Hi there
I have a curious problem after years of a site working beautifully.
I use a bank credit card processor (a hosted payment page)

This normally verifys a credit card charge then posts back to my site to checkout process and away we go.
However out of the blue when it posts back and tries to add info to the database it throws a

MySQL server has gone away.

and does nothing.
The payment is received by the credit-card company etc.

The stranger thing is I have another site which has the same set up with the same hosting company that works fine.
I have spoken with both the Credit Card people and my hosts. (no changes have been made) I just wondered if anyone here has had a similar problem.

I have tried optimizing tables.
optimizing tables with overhead etc

All other Payment Modules are working fine paypal ipn etc
