#1754749 Paypal Standard osc 2.4

Posted by Harald Ponce de Leon on 16 March 2017 - 22:24

Also it's not better to use the receiver_id ?

That can be added in as well as a third test if the Merchant ID has been entered in the Credentials page. I've made a note of this

#1754644 How to make a 2.4 App

Posted by Harald Ponce de Leon on 15 March 2017 - 02:51

@frankl you should actually use a real Vendor and App name for your example instead of Test Test, and make a note that developers must use their own Vendor and App code names (registrations will open for this when the Apps Marketplace goes live).

There is also a Content Module hook you can define in your json metadata file. This should automatically load your module - you just need to take care of an administration page if parameters are to be set.

In case anyone has missed it, some documentation is up at:

#1754544 PayPal App v5.010 for v2.3.4BS

Posted by Harald Ponce de Leon on 13 March 2017 - 04:57

How many updates for the Paypal well be come in future?

No more updates are planned at this time that will be pushed out through the online update routine unless a bug needs to be fixed.

A separate release series will however be introduced for BS users which they can choose to upgrade to at their own leisure. This removes the legacy code and optimizes the codebase for the BS release series. Keep an eye out for some announcements this week.

@greasemonkey @mattjt83 could you please confirm if the following fixes the positioning for you:

in catalog/includes/modules/payment/paypal_express.php, on line 207 change from:

<span id="ppECButton"></span>

to:

<span id="ppECButton" style="display: inline-block;"></span>

(A better approach is to add a custom css file to the PayPal App)

#1754455 What are different PayPal modules

Posted by Harald Ponce de Leon on 09 March 2017 - 16:56

@birdiebitsnbites TLS v1.2 support was first added in cURL v7.34.0 (in 2013) and in OpenSSL v1.0.1 (in 2012). The cURL package may need to be updated on your web server which may trigger a system wide upgrade depending on the operating system dependencies.

Strange, the files in catalog have been updated successfully, but there is a new /admin folder containing only paypal.php, copyrighted 2017 the file(s) in my actual admin folder seem not to have been updated.

What paths are shown in the update logs in includes/apps/paypal/work/update_log-*.php? Your custom admin directory or hardcoded "admin"?

#1754242 OsC 2.3.4BS Edge, SQL code and install script issues

Posted by Harald Ponce de Leon on 05 March 2017 - 00:39

It's better to reset the MySQL v5.7 SQL mode.

In both includes/functions/database.php and admin/includes/functions/database.php files, update the tep_db_connect() function, at the end of the function before

return $$link;

add:

@mysqli_query($$link, 'set session sql_mode=""');

#1754227 Braintree Credentials

Posted by Harald Ponce de Leon on 04 March 2017 - 21:54

Thanks for pointing the error out. I can confirm the problem is using empty() on a constant (this produces an error on PHP < 5.5 Servers).

An update will be pushed out within a few hours.

#1754166 PayPal App v5.010 for v2.3.4BS

Posted by Harald Ponce de Leon on 03 March 2017 - 19:27

Hi All..

Attached is a patch that makes the PayPal App v5.010 compatible to v2.3.4 BS. It would be great if this could be tested and feedback provided so it can be pushed out in the online update channel.

The PayPal App should be first updated to v5.010, then the contents of the zip package should be copied to your catalog/ directory, overwriting 9 files.

Attached File  update.zip   37.59KB   13 downloads

Thanks in advance!

#1754134 PayPal App v5.000

Posted by Harald Ponce de Leon on 03 March 2017 - 13:42

Hi Fabrice..

Hi, in the Paypal App 5.0.10 version documentation, it is said that the module is for osCommerce 2.3.5.

I guess this is the osCommerce BS right?

Just to be sure.

The v2.3.5 release is based on v2.3.4 (not BS). The BS is a separate community release series.

v2.3.5 is based on the previous v2.3 release series. The BS release series is incompatible to v2.3.x and will merge to v2.4 when the production ready release is pushed out.

#1754000 PayPal App for osCommerce Online Merchant

Posted by Harald Ponce de Leon on 01 March 2017 - 18:50

Hi Mike..

So I interpret this to mean if you are using 2.3.4 (no BS) then update the App.

if using the BS edge/gold don't update the app, even if the code tells you an update is available!

if using the 2.4(beta) don't update the app

The PayPal App for osCommerce Online Merchant has only been developed and certified for our v2.3 (and earlier) and v2.4(beta) release series.

The PayPal App for v2.3 has been added to the BS/EDGE community release series, which is not compatible with the v2.3 release series. I'd suggest waiting until the App has been updated for BS/EDGE and performing the update manually.

There is currently no update for our v2.4 release series as the update feature has moved to the core level and has not yet been pushed out in a v2.4 beta release (this is coming soon).

If everything is working for you on BS/EDGE, I'd recommend waiting for the production ready release of v2.4 (coming at the end of March) and moving to that. There will be a push to move existing v2.3 and BS/EDGE users to v2.4 once the production ready release is pushed out.

Users currently on v2.3 will experience no problems updating the PayPal App.

#1753967 PayPal App v5.000

Posted by Harald Ponce de Leon on 01 March 2017 - 04:25

v5.0.10 has just been pushed out! This includes using the suburb value as the street2 parameter for the payment modules.

Thanks to Jack_mcs and greasemonkey for reviewing the address changes.

#1753512 PayPal App v5.000

Posted by Harald Ponce de Leon on 19 February 2017 - 14:46

Does the SHIPTOSTREET2 need to be manually fixed or did it come in the new update also?

This will be added to the next update. v5.001 only fixes the coding error in the Payments Standard module that v5.000 introduced.
