#1753237 Horizontal Categories Menu BS

Posted by Tsimi on 13 February 2017 - 06:08

@joe122joe

open the file go to ext/grid_menu/css/component.css and search look for this code around line 31/32

	width: 90%;
	max-width: 69em;
	margin: 0 auto;
	padding: 0 1.875em;

replace that with this

	width: 98%;
	margin: 0 auto;
	padding: 0 1.875em;

That will move the main categories to the left.

Then if you want to have the sub-categories aligned to the left search within the same file around line 111

	text-align: center; /* for aligning the sub items */

and change that to

	text-align: left; /* for aligning the sub items */

or

	/*text-align: center; /* for aligning the sub items */

That's it.

New version now available!

http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/9375

Change log:

- Updated for osC EDGE and PHP7 compatibility.
- Now you can on/off category images.
- Minor code cleaning

Depending on your category name length you might have to adjust this following css value inside the .../templates/catmenu.php file.

.menu_custom_width {
 min-width: 200px;
}

Enjoy!

I'm beginning to wonder if these guys even test their projects before posting them.

Yes, we do test our stuff before uploading it to the addons area. Attitude or comments like that won't help you either.
You still haven't provided the information I asked you for in the other discount thread you posted. Keep in mind more info YOU provide the better and accurate we can help.
Anyways, looking at your store from the link you posted I can see that you are running the "normal" osC 2.3.4 version. THIS addon, Discount Codes BS, was made/adapted for osC Bootstrap only. You cannot use that addon for your current shop. So you have two choices, either you install and use a Bootstrap version of osC or you install a Discount Codes addon that is compatible with your shop. For example with this one.

http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/7700

If you want to know more about the community build Bootstrap stuff read here.

http://forums.oscomm...e-get-go/page-1

One more thing, if you see addons that have the 2 letters "BS" in their title name then they are most likely made for the Bootstrap version and are therefore not compatible with your current shop version.

@raiwa

Just did a couple test runs and all looks good here.

What do you want to do with the version number inside the OT module?

$this->version = '4.1 BS';

change it to 4.2?

I don't see why someone would insert a discount code and then would want to remove it again before going into the checkout process. Makes no sense to me.

We would do this because we test things but a regular customer wouldn't do that I think.

Yes, I will test it and then upload it.
Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion.
You have a small typo in the first find/replace code.

MODULE_CONTENT_NEW_PRODUCTS_DISPLAY_EACH

This should be

MODULE_CONTENT_INDEX_FEATURED_PRODUCTS_DISPLAY_EACH

And you could reduce the choice of widths to maybe 6, 4 and 3? I don't think anyone will use 12, 10, 8, 7, 5, 2 and 1.
The same could/should be implemented inside the index_nested module.

@spidometrs

I had time to take a look at it and I cannot recreate the same problem in my test shop. I added new filters or edited old filters all looks good here.

Not sure what exactly happened at your end but if the old categories_filters.php file works use that.

@raiwa

Hi Rainer

I just installed your PWA for BS 2.0.zip package.

All looks good here.

I only found this typo;

Inside the install manual Step 2.2 the FIND query has no TABLE_ definitions and can therefore not be found.

Your thinking is the correct, future proof way, Gary will replace those TABLE_ instances in the future but till then they are there.

That step could be changed to something like

Find:
        $check_status_query = tep_db_query("select customers_name, customers_email_address, orders_status, date_purchased from " . TABLE_ORDERS . " where orders_id = '" . (int)$oID . "'");

 or

        $check_status_query = tep_db_query("select customers_name, customers_email_address, orders_status, date_purchased from orders where orders_id = '" . (int)$oID . "'");

