  1. Hi Folks; I'm running 2.3.3.4 and using PayPal Express. Last night someone from France tried to buy something and I got a debug email back from PayPal. The problem is that it contains almost no content - just this; $HTTP_POST_VARS: $HTTP_GET_VARS: I've searched and searched and searched and found lots of posts from people with the same issue but no resolution. How do I get enough debugging information back so that I can determine why the guy from France could not complete his purchase?
  2. I'd be very interested to hear from you on whether it works or not. There seems to be little recent info this mod. Please post back and let us know how it goes once it's sorted :)
  3. Hi Harald! So...if a person logs in with PayPal then it pulls their address information into the site? Also, does it then automatically create a site account for them? I'm looking at upgrading from 2.3.3.4 to 2.3.4
  4. Any news on the Canada Post shipping front with respect to OSC ? I'd love to get real-time rates based on dimensions, weight, source postal code and destination postal code. I'm trying to follow all these various threads and cannot even determine if any of the contribs work at all ?
  5. Hi Jorgeo; I'm looking at installing this mod this afternoon. One question, in the install docs it says that, "It is recommended to use the same database as osCommerce for your tables." Is this a requirement or just a recommendation? ie. I have separate dB's for the store and osC - will the mod still work under that design? Thanks very much!
  6. Aha - no I did not try that. I don't have SSL enabled on the site at present due to some unique issues (my FQDN does not match my domain name so any certificates will likely cause error messages). It sounds like you have the proper answer to the issue though I just can't make use of it!
  7. Hi Harald - Good to hear from you ! I did. I have set shipping rates for my products (domestic & foreign). So, domestic = $5 and foreign = $10 When someone came on the site, and did not register an osc account and hit the PayPal button the rate they would get quoted was the foreign rate even though they were domestic. History showed that if the transaction was completed they would be charged the correct rate but PayPal would actually still show the incorrect rate. My layman's conclusion was that the proper rate could not be calculated because the store did not know their shipping address. My conclusion could easily be wrong, but taking out the PayPal button forces them to create an account on the store and then this information is probably passed to PayPal when they checkout and thus, they get the right shipping rate quoted to them. As mentioned, I don't understand how the underlying code works but this issue cropped up again this morning and the customer was good enough to spend as much time as needed as a guinea pig for me to follow it through.
  8. Just a confirmation that chopping out the above mentioned code (thanks Dan) worked on my 2.3.3.4 store :)
  9. Just an update - I installed it on 2.3.3.4 - it was very easy and it seems to work perfectly. I didn't use the captcha option (yet) but if I start seeing spam I will. Thank you so much for making this mod - it resolved an important issue in probably 20 minutes. Nice! Suggestion? Don't know if it's possible but if someone sends an inquiry with respect to an order, and the site owner gets the email, could it not be made so that the inquiry email has a hyperlink to the order in question? Just a though, don't know if it's possible or not or even desirable.
  10. Thank you for mentioning that! I'm running 2.3.3.4 and often run into mods where it's not clear if they support the latest release. I'm off to install it now....wish me luck!
  11. Yes, I ran the MySQL script and created the tables. I also set up some cross-sells but started seeing really weird behavior. The prices on the cross sells were off - sometimes they showed up, sometimes they didn't. I think the conclusion is that I'm just going to have to wait until someone updates the mod for 2.3.3.4 and then it can be more properly fleshed out. Thanks for trying though - it is appreciated!
  12. Strange, it doesn't seem to work at all. I took my time on it, went through it methodically, the site continues to work and the admin has a section for cross-selling. I enabled a cross-sell for an item and then checked the store but I don't see any recommended products or any notification for them.
  13. Excellent - I'll go back to that in two seconds (well...maybe not that fast). Quick off-topic question if you have a minute. I have 2.3.3.4 installed and emails aren't getting through. I changed over to SMTP but there seems to be no method to specify what server to use. In broad strokes - what am I missing here? We have our own mail server which would be ideal to use.
  14. Thanks for the reply! I took a look at it (the contrib) and then started an install but I'm getting that sinking feeling.... The docs for the mod list at least 3 files that don't exist; Step 5B: mobile_product_info Step 7: also_purchased_mobile Step 7: xsell_mobile Don't know what to do there but given the scope of the missing files/mods that need to be done I'm pretty sure it won't work. So far those errors/omissions seem to be related to 'mobile' files. My guess is that the osc version this mod was written for had mobile-specific files and that this has been deprecated in 2.3.3.4?
  15. Does anyone know if this mod works with 2.3.3.4 ?
