  1. The contribution I installed from mushindo appears to be basically the same package with a few mods where necessary - he gives full credit to Dave, anyway...
  2. Oh well, this seems to answer the question I was gonna ask a couple of days ago, ie which of the store feed contributions are the best ones to use :P . I've installed Automatic Store Feeds v3.0 instead, which seems to all install and run fine. I'm having problems getting the feed to Froogle working, but I suspect this may be more to do with Froogle than the application...
  3. Hi, has anyone managed to successfully install and use this contribution? It seems such a great concept and one that I would use a lot on my site. However the lack of support and the fact that it doesn't seem to work is a bit of a hurdle... I've read the support thread on the "Happy Hour" contribution, which this seems to be based on but the code appears to be totally different so there's not much help there. Just to summarise the problem - The package appears to install correctly and the admin side works fine (ie the price hammer data is written to the new table in the db). However, regardless of what date/time you set neither the Happy Hour or the Price Hammer info boxes appear at the set times, nor do the prices appear to change if you go in and view the product directly. I'm not enough of a code-warrior to be able to identify the problem, but it would be nice if we could get this contribution working properly between us, as I think it's got a lot of potential.
  4. Forgive me if this has already been answered, but I tried my best to work through 40 pages of thread! First things first, this is a superb contribution - the difference in the quality of the images is unbelievable. I'm getting a lot of images that aren't showing up and they're all GIFs, no surprise there. I've checked my server and it have GD version "2.0 or higher" - I was under the impression that this could handle GIFs. server_info even says that GIF read and create suppport is enabled, but I just get blank white squares. Am I just going to have to grit my teeth and replace all the GIFs with JPGs? It's just there are 229 of 'em... :'( Or is there something obvious I'm missing?
  5. Hi - I think I'm the only other person alive on this thread. I'm not sure I can help you with this, as I've got the date display disabled on my site so I've not had to look at this yet. I think you need to be looking at the newsdesk_listing.php file, around lines 124-127. I can't be more specific - the code is particularly impenetrable, and I'm no php coder by any means! I'm having trouble with changing the order that the news information is displayed on the same page you're having date problems with - at the moment it's summary - image - title, when I want it to be image - title - summary. I've mucked around with the code in newsdesk_listing all day and not got anywhere. How did you do it? The guy who developed this module has also done loads of other stuff, and I guess he just doesn't have time to support this and the other bits he's done, I've not seen him in this thread for over a year. Good luck, anyway!
  6. Yeah, but I want to be able to display the news as a 4 x 4 table, rather than just listed vertically as it is. I also want to muck around with the layout. Sorry - this is becoming more of a Newsdesk topic than a Featured Sets one :-" , I just thought that FS would be an easier way of doing it...
  7. Me again. Well, I've got it working - the newsdesk module was missing from the admin/includes/modules directory, as soon as I put it in it all started working. I thought I'd done the install correctly, but obviously not :-" . There is a bit of weird behaviour in the catagories view pages, but I reckon I can sort that out.
  8. Bleh... when I said "working", I meant "sort of working" - at least you can see and edit the categories, but when you go to create a new news item it lets you enter the headline, but nothing else... you just get a blank in the Summary area  . You can save it, but obviously it's a bit... ummm... empty.
  9. Okay, I've managed to get it working - by replacing the updated newsdek.php file from Lupin3rd with the previous version from ddSHADOW, so it's something to do with that... I'll get back if I find out what it is.
  10. I am having exactly the same problem - everything installs and works fine until you want to write a news article! I'm wondering if you need to install some separate package for the WYSIWYG editor to work? Just a guess...
  11. Steve, this is a great contribution. What I'm wondering is how easy it would be to modify this to work with Newsdesk (one of your adopted babies, I see) so we could have "featured news" on the front page of my site? I want the features of Newsdesk with the layout of Featured Sets, to be able to pull up news items and articles on the front page to keep it all fresh. Is this do-able?
  12. Hi everyone, I'm new to OS-Commerce and I'm just about to start work on a new site using it. Previously I'd used Shop-Script, which I paid good money for but was disappointed with the dismal support and lack of a user community so I decided to jump ship! One feature Shop-Script did have that I liked was the option to selectively upload information from a CSV file - so for example I could use the company's Excel price list to update the product pricing on the site. There seem to be a lot of CSV-import modules available for OS-Commerce, but from what I can see having briefly looked at them, you have to have ALL the product information (description etc) on the CSV file. The problem is that the description on the company price list is minimal and I'm not allowed to modify the file in any way, nor am I inclined to do so even if I wanted to! Is there a module available that would allow me to select only the pricing column against each product and upload that to the site?
