  1. hi when ever i try to upload a file none of the products are added to the catalogu and it says: 1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use any idea what i can do?
  2. Hi, I'm too having problems with the 'parse error' and cant see a solution in this thread. I followed the instructions once and got the error, so I installed it again after I had reinstalled my backups and I got the exact same error again. help please! Heres the error, I just get a blank page with this at the top Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION, expecting T_STRING in /home/discoun/public_html/includes/functions/html_output.php on line 75
  3. ok, thanks for all your help :)
  4. So if I did have a traditional payment gateway with my own merchant account how would credit cards be charged if I don't do it manually? What kind of module would I need to install, and what service would I need to sign up to?
  5. one last question... If I did choose to accept credit cards using my own merchant account instead of PayPal, would my customers actually enter their credit card details on my site and then would I have to charge the card manually using my merchant account? and if this was the case I assume I would need something like an SSL certificate on the checkout pages of my site?
  6. ^ sounds like a good idea, ill set up my site and see how it goes thankyou!
  7. It looks like I will use PayPal to process all credit card transactions as that seems to be the simplest method. I looked into authorize.net although it seems you need a merchant account to use them, I heard these can be expensive to set up and as I am trying to keep costs to a minimum PayPal seems to be the quickest, and easiest way. I'm still quite new to this and your information really helped. Could you recommend any other companies that provide the same service as PayPal but are even better?
  8. SORRY about the double post no idea why it happened, mods just delete the other thread and keep this one. Im sure there's a simple answer to this, but I have been trailing the forums and thought it would just be quicker to post my question, im sure others can benefit too. Soon I will set up my own OsCommerce site, however before I start I want to make sure I understand fully how the customer pays me (as this is the most important part!). How do customers pay me for products they buy on my site? So far the only solution I have found is to get a PayPal seller account and let customers enter their details on the PayPal site. Would this work? Can customers choose to pay me via PayPal when they get to the 'Checkout' stage of my website? Or, can they enter their credit card details on my site and I process them some other way? Is there an alternative to PayPal that is just as good/better as I have heard some bad reviews :( Also could you advise me of what kind of modules/contributions i would need to install to make this work. thankyou!!
