rgvsean
My shop is on 2.2 and has been working fine for ages. All of a sudden since friday customers cannot get to pay-pal. After pressing the LOG IN button on their pay-pal screen they get a message explaining there is an error in the link they came from. :( Any ideas? Thank you in advance. ♥ecartz
In the PayPal forum, there was something about the the URL changing from secure.paypal.com to www.paypal.com Have you tried installing a newer version of the PayPal payment module? Perhaps a parameter has changed? Which module have you been using? Standard? IPN? Express? Pro? I can tell you that at least one site got orders through PayPal yesterday. Do the two of you have the same host? Or different hosts? Always back up before making changes.
rgvsean
Hi thank you for taking the time to answer. I simply installed the pay-pal module in OSC2.2 and linked it to an existing pay-pal account. Happy to alter the php if you can point me to it. rgvsean
PAY-PAL Respond: Hi Sean, This error seems to be happening with old versions of oScommerce shopping carts that is using the old payment URL of 'https://secure.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr' instead of https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr To fix the issue, contact your cart vendor or web developer to edit your oScommerce shopping cart to reflect the current payment URL of https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr Make this change and let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks. Now I just need know how to find that part
GemRock
depending on whicj paypal module you use. generally, under includes/modules/payment, find the one you use, then search for "'https://secure.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr", and replace it accordingly. rgvsean
Found it fixed it, for the chap above having the same issue the URL to repair is in INCLUDES/MODULES/PAYMENTS paypal.php simply copy in the NEW URL and it works a treat. Must say thanks to pay-pal for swift response. ( Typing at same time lol - thank you :) )

PaulHarder2
I had customers report the same thing today. All is well now, a big thanks from me too. Folks, I'm an utter newbie here. I'm here only at the request of a friend of mine whose website uses osCommerce for a shopping cart and payment system. The guy who setup his system has moved on. I'm a very technical guy -- a software developer in fact -- but I know nothing about osCommerce. Reading through the messages in this thread, it appears that, to fix his problem of PayPal not working, he needs to edit one or more files. But neither he nor I know where these files are or how to get access to them. Can somebody tell me who I can talk to, to get enough of the lay of the land to start working on his problem? You're welcome to send email to me at [email protected] Thank you.
h2oHOH
PayPal not working, he needs to edit one or more files. PayPal has changed their payment URL for Standard / IPN ... it's a popular subject these days, so if yours stopped working - Look in catalog/includes/modules/payments - for the PayPal Standard or IPN php file you have installed - open it and find: $this->form_action_url = 'https://secure.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr'; // old Change to $this->form_action_url = 'https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr'; // new other PayPal mods N/A
Ginfritter
I applied the update, but the page still goes to https://secure.paypal.com/... I am running OS Commerece 2.x and the server is using Apache 1.3. I have cleared out my cache on the web browser and still the site is going to the old page. i called up my webhost tech support and they state it is a script error. I think the server needs to be rebooted or the cache refreshed on the server to get the script to run.anyone else had this problem?
tctcfavors
This error seems to be happening with old versions of oScommerce shopping carts that is using the old payment URL of 'https://secure.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr' instead of https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr Thanks, from everything that I have come across, this seems to be my problem. Can you please tell me where to find that line to make teh adjustment? I can't contact my web developer and really don'thave the money to hire someone, so I need to learn how to do this...
