    Email queuing system

Real life feedback/ideas from shopowners lead me to this change; With one extra line of code in the main module I made this a reality, so now it's possible to use the {{TAG}} system in the Title as so: and when received looks like (eg) this: Pretty damned cool!

Gone over most of this and it works like a charm. Was easy to install simply follow instructions and should have no issues. I simply copied ove my old config and .htaccess files and was able to log into new admin. I kept it simple by renaming my old admin and naming the new one the same as the old so no config changes needed. Not going to post link to admin! so here is a short view of what the new admin looks like. I would recomend taking a look and using it. Oh and you can show your appreciation for the work done by simon by looking at the bottom of his text in the app's market 😊 buy him a beer or 2. Thank's Simon

    Email queuing system

I've now created a module for order_success to replace the standard order success email that osC sends. If anyone wants to test it: https://template.me.uk/outgoing/ and progress all the way through the checkout. You'll get an email sent by this new system - so PLEASE use a real email address... This system is looking like another game-changer.

    Email queuing system

We also now have Filtering (for the outgoing Queue). Now easily see individual customers or slugs. As an example, let's say that the Queue has 200 emails in it waiting to go out over the next 3 months. Examples of use; You want to see all "birthday_greetings", select that slug from the dropdown and press go. You want to see all emails that are going out to a particular customer. Select that customer and press go. You want to see all "review_requests" going to a particular customers. Select slug and customer, and press go. This thing is getting better and better...

"Frozen" is Bootstrap v3. If yours has BS v4, you're using someone else's build. It may or may not work for you, but can't be supported here.
  7. 2 points
Don't go around searching for "Frozen" or "CE" and "osCommerce". There are many "responsive" versions around, but the one in my link below (for "Frozen") is more-or-less the "official" Frozen release. Just use that one.

So first backup and then backup ant then once again backup! Now just to be safe make a copy of your database. phpmyAdmin select your database then go to operations tab and select copy database to ...... you should then have a copy of your db. test any SQL scritp on a copy first. so use this to set product_status on all products with price over or equal to £299 to 0(turned off) update `products` set `products_status` = 0 WHERE `products_price` >= '299'; tested on CE and MySQL - 10.1.38-MariaDB-cll-lve

You could give it a go by doing as suggested above by jcmagpie => a new admin folder to run alongside your real admin.

    International SEO

Every time SEO Urls has been metioned I've heard "there's no point on using it nowadays". Well this is a true example of why these are still useful and why oscommerce has a poor localization. If you have a multilingual shop and you want it to be correctly indexed you really, really need a SEO addon that rewrites urls for each language. BTW I've been tweaking the latest versions of SEO urls 5 and there's a glitch with hreflang tags not being correctly shown until session is set - so spiders can¡t see it. I'll fix it and upload again in case someone wants to use it.

JcM World Time V1.0 for CE BS4/3 A simple addon to let you place 6 world time clock onto your website. Again totally stand alone with no core code changes. Simply copy all files into relevant sections and go to admin modules /content and install. Clocks can be changed in admin, a table is provided in the language file showing the clocks available. You must use the label provided to select as shown below. Pick time zone---("NewYork").innerHTML = worldClock(-5, "Namerica") So you enter NewYork into box in admin. In the language file you can set the text to anything you like but the clock definition must be set as shown in the table. define('MODULE_CONTENT_JCM_WORLD_TIME_CLOCK_FIX2', '-5, "Namerica"'); that’s it Enjoy.

No as the local css is only for the bits that can be changed in admin! ie to overide the main file. The menu is responsive hence width is set to 100% so it will auto change as screen size changes. You can make small changes with padding but setting a fixed width is not recomended. But as always it's your site so you can do what ever you like. min-width works fine on stock code 😊, just make sure you apply it to the right part of the css. Again I do NOT recomend doing this.

