    Authorize.net is down

Authorize.net is down. Apparently, there was a fire in their datacenter. Here's a small story about it: http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/Credit-...-Offline-103256 Their website is completely down, and they don't answer their phones. Does anyone have any more information? I don't know if they are going to be able to get back up anytime soon, and all my credit card transactions are timing out. Any suggestions on how to get an account with a new payment processor really quickly, and set things up with them? Any other suggestions on what to do? Help!!!!!

    Order Editor for MVS

Hi. I have a heavily modded version of oscommerce, and it seems to have a much older version of the Order Editor installed (1.5.9?). I was trying to upgrade to Order Editor for MVS, since I have installed MVS and the existing Order Editor doesn't work right. But when trying to follow the instructions in install.txt, for modifying admin/orders.php, the existing lines in orders.php do not look like the lines mentioned in install.txt that I am supposed to replace. Any suggestions on how to do the upgrade? Thanks very much! -Lori-

Thanks Jim! I'll check out the addon. I started with a heavily modded site, and I didn't realize there was an addon for MVS for the Order Editor. Thanks again for all your great work! -Lori-

I have been working on my site for quite a while. It's not yet live, but it's getting close. I integrated MVS into it a while ago, and it is great! Thanks so much for this wonderful contribution! Sometimes I get people who order by check, so I would need to enter an order in manually. I tried using the manual order maker / order editor contribs, which are on the admin side of things. But they don't have any support for MVS. So when I created an order, it didn't enter anything into the orders_shipping table. So my question is, what is the best way to be able to enter an order in without entering their credit card info, but to have it act appropriately with MVS? Should I try to do this on the admin side, and is there MVS support for this? Or, it might be easier if I could go through the regular flow, and enter the order as if I were the customer, but then be able to not enter the credit card info. I don't want to leave the "Cash on Delivery" option active in my live website, thought, just the "authorize.net" option, since this is an unusual situation. I hope I'm posting this question in the correct place--sorry if it's not appropriate. Thanks in advance for any suggestions! -Lori-

When our server was upgraded from php3 to php4, I had to make a change to a line in the .htaccess file in my www directory, so it would recognize the .php file type as a php file. It was previously: AddHandler application/x-httpd-php .php .html .htm and I had to change it to: AddHandler application/x-httpd-php4 .php .html .htm I don't know if this will help, because I would think that none of your files would work if that were the problem, but I thought I'd mention it just in case. -Lori-

    Multi_Vendor_Shipping new thread

Hi. I love the MVS contribution--thanks!! I would like to make a little modification in my site--I want to display the shipping cost on the checkout_shipping page, as part of the order_totals, and then have the total cost include the shipping cost. It seems like that might be helpful to the customers, since they will know the total cost, before entering in their payment information. I currently only have a single shipping option for each product, although that might change. Even if there were more than one shipping option, the shipping cost that is displayed could be from the currently selected shipping options. It looks like the code that would be involved is in includes/modules/order_total/ot_shipping.php. There is: if (tep_not_null($order->info['shipping_method'])) It seems that that value is null, on the checkout_shipping page, and thus the shipping information is never displayed. Is there any way that I can modify things, so that this does have a value at this point, and then the shipping cost would be displayed and included in the total? Also, $order->info['shipping_cost'] would also need to be set. I could calculate these values by hand, but then I would have to calculate by hand all the other order_total modules, like any discounts that might apply. I'd really appreciate any suggestions on how best to do this. I am a coder, so if you point me in the right direction, I may be able to figure this out. Thanks very much!!

    Category Discount

Hi Amanda. Thanks for this great contribution, and for all your help in the past! I have a question. I currently have 2 different categories, each containing different kinds of juice. In category 1, I want the discount to be: buy 2 cases, get $2 off each case; buy 3 or more cases, get $4 off each case. In category 2, I want the discount to be: buy 2 cases, get $1 off each case; buy 3 or more cases, get $2 off each case. But the tricky part is, I'd like to combine the quantities between the 2 categories, so that if you order 1 from category 1, and 1 from category 2, you get the discounts associated with buying 2, for each item, from its respective category. So, for the item from category 1, you'd get $2 off the case, and for the item from category 2, you'd get $1 off the case, since you had a total of 2 items between the 2 categories. I don't think there's any way of doing this using the category QVB discount. If I put both categories under the same top category, and I wanted them all to be buy 2, get $2 off each, and buy 3 or more, get $4 off each, then it would work. But I don't see a way of having a different price break between the 2 categories, but having the quantities of the 2 categories be added together to determine which price break you should get in each category. Any suggestions? I think it would need to be a pretty complicated change to the contribution, so that you could specify 2 different category discounts, but have a way of them interacting. I don't see how to do it. Any ideas? I could try my hand at it, if you have any ideas on how to design the change. Thanks very much! -Lori-

