this correctly because the shop uses multiple languages and using <a href="' . tep_href_link(FILENAME_ADVANCED_SEARCH) . '"><b>' . BOX_SEARCH_ADVANCED_SEARCH . '</b></a> hasn't worked. Is this something that should be done in "sts_user_code.php"? I haven't figured out how. I have checked through the forum and the "STSv4_2.doc". Maybe I'm missing something because of the terminology. Please could somebody help me out here? Best regards,
  8. Have you checked the obvious things like cookie behaviour and cache settings? Also a spyware check? May I also suggest that you try using Firefox 2 on the machine where the problem is occurring? Not only because Firefox is a far superior browser (in my opinion) but more importantly because with the various extensions available, you can see a lot of what is going on in webpages. For example, the extensions, Live HTTP Headers" (http://livehttpheaders.mozdev.org/), "Web Developer Tools" (http://chrispederick.com/work/webdeveloper/) and "Firebug" (http://www.joehewitt.com/software/firebug/) Best regards,
  9. In answer to my own post, I received this advice from the OpenOffice forum for converting Unix timestamps to regular date / time formats:

    [Contribution] Admin Notes

Excellent contribution and very useful. To be even more useful, is it possible to 1. add an extra column in the admin_notes.php page to display the Dates to Remember with most especially, the ability to sort by the dates? 2. be notified by e-mail when a Date to Remember is reached, or to have another type of remonder upon entering the Admin section? Regards,

    OSC Active Desktop

You can include the username and paswword in the url, although it is a little unsafe. However, the technique is: http://user:password@www.whatever.com/ By the way, I took the idea behind this principle and created another active desktop element displaying customers waiting approval (I have member approval contribution installed) - this is very useful for quickly approving (or not) a customer who has applied for membership, especially as the refresh rate is every minute. You could use the active desktop element to display anything from your admin that interests you. Regards,
  12. Can anybody help? Please!
  13. I have installed the "HIde Add to Cart" contribution (1765) and it works fine although the installation instrauctions have missed something. The Buy Now button still appears in the search results. How do I remove the button from search results? I have tried to use the code used in other files but have failed. Regards,

    EasyMap

STSv4_2 and EasyMap It could just be me being a ittle confused, but in order to get EasyMap to work with STSv4_2 I used trial and error. Here are my notes for anyone else who needs - if there are any major flaws in this technique, please let me know. Having installed EasyMap as per the installation instructions, I created the file "easymap.php.html". I saved "easymap.php.html" into the directory catalog/includes/sts_templates/test/ beacuase this is where I have the Default Template that I configured in the Admin section. I then created a copy of the Default Template I'm using and added the lines mentioned in the install instructions FIND: <html> AND REPLACE WITH: <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:v="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml"> FIND <body AND ADD AFTER "body" but before any other variables (i.e, bgcolor, topmargin, etc.): onLoad="load()" onUnload="GUnload()" This has worked for me
  15. I found these topics that might help: http://forums.oscommerce.com/index.php?sho...62&hl=37569 and http://forums.oscommerce.com/index.php?sho...94&hl=37569 I hope you find your answer.
