  1. Sorry Jack, you lost me with that comment. Where should we download the latest version from? On addons.oscommerce.com the latest version is 3.0 dated 5th Sept 2011. That version does not contain the updated code you posted to this forum thread on 8th Sept. Can you see why we are confused?
  2. qahsan786, Please read post 1870 and 1877 - 1880 on this thread. The problem with the invalid username message on OSC2.3 is because the latest code is not in the download on addons.oscommerce.com. The fixed code that you need is in post 1870. This has caused some confusion for myself and others.
  3. Hi Sam, I installed this recently and it is definitely one of the easier addons I have installed. There is a very good pdf manual included with the download. You will see that it lists the files involved. They are all new files except for index.php which has a small edit near the bottom of the file. Are you getting an error when you try to access your site or have you not got that far yet? What version of osCommerce and the addon are you using?
  4. Hi. I think I have found a small bug in the categories_images.php module of version 1.2.6.. If I configure the number of columns to be 3 and have 3 categories in my store and specify a box style of grid, the module generates invalid HTML. I am getting an extra unmatched </tr> tag just before the </table> which ends the table of categories. It looks as though the code doesn't handle the number of categories being an exact multiple of the number of columns correctly.
  5. OK. Solved it. I needed to replace sitemonitor_admin.php with the new version posted by Jack in post 1870 above. I had actually read that post and incorrectly assumed that by now the download on addons.oscommerce.com would have been updated but it hasn't.
  6. You are not alone Chris. I have exactly the same problem and I've been tearing my hair out for a few hours trying to fix it. New install of SiteMonitor 3.0 on osCommerce 2.3.1. I get the pink error line saying the username is invalid and the system and sitemonitor paths in the message are identical. Could really do with some help here.
  7. My version for osCommerce 2.3.1 has now been uploaded to http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/8121 Many thanks to MalibuLori for help with testing.
  8. Hi Nic, thanks for the reply. I'm not sure what you mean by this. FTP is a file transfer program not an editor. Yes, I have used FTP to download the whitelist to my PC, edited the file and used FTP to put it back. This works provided I keep the DOS end of lines when editing. I am in a Linux environment both at the client and server end. I guess that doing the FTP transfers in ascii or binary mode will also have an effect for some people. Binary mode will leave the file unchanged while ascii mode may change the end of line characters depending on the operating systems involved. I have seen many posts on here from people unable to get the whitelist to work and many from people for whom it works perfectly. I am just offering this end of line problem as a possible solution to the problem. It is something I have observed on my installation and keeping the DOS end of line characters solves the problem. I don't think users of IP Trap should have to worry about keeping the file in DOS format if they are working in a Unix / Linux environment, hence my question about whether it is possible to code the addon so that it works with either type of end of line characters.
  9. I now have Age Restricted Category working on my osCommerce 2.3.1 site. If anyone would like to test it for themselves let me know and I can send you the new code.
  10. I've just hit the same problem with this addon. Has anyone got this working with 2.3.1? I tried commenting out the requires for column_left.php and column_right.php and it almost works but when I click on YES to enter a category it tells me the category has no content which is not correct.
  11. I have just spent a couple of hours trying to understand why I couldn't get the whitelist to work with this addon (version 5.2) and think I finally found the answer. I was adding my IP to Whitelist.txt but still getting banned when I tried to access the personal folder. I think the problem was caused by using the cPanel editor on my web hosting to edit Whitelist.txt. This changed the end of line characters from CRLF to LF (DOS format to Unix format) and this stops the whitelist from working. If I edit Whitelist.txt on my Linux PC in DOS format and then upload it to my web host it works and my IP does not get banned. Is there any way IP Trap could be modified so Whitelist.txt doesn't have to be DOS format?