I really like the look of your shipping estimator in www.iofast.com. Did you base it on the contribution "Estimated Shipping Costs" at http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,3072 ?? I couldn't find a working example of that contribution, but from the descriptions of the different updates, it didn't sound like it is a nice as the one I saw on your site. I'd really appreciate it if I could get this contribution from you, or at least some guidance on how you implemented it, along with merging it into MVS. Thanks very much! Regards, -Lori-

I am also interested in a shipping estimator that has been integrated with MVS. And I took a look at your site, www.iofast.com, and I really like your shipping estimator. Is there a way that I can get it? Thanks very much! -Lori-

    Multi_Vendor_Shipping new thread

Hi. I'll be using MVS for my new site, and I'm ironing out a few issues. I modified an existing shipping module that I found, Per Item Per State (PIPS2), where you set a shipping cost per item, based on which state the item will be shipped to. For a particular vendor, I only have that one shipping module enabled. The regular ordering process works fine, but there seems to be a problem in the admin side. When I list the orders, which is admin/orders.php, and a particular order is highlighted, there is a "ship" button at the top right. I thought this would just send out the vendor email. But this button is linked to admin/ship_fedex.php?... I don't even have the fedex module enabled, so I don't know why the ship button would be linked to this url. Could this be because I set something up incorrectly in the PIPS shipping module? Or, could there be a problem in my admin/orders.php file? Thanks in advance for your help! -Lori-

Thanks Craig! I think the admin change to the Email Options fixed the problem, at least for emails that can read html. (I hope that is most people--I'm not sure.) The other option, replacing <br>'s with \n's, didn't work, because the function "stripslashes" is called in a bunch of places, and that removes the backslashes, so the newlines go away ("\n" becomes "n"). -Lori-

problems with vendor email: admin/vendor_email_send.php I tried testing out sending a vendor email, which happens in admin/vendor_email_send.php. Initially, it shows a preview of what the email will look like, and this looks fine. It also has a textarea box where you can modify the email. You can see all the html markups. The problem comes when I receive the email. I must not be using an html-enabled email client. But when I view the email, it looks awful. None of the linebreaks show up, and the tables don't show up as tables. Here is the way it looks: To: <vendorname>emailid@company.com, United States------------------------------------------------------Special Comments or Instructions: ------------------------------------------------------From: <customername><customer address> <city>, <state> <zip> <phone>Accnt #: ------------------------------------------------------Order Number: 9712------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Shipping Method: pips2 -- Shipping------------------------------------------------------Dropship deliver to:<customername><customeraddr><city>, <state> <zip> Qty:Product Name:Item Code/Number:Product Model:Per Unit Price:Item Comments: <qty1> <item1> <info1> ... <cost1> <qty2> <item2> ... <cost2> Is there a simple way to modify the email so that it will look reasonable in a non-html-enabled email client? I tried changing all breaks "<br>" to carriage returns: "\r\n" but this was a disaster, because the code calls stripslashes all over the place, and that changes "\r\n" to "rn". Does anyone have a simple solution to this? Sorry if this was already discussed, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Thanks in advance for any help with this! -Lori-

    Category Trees Minimum Order Quantity

Amanda, Thanks so much for all your help with this. I know it has been a while, but I have finally gotten this working, with your modifications, so that it is Category Trees Minimum Order Quantity Value. I can now specify either a minimum order quantity or a minimum order value for a category (or both). In another one of your contributions, Category QVB Discount, you had a way of specifying a teaser that would display when displaying the category and its products. I'd like to do something similar in this case. For example, I'd like to say: Minimum order for Case of Muffins: You must buy at least 3 or Minimum order for Case of Muffins: You must spend at least $25 For Category QVB Discount, there was a separate module in includes/modules/order_total/ot_qvb_discount.php, where the teaser could be defined. Can you recommend a clean way to do this for the Category Trees Minimum Order Quantity Value contribution? Thanks very much! Regards, -Lori-

    Category Discount

    I think I've fixed the problem I was having with the shopping cart box, where it would not always display the discount. I have slightly modified the code you posted, as follows: // Category Quantity/Value Breaks Discount if (MODULE_CAT_QVB_DISCOUNT_STATUS == 'true') { if (!is_object($cat_qvb_discount)) { include_once (DIR_WS_MODULES.'order_total/ot_cat_qvb_discount.php'); include_once (DIR_WS_LANGUAGES . $language . '/modules/order_total/ot_cat_qvb_discount.php'); $cat_qvb_discount = new ot_cat_qvb_discount; } $cat_deduction = $cat_qvb_discount->display_discounts(false); if ($cat_deduction > 0) { //$totals_string .= '<tr><td align="right" class="vsmalltext">Category Discount:</td><td align="right" nowrap class="vsmalltext"><font color="red">-'.$currencies->format($cat_deduction).'</font></td></tr>'; $discounts = $discounts + $cat_deduction; $new_total = $new_total - $cat_deduction; } } I moved the calculation of $cat_deduction outside of the if (!is_object(...)) { ... } and now I get the deduction to display, when it wasn't displaying before. -Lori-
