    OSC-Affiliate

Hi, been looking at this as an option for my store and was wondering if it would be easy to setup for someone with little experience of php and oscom? It's difficult trying to get an idea of this from such a long thread. Is this the only affiliate option, or are there others as well? Thanks

    Official PayPal IPN Support Thread

Hi Folks, I'm nearing my wits end, so thought I would try one last time to see if anyone can offer a solution to my problem... its been months now This is, to my knowledge, in no way related to the problems others have been having recently. Apologies for repeating myself, but I want to start from the beginning. I changed servers a few months ago, before which everything was working fine. Paypal IPN updated order status without any issues. Since moving servers (now with bluehost) the orders are going through, but the order status is not being update by paypal IPN. I therefore have no way of knowing which orders have been paid for, and have to check each order against my paypal account to see which have been paid for, and need shipping. Please, if anyone can tell my why this is, I will be eternally greatful. The following is my .htaccess file (root folder) - seems it may be relevant? I'm not a coder, just fiddle a little with php and html. Would be lying if I said I understood how it worked. # $Id: .htaccess,v 1.3 2003/06/12 10:53:20 hpdl Exp $ # # This is used with Apache WebServers # # For this to work, you must include the parameter 'Options' to # the AllowOverride configuration # # Example: # # <Directory "/usr/local/apache/htdocs"> # AllowOverride Options # </Directory> # # 'All' with also work. (This configuration is in the # apache/conf/httpd.conf file) # The following makes adjustments to the SSL protocol for Internet # Explorer browsers <IfModule mod_setenvif.c> <IfDefine SSL> SetEnvIf User-Agent ".*MSIE.*" \ nokeepalive ssl-unclean-shutdown \ downgrade-1.0 force-response-1.0 </IfDefine> </IfModule> # If Search Engine Friendly URLs do not work, try enabling the # following Apache configuration parameter # # AcceptPathInfo On # Fix certain PHP values # (commented out by default to prevent errors occuring on certain # servers) # #<IfModule mod_php4.c> # File modified on Mon Sep 17 03:32:44 2007 by server # For security reasons, mod_php is not used on this server. Use a php.ini file for php directives # php_value session.use_trans_sid 0 # For security reasons, mod_php is not used on this server. Use a php.ini file for php directives # php_value register_globals 1 #</IfModule> Matt

Thanks for that, unfortunately I'm a novice at all of this, and am not exactly sure of all of what you mean... however, it is noteworthy that the name of the database HAS changed, and this may well be the problem- what would I need to alter for PaypalIPN to recognise this and start looking in the right place?

so that would be HARALD Ponce de Leon... my personal issue is not the result of a change in the way IPN works, but a change of host, not sure the contribution has a problem as there would presumably be more people posting here. Any takers regarding my question above? all these manual checks are getting me down :'(

Having followed the instructions above, I got an error message in File Manager and the code has been editted by the server as follows.... Use a php.ini file for php directives # php_value session.use_trans_sid 0 # For security reasons, mod_php is not used on this server. Use a php.ini file for php directives # php_value register_globals 1 #</IfModule> My php.ini file contains only the following code: register_globals = on As this thread has become a bit confuddled, to summise the story so far: I changed hosts some weeks ago, after which paypal IPN stopped working (all orders remained Pending [paypal IPN] regardless of actions on paypal website) I reinstalled paypal IPN from scratch and set it up as it had been working on the old hosts. The above adjustments were made to .htaccess as suggested above.

Hi, can ayone help with this? The htaccess file in my catalogue contians the following code: # $Id: .htaccess,v 1.3 2003/06/12 10:53:20 hpdl Exp $ # # This is used with Apache WebServers # # For this to work, you must include the parameter 'Options' to # the AllowOverride configuration # # Example: # # <Directory "/usr/local/apache/htdocs"> # AllowOverride Options # </Directory> # # 'All' with also work. If this sheds any light on the problems I am having, when I view ipn.php in interent explorer, I get the following message: Server Requirement Error: register_globals is disabled in your PHP configuration. This can be enabled in your php.ini configuration file or in the .htaccess file in your catalog directory.

Hello again, I had a look through the file suggested above and found nothing obvious, but then I'm hardly proficient in matter of php. So, I decided to reinstal, deleted IPN, installed the lates (2.2) contribution, and set it up as per the instructions... but I still have the same problem. Every order is appearing as Preparing [Paypal IPN] I can't understand why this would happen, it worked perfectly on the old host, and having been clean installed on the new ghost, should surely work equally well on here? The rest of the site hasn't changed at all, and address is the same. Any help hugely appreciated, getting a bit tired of manually checking and updating each order individually.....

Hi, Sorry to add another question to the discussion, I installed paypal IPN without any problems, and it worked fine until I moved the site from one host to another. Now all order show as preparing regardless of whether payment has been received - any ideas why this is and how I can fix it? Should I reinstall?
  11. Hi, I recently moved servers, and have managed to keep everything working except paypal IPN. Order status shows orders awaiting verification after they have been processed by paypal. Is there any way to fix this, or do i need to reinstal IPN ? Thanks in advance, Pace PS. before anyone replies with 'try searching before you post', i have. Just because i havent found the answer doesnt mean i havent looked.
