Redirecting customers to shop from domain name
Yesterday, 09:05 AM
Hi, I'm sure this is something really obvious, but hopefully someone can quickly point this out! When I type: www.mydomain.co.uk it foes to my hosts holding page. How do I get it to automatically go to www.mydomain.co.uk/catalog without actually typing the 'catalog' bit - or is it a case of redirecting everyone to it? Thank you
Disabling Checkout when on Holiday
20 March 2013 - 08:38 AM
Does anyone know of a contribution i can use?
When i went on holiday last time, i did display a banner at the top of the page, but apparently no-one looks! After only going away for a week I returned to find I'd been bombarded with emails from customers who wanted to know why their order had not arrived. It kind of ruins the holiday when you return to such stress!
Ideally I'd like some kind of pop-up message when people try to check out saying ' Sorry you can't checkout until 'date' as we are on holiday!' and for the checkout to be switched off
OR / AND (so i have a choice)
a pop up message (which they have to shut before proceeding), 'Your order will not be despatched until 'date' as we are on holiday', but still allow check-out.
Maybe also a pop-up box when the website is first loaded to say 'We are on hiliday, blah blah blah', whihc they have to shut before they can continue looking.
So I know they have definitely seen it.
Thank you

Editing invoice
13 February 2013 - 02:46 PM
Hi,
I increased the length of my product title (as typically no-one ever bothers to click on the 'more info bit!),
However, the product title is longer than the space on my invoice, so part of it is not printing, whihc means i'm having to look back on the ewebsite to figure out what size the item is, as that info was at the ned of the 'title'
Can someone please tell me how i make my printaed invoice show a longer product, and also where i would edit the layout of the invoice generally - namely the customer shipping address, as i want it to show slightly differently.
I have looked, but i don't want to mess things up, and it isn't obvious to me!
Thank you

protecting directories
17 June 2012 - 07:10 PM
Hi,
I am familiar with the cpanel, but my new host does not have that and i'm struggling to get my head around it.
I have still to sort out the site, so i don't want to block myself out of it, but i suppose i should secure it before i begin?
When i click on protect directories on my hosts panel i get the box below.
Do i secure catalog/admin or just catalog, or something completely different!!
apattern.co.uk Back

Updating prices quickly - contribution suggestions
17 June 2012 - 04:22 PM
Hi,
I'm just starting a new website and basically will be selling paper sewing patterns - around 4000 different ones. The patterns are grouped in prices and will go up each year as the supplier goes up.
I want to be able to quickly update each block of patterns, not open up 400 items and manually change the prices.
Any one have any contribution suggestion. I haven't yet played with the code, so i'm hoping there is one out there that will do what i want by simply replacing existing files.
I also want to display my products differently. Have looked at the 'products in columns' but not sure if its what i want. I need the picture and description to have plenty of space, and the model number, price and buy button can all be grouped. It is merely for visual effect as obviously customers will have a lot of choice and are hardly likely to want to open each item to see what it is. If they can see it quicly and only if they think they might be interested would they need to open it.
Thank you
Kellie