You can play with the layout to make it look pretty, but you got to stop at some point. 😊

Please compare the coding in the navbar template for the different groups. The modules left and right group have <ul> tags wrapped around the groups, the home group does not have it. So try to add <ul> tags to the home group in the navbar template, in which case the brand template (and all other home group module templates) also need <li> tags. As already pointed out, it needs some additional css/tags to style it.

    which version are you looking at? I only looked at BS4 but should be the same for BS3. The nav bar is using 2 modules. The first is in public_html/includes/modules/content/navigation/templates/tpl_cm_navbar.php This then pulls in the modules from includes/modules/navbar_modules/templates/ So if you wish to keep original navbar then simple add code to public_html/includes/modules/content/navigation/templates/tpl_cm_navbar.php as shown below. or make a new navbar to replace the current and add all your custom code and turn on and turn off stock. I've added it to the test site so you can see. https://chilleddisplays.co.uk/ like this, <nav class="navbar <?php //echo $navbar_style; ?> cm-navbar"> <?php if ($oscTemplate->hasBlocks('navbar_modules_home')) { echo '<div class="navbar-header">' . PHP_EOL; echo $oscTemplate->getBlocks('navbar_modules_home'); echo '</div>' . PHP_EOL; } ?> <ul class="navbar-nav flex-row"> <li class="nav-item"><a class="nav-link px-2" href="#"><span class="fa fa-facebook"></span></a></li> <li class="nav-item"><a class="nav-link px-2" href="#"><span class="fa fa-twitter"></span></a></li> <li class="nav-item"><a class="nav-link px-2" href="#"><span class="fa fa-youtube"></span></a></li> <li class="nav-item"><a class="nav-link px-2" href="#"><span class="fa fa-linkedin"></span></a></li> </ul> <div class="collapse navbar-collapse" id="collapseCoreNav"> <?php if ($oscTemplate->hasBlocks('navbar_modules_left')) { echo '<ul class="navbar-nav mr-auto">' . PHP_EOL; echo $oscTemplate->getBlocks('navbar_modules_left'); echo '</ul>' . PHP_EOL; } if ($oscTemplate->hasBlocks('navbar_modules_right')) { echo '<ul class="navbar-nav ml-auto">' . PHP_EOL; echo $oscTemplate->getBlocks('navbar_modules_right'); echo '</ul>' . PHP_EOL; } ?> </div> </nav>

777 is NOT correct on many servers. They will give a 500 error because this is a security exposure ("world writable files"). You start with the minimum permissions on any file (typically 644) and add "write" permissions (664, then 666) until you get it working. Very few servers now require PHP files to be marked "executable" (755, 775, 777). This applies to files that PHP needs to write to, and depends on how PHP is configured (especially, what user group it's running under). 777 was safe to do back in ancient times, when you could trust everyone sharing your Unix computer. You can't anymore, especially on a server shared with hundreds or even thousands of strangers. Giving them "world write" access to your files is asking for trouble. If someone blithely tells you to "chmod 777 your files", they're an idiot. Don't listen to them.

Improving your stock gallery in osC CE

I don't think that modifying the core js file of the application is a good idea, also not start using the uncompressed file. The file is like that for a reason and is not meant to be modified in order to change any settings Any options can be passed to the script before it is called in your code. This is the common way for all scripts of this type. That way you can have individual settings for each purpose keeping the core file healthy. can upgrade easily by just replacing the file without having to re-modify etc More info about passing default parameters: http://www.jacklmoore.com/colorbox/faq/#faq-defaults More info general: http://www.jacklmoore.com/colorbox/faq/

    Add to Cart not working

If the button is showing, which it sounds like it is, then it is probably being overlayed by some other div. Try adding z-index:100; to the class for the button.

Our thread on Dashboards got me poking around on the web to see what sort of bootstrap dashboards others were using and I came across what I'll refer to as an InfoBar Dashboard. Here is a screen shot of one that I found and really liked. I can see where this type of Dashboard bar could be very useful....it might consist of a collection of similar styled dashboard modules that can be turn on or off depending on what a particular shop ower might find useful. As a proof of concept and to see if my copy and paste coding skills were up to the challenge, I developed the following module. You just install it like you would any other module...no core changes...well almost none...I discovered that bootstrap and font awesome weren't active on the admin side of the shop so I needed to adjust template_top accordingly. What do you think of the idea? Dan