then further below the same thing with this piece here

<?php
    if (isset($HTTP_GET_VARS['cID'])) {
      $cID = tep_db_prepare_input($HTTP_GET_VARS['cID']);
      $orders_query_raw = "select o.orders_id, o.customers_name, o.customers_id, o.payment_method, o.date_purchased, o.last_modified, o.currency, o.currency_value, s.orders_status_name, ot.text as order_total from orders o left join orders_total ot on (o.orders_id = ot.orders_id), orders_status s where o.customers_id = '" . (int)$cID . "' and o.orders_status = s.orders_status_id and s.language_id = '" . (int)$languages_id . "' and ot.class = 'ot_total' order by orders_id DESC";
    } elseif (isset($HTTP_GET_VARS['status']) && is_numeric($HTTP_GET_VARS['status']) && ($HTTP_GET_VARS['status'] > 0)) {
      $status = tep_db_prepare_input($HTTP_GET_VARS['status']);
      $orders_query_raw = "select o.orders_id, o.customers_name, o.payment_method, o.date_purchased, o.last_modified, o.currency, o.currency_value, s.orders_status_name, ot.text as order_total from orders o left join orders_total ot on (o.orders_id = ot.orders_id), orders_status s where o.orders_status = s.orders_status_id and s.language_id = '" . (int)$languages_id . "' and s.orders_status_id = '" . (int)$status . "' and ot.class = 'ot_total' order by o.orders_id DESC";
    } else {
      $orders_query_raw = "select o.orders_id, o.customers_name, o.payment_method, o.date_purchased, o.last_modified, o.currency, o.currency_value, s.orders_status_name, ot.text as order_total from orders o left join orders_total ot on (o.orders_id = ot.orders_id), orders_status s where o.orders_status = s.orders_status_id and s.language_id = '" . (int)$languages_id . "' and ot.class = 'ot_total' order by o.orders_id DESC";
    }

Another thing that we/you could add is Mikepos code for the admin/customer.php file to show the guest tick icon there too just in case a guest doesn't intend to continue his shopping for...eternity. Then the admin can delete the account manually after a certain time.

Addon updated!

Thanks to @Denzel for the fix and @aurelou for testing and feedback.

@aurelou

Thanks for your feedback. I will test the changes that Denzel posted and then update the addon.

hmmm,..as far I know you can filter by a certain word or attribute that is present inside the database.

If you have installed the sample filters look in the admin area there you see how they are setup.

As you can see for example

Audio : Dolby Surround 5.1       pd.products_description       like       both       dolby surround 5.1

That means it will look for products that have the word "Dolby Surround 5.1" inside the "products_description" field.

Similar goes for the product name and so on.

You could create a new fields in the database like products_color and products_size and then inside the product registration page add new input fields like Colors: or Size: and then you could add them as filters too. But there is no easy way with this addon. There is/was a commercial solution by gadlol that allowed you to use product attributes as filters which was cool and way easier to setup. Or you stick with Kymations Products Specification addon for now.

I think Rudolf is working on a filter solution but I he just started and it might still take a while.

Did some search and the following looks interesting. The description looks very promising.

A multi-select list that allows adding attributes to many products at once.

#1748415 Purchase without account for 2.3.4 and BS2334

Posted by Tsimi on 11 October 2016 - 13:12

@raiwa

Now it loads the page and continues to the success page and from there to the checkout process. :thumbsup:

I tested with Chrome and Firefox browsers.

With Firefox I get this popup message

To display this page, Firefox must send information that will repeat any action (such as a search or order confirmation) that was performed earlier

With Chrome all is working fine as it suppose to.

#1748248 Purchase without account for 2.3.4 and BS2334

Posted by Tsimi on 07 October 2016 - 07:28

@Mikepo

Adding the tick icon to the customers page is a good idea and is sure helpful. The admin could then delete older guest accounts.

The only problem is if I add a product to the cart and continue as guest then leave the shop without placing any order then later that same day I go back to that shop and try to place that order I can't login as guest because of the existing mail address error.

The best way would be something like @burt explained, delete account data when mail address exist and the customer_guest field is status 1.

Just tested it again and I could recreate the above. I applied f.figues fix and uploaded a new version to the addons section.

Thanks again to @f.figue for the fix and @raiwa for testing and confirming. :thumbsup:
